TV shows and Movies that generally last a few hours and are often $20+ aren't a good comparison to video games at all.

There may be an argument for more people being ok with renting games, but that isn't it.

Extreme minority is when wayyyyyyy less of XB and PC users use such services.
GP is even worse as many of its "subscriber" numbers are inflated by them counting free and $1 trials etc.

Netflix is a household name. Most people have no clue what GP is.

Most people never really cared, because let's be honest, what's the point of owning something that's just a temporary consumption? Netflix, Spotify or Game Pass aren't any different that television, cinema, radio, etc. you consume, have fun for the moment, and move on, and never look back.
