Remember: in a few months someone is somehow going to link this to the Illuminati and their top secret agenda.

Yea compassion for exactly that reason. She was a human being who deserved no less than that, a little basic understanding that she was a human being with human failings who was far from perfect. She fell into a hole that a lot of people just cant get out of.

What if it was a relative of yours? perhaps a brother, sister or cousin who had the world at their feet and pissed it all away because of some poor life choice's. Would you feel the same way?

How would you feel if a person addicted to Alcohol killed your brother, sister or cousin after they got drunk?

I don't get the lack of compassion of a few posters.

It's a sad thing that she died, truly, but people that have even had a vague notion of what she was doing with her life, even just a tiny bit could see she wasn't going to last long.

This is what happens when you stop being culturally relevant from the way you originally were. She'll always be known as that young woman with an incredibly bright future, but squandered it in her later years with drugs and alcohol.

Hey it might be callous, but some just don't give a shit. Especially if you've been through similar situations personally or have grown thick skin to similar stories.

As someone who actually has known a few crack addicts in life, including in my family, the vast majority of the time that person needs more people to be real with them, not tap dance around their issues with phrases like "life choices."

Whitney Houston was a rich famous person who became a disgusting crack addict, and didn't have enough people in her life to slap her around, throw her ass in rehab, or do whatever it takes to keep her from dying.

So is this going to be like when MJ dies and everyone pretends they weren't making fun of her for years before this and that they always liked her?

RIP Whitney.

I do find it odd that people like to overlook flaws the moment that someone dies.

Flaws follow you in life and in death.

Someone tweeted cnn because they were upset that they mentioned her drug addiction. smh

An idiot perhaps.

Plural. Alot (ALOT) of people believe it's true. They're going to bring up some shit that Whitney tried to turn her life around and fend off the demons, but they killed her off.

If it was drug and alcohol abuse that did her in than it's understandable that people may not feel all that sorry for someone who willfully caused their own stupid death
But that's saying fame is nothing but good, that there are no psychological issues it causes. That there are no people who prey on the famous. That there is no loneliness at the top.

Sorry, but none of these are correct. It's very easy to feel a disconnect with the issues famous people face because, well.. They have a lot of what most of us don't.

Does that make them invulnerable to psychoses, however? I doubt it.

Everybody relax. No need for insults. I think your anger is misplaced. Bobby brown is the real motherfucker.

Sounds like a societal problem. America has a huge problem with drugs, but they're focusing all their efforts on keeping drugs from coming into our borders but not enough on keeping people off of them.

I'm a wreck. This is. . . *whew* Oh, man, there are going to be tears galore Sunday night, I can feel it. I don't even have the words to express my feelings right now, Whitney was one of the people that got me into singing. Her albums were as much a part of my upbringing as any other influence in my life. This is awful. :(

Kind of apt.

did not

see this cooooooming!!!!!!!!

LMAO!

But seriously, damn!... So young. What once was one of the most powerful voices in the industry went downhill as the years went by. Still wasn't expecting her to leave so soon.

dang. she had a rough 10... 20 years? but I thought she was turning thigns around in the past few (although getting a bit fat post-drugs, but I figured that was healthier than being a coke fiend). she was a tremendous talent ... I really thought we'd be hearing from her in her 60s and early 70s at the very least. too bad.

Wow this really sucks. Not so much that she died but because I've already heard that fucking Bodyguard song about twenty times in the past hour.

Goddamnit I'm at a bar right now and every sad sack going up to karaoke right now is doing a Whitney song and it's just brutal.

Horrible news indeed. I doubt she was going to have a comeback, but her past work is so good and so important that losing her feels just wrong :\

I blame Bobby Brown for all of this. He's a low life scum bag who turned her that way.
