Going to call bullshit on this one.
1. Disney has been pretty damn good with their casting. BP, Star Wars, Moana, etc. I don't see them botching this at all.
2. I doubt any real resemble of the actual script got out when the film was announced a week ago.
Sitting there and saying it's true, is not a source.
Hahahaaha. Oh man, the white washing will always find a way, right ? So not only Mulan, which was a strong female lead, saving her father and her friends is moved out of the lead role... it is in favor of a totally new random character, which happens to be a white male lead. :")

So, nothing to see here?
The author seems like he'd be happier with a Korean-American actress playing Mulan than a Chinese actress. Which is, being polite, bizarre.OK, I get almost on the complaints. There's no particular reason to frame the adaptation through a previously non-existent character that's extraneous to the plot. In context of a bunch of other adaptations it feels like minimizing roles to push the white savior complex.
But complaining that it's not an Asian-American in the role sounds like some weird self-centered bullshit. You can't argue that films are about money and that's why it shouldn't have a white guy, then make a moral argument against it anyway because they're only chasing money.
A bit strange to make a #makemulanright hashtag if Disney is apparently already aware of that and working on itWait a minute, he also posted this 5 min ago:

The only reason why he and his entourage decide to help the Chinese Imperial Army is because he sets eyes on Mulan. That's right. Our white savior has come to the aid of Ancient China due to a classic case of Yellow Fever.
What's up with the random attack on China and Chinese audiences?
Walt Disney Pictures has dated its live-action “Mulan” retelling for Nov. 2, 2018. In addition to dating the pic, “Jurassic World” and “Avatar” sequel scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have come on to rewrite script.
The two came on board in 2015 to rewrite the spec by Lauren Hynek and Elizabeth Martin.
The film has been fast-tracked into production with Jason Reed attached to produce along with Chris Bender and Jake Weiner.
A director has yet to be announced. A global casting search will soon be underway to find a Chinese actress for the role of Mulan.
The studio’s emphasis on live-action comes after the success of “Maleficent” and “Cinderella,” and next year’s “Beauty and the Beast” is already one of the most anticipated movies of 2017. The first “Beauty and the Beast” teaser trailer in May was viewed a record 91.8 million times in its first 24 hours, besting “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” The movie, starring Emma Watson, Luke Evans, and Dan Stevens, will be released on March 17.
The original 1998 film featured the voices of Ming-Na Wen, Eddie Murphy, Miguel Ferrer, and BD Wong in the English version, with Jackie Chan providing his voice for Chinese dubs of the movie. It grossed $304 million worldwide.

As a fan of the original movie I'm offended too.
Has this been verified?
Also why in the world would you try to start a fire because of a spec script
Dude should know how that shit works
I think the argument tends to be that movies starring minorities tend to do less well in the box office, so studios default to a white lead because statistics. They dont really care why the numbers look that way. The obvious rebuttal to that is that if big budget movies only star white men, of course movies starring white men are going to do better at the box office than a low budget niche film starring anyone.I mean what's the argument?
People can't relate to them minorities?
Does little Billy Peterson go "mother, I do not see a person with my skin color in here, how ever will I be able to enjoy it?"
Did the original Mulan have a secret white person I don't remember?
An actor in the Twitter replies says that he also saw the script.
Hollywood really hates Asians....my god.
Probably trying to push Disney in the right direction before it gets too far into production.
Finally, a Mulan that I can relate to.
Not to be that guy, but how do we know that their leaked spec script is, in fact, legitimate?
