I'll think he's a despicable asshole in a week after he kicks the Broncos ass.
Kind of indifferent right now.
Kind of indifferent right now.
I don't remember it being a big issue like this when they were making the Super Bowl.Sure they did, the whole k issing t he biceps thing? You haven't heard about him in the past 2 years because he has fallen off the face of the earth.
That people seriously complain about a football player grandstanding after his team scores is mindboggling to me.
Like he's exhausted and high on adrenaline in front of a crowd of thousands of people who are cheering him on. What do you expect him to do?
Immediately run back to the sidelines and sit with his QB coach looking over stuff on a Microsoft iPad
Yeah, and its always "the usual suspects" who are doing it.Oh, really? That's a shame.
Also, shame on people automatically placing a large blame on his race...
Russel Wilson is black and nowhere near as revered as Cam and yet has dominated superbowls/playoffs in recent years. it has a lot to do with his ego and show-boatism.
.
And he isn't Russ "not black enough" Wilson.
That's nothing new in the NFLHe's a demonstrative black man.
Also, shame on people automatically placing a large blame on his race...
Russel Wilson is black and nowhere near as revered as Cam and yet has dominated superbowls/playoffs in recent years. it has a lot to do with his ego and show-boatism. Also, it's not like he came out of college with a great rep... lots of people hated him then for some stupid laptop stealing incident and when his dad tried to make a buck off him.
.
It's because he's black playing a typically white position.
Those things are magnified because of his race. It's naive to think otherwise. How often are white players like Aaron Rodgers and JJ Watt criticized for show boating or ego? People still hold on to Cam stealing a laptop when he was 19 or his dad having shady dealings with a college 7 years ago, yet Peyton Manning having HGH delivered to his wife gets swept under the carpet.
He's black but more importantly he doesn't know his place. Ideally black people should be neither seen or heard.
Just because a black guy said something is not possibly racist doesn't make it not racist.Jason Whitlock had an interesting take on this that the media and people in general are framing it as racism without feeling like they have to prove there's a serious undercurrent of racism in order to create a controversy and I was inclined to think what he was saying had merit.
"We had Russell Wilson play Peyton Manning just two years ago in the Super Bowl. Russell Wilson is black. Somehow it didn’t evolve into some low hanging fruit race discussion. We had Donovan McNabb in the Super Bowl and he was expressive in the way he played and did a Michael Jackson dance occasionally. Donovan McNabb, not the most popular quarterback and he embraced the moment and talked about it, but that didn’t evolve into this race-bait discussion. What has happened is the media has moved and changed. The media has gone all in on racial debate discussions that are divisive for clicks and ratings. So, the media is driving all of this.”
That's nothing new in the NFL
Didn't Big Ben have multiple rape allegations? I never hear that brought up beyond when they first occurred. Those things are magnified because of his race. It's naive to think otherwise. He's black. Lots of people like their black athletes to be seen and not heard. When they show off, it's a sign of cockiness, when a white player shows off he's just having fun.
I've never heard anyone critical of someone like, say, Jared Allen for stuff like this:

Rhymes with sack. Something which rarely happens to Cam, by the way
Also because he's not a vanilla wafer out on the field like PFM, Eli, and Brady
get back to me when you have a QB as cocky and loud as Cam to compare him to.
You mean why do SOME people hate him.
Lots of other teams fans hate Watt. Aaron Rodger is just so good that he's hard to hate.
Peyton's HGH link is hysterical. Everyone tripping over themselves to not bring it up at all. If it was another QB, namely Tom Brady, it would be everywhere.
He's black.
The other stuff is just window dressing.

Lot of racism in this thread.
On a side note, he is now on the Panthers.I've never heard anyone critical of someone like, say, Jared Allen for stuff like this:

I think the real question is...
Why do people hate Kobe?
Why does it matter if it's a QB or not? And in what way is Cam cockier/louder than Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers? Because he dances? Dancing when you score a touchdown is somehow cockier/louder than Aaron Rodgers little belt celebration?
get back to me when you have a QB as cocky and loud as Cam to compare him to.
