Did you?

Are you a FreeBSD user? I've never met one, but that's what came to mind when reading your replies.

He obviously is, as PlayStation OS runs on FreeBSD

Bought one at release, then Sony's first party output fell off a cliff and I played a whopping 3 games on the console in the 4 years I had it, so I sold it again.
Skip may be the wrong term... More like ignored? Disappointed?

I've already played Yotei, and I have no intention of completing another single-player game 100%, especially with so many other games still waiting to be played.

Now I ask you:

Can you sell all the junk you have on Steam, some of which you haven't even finished or don't even play?

So you can't play nor own the game anymore. Ok.

Also, I never said I want to sell my games. Sure I have some I'll never play but those bundles were still very good deals back then.

And man, looking up posts from years ago? is that why it took you some time to respond? lmao, nice way of spending your time dude.

My example has simply explained why I prefer physical media.

I've played all the major Sony and third-party titles without having to spend a fortune.

I don't want a game in a digital library that I know I'll never play again; it doesn't make sense to me.

Damn, I thought GAF was more mature than this.

The console/PC warring in here is legitimately pathetic.

Thread isnt about console warring. People are mostly just discussing why they prefer physical gaming over digital. Everyone sounds like a family fighting each other at GAF but its actual discussion.

I didn't but I wish I did. Was a waste of money tbh, especially the Pro. But it's easy to say now, hindsight is always 20/20. Back in 2020 I didn't have a living room PC and didn't know Sony would port everything to Steam.

Even though a lot of Xbox games are Play Anywhere nowadays, I still prefer the console experience. Therefore: no, I didn't skip for PC.

The last console I ever bought was the Gamecube back in 2002, so .... yes? 😂

I stopped buying games on consoles because WoW took my soul for about seven years, and I didn't play much of anything other than WoW for that time. Once I did start playing games other than WoW I just stayed PC only. There are so many games to choose from on PC that I don't feel the need to have any other gaming platforms, I could never play all the games I want to on PC anyway. Plus Steam sales make gaming such a cheap and easy hobby! 😁

I know I did. I was a pure PS Fanboy until I discovered Steam. PS4 was my last, but my niece has one so I'd just borrow sometimes to play Astrobot.

Why did you choose to skip console this gen? Mostly its because I don't have to pay for PSN or Xbox Live. And the regional stores being abysmal for consoles.
Xbox offered 0 value with their consoles( 0 exclusives), playstation offered terrible (not 0 but not much higher) value with their consoles, literaly astro+ demons souls and if we count xgen then gt7 over 6 full years is not enough to convince me to fork up cash for ps5 or pr0, especially at those price hikes, if ps5 was 200 or maybe 300$ i would consider it by now, or if pr0 stayed at 700$ by gta6 time.

I wish for sony to make smarter decisions next gen, and i dont even mind pricing, i just want mountain of high quality exclusives so value in owning sony console is there.

If Switch 2's OS and PS5's OS are still based on the FreeBSD kernel like the OSes on Switch 1 and PS4 were, then he's technically a FreeBSD user.

Skipping the next. Got most nintendos, all xboxes and sonys handhelds and all consoles beside ps2.

I'll possibly get next ps, xbox is completely uninteresting after it was a tv, sports device and everything was xbox, and switch2 is surprisingly not even being used by the kids.

So, pc. With linux when they get nvidia driver shit together.

I didn't but I might as well have if you dont count Switch and Switch 2.

I barely touch my PS5 and the last time I touvhed my Xbox was for a Lost Odyssey replay

Only stupid people who can't work computer are dumb enough to pay Sony $10-$20/month for a made up internet surcharge and buy $70 5 year old games off their price controlled monopoly store.

I voted that I didn't because I buy all consoles but I did because I spent maybe a total of .02 percent of my gaming time on one.

I've bought a console from every generation, had a PS5 but sold it. Staying on PC never going back to console.

Most of base will do the same once they learn they won't be able to afford the next consoles

I've had a PC for the last two generations and I think this is my last one. I'm a couch gamer, so my PC is hooked up to the TV and I treat it like a mega console.

The prices are getting beyond absurd for PC components (I know consoles are rising, too). But for the most part, PS5 Pro games are good enough for me.

For next gen, I think I'm sticking with Sony and Nintendo consoles. Upscaling tech has progressed amazingly and I'm more than happy with it!

If my PC shits the bed, then it'll be the end of an era. But this 4090 has very very long legs. I'm very impressed with the mileage.

Edit: I also have a PS5 Pro and a Switch 2. I sold my Xbox Series X two years ago.

I didn't, but I will skip going forward. I haven't used my Xbox, Playstation or Switch in about 3 years. I've converted my kids to PC gamers so we'll just stick with this and Steam Decks for the foreseeable future.

I didn't skip the generation, as I originally got a series X, but instead of picking up a PS5 (I typically get a PlayStation a few years after I started Gen with an Xbox), I migrated to PC. It's been such an eye opening experience.

I've shared this sentiment multiple times but I'll repeat here, I'm done investing in hardware that uses a walled garden ecosystem.

Knowing how to use a computer doesn't make you smart by default, you know?

Or folks can buy physical from any store they want and resell to recoup costs.

I guess I did,

Sold the PS5 because I only ever played TLOU2, Returnal and horizon FW ( For about 8 hours before I couldn't take any more ).

The XSX I would have sold, but have friends kids over every so often and it's an easy find something on GP for them. Don't think I've used in in over 2 years.

Same as you, the only difference is that my niece is 2 years old.
PS4 was my last Playstation console and I don't see myself buying another any time soon.
