Why, exactly, do people find Uma Thurman attractive?

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated

Am I outside the loop on some sort of cool joke, because I have NEVER understood the attraction alot of people apparently have towards this woman. I can't stand her face and her body, while nice, is nothing amazing. And her feet, my lord, her feet!!

She is attractive in a very straightforward old fashioned way. She doesn't fit in with the current trends always, but she is classically attractive.

Is 'classically attractive' a kind euphemism for ugly?

I love GAF... ask people for their opinions, and then ridicule those same asked for opinions.

Rock on!

She's attractive in an awkward-looking youth sorta way, as you might expect with a girl named Uma. It's hard to describe. Personally, i think she's hot wihout being overtly so. It's hard to descirbe what really makes some celebs hot, because much of our experience is through their roles. Having said that, i'd have to say her role in Pulp Fiction as Mia was the best i've seen her in.

While on the subject, did Tarantino really hit it? i got the impression he did from some old Pulp Fiction interviews i read, but there was no explicit mentioning.

I'm honestly not sure what the term is in reference to. The Grace Kellys of days past? Because I think that even that interpretation of beauty was different. Yeah, my response could've been a little less sardonic, but this is the Internet, and I am talking on a forum...

Whenever I look at her, she just looks weird and emanciated (and nothing like 30s-50s glamour stars like someone above mentioned.) But somehow she keeps getting "sexy supporting character" roles in movies. how?

This is just a guess mind you... but I'm going to guess it's because there are people out there who *gasp* find her attractive.... I know, I know sit down, it's remarkable I know... but really.... that possibility does exist... you know?

I never found her quite attractive. Just doesn't do it for me.

She's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I wonder how many people caught this....

She's one charming motherfucking pig is all I can say

Uma Thurman's a lot more attractive and interesting than the uber-generic blonde chick in your avatar, I'll say that.

The girl you don't really know is more interesting than the other girl you don't really know. Check. I'm talking simple aesthetics here, and in that case, I'd take said 'uber-generic blonde chick' over Uma any day. My question is what, to you, makes her so attractive?

I think unique qualities go a long way. She has some features that aren't typical or perhaps ideal, in and of their own. Altogether though, it works for her. I see girls that look exactly like the one in your avatar numerous times a day. That ain't special, it's borderline boring.

I find the "standard" attractive look pretty unattractive. Generally, I am attracted to something less ordinary/formula. In Uma's case, eyes, nose, the ever-so-slightly awkward look. And she has a very, very hot voice.

I'm in agreement about you avatar chick. Zzzz.

Several people in this thread already answered your question....they have their tastes and you have yours, so there's no point repeating the same question over and over in an attempt to make someone make you find her attractive. If you don't, you don't.

I can agree that things considered flaws by some can be considered attractive by others. I just don't see that when it comes to Uma, but I suppose I can understand why others would. Ashlee Simpson's got a big 'ole nose and kind of odd face, but I find her infinately more attractive than her sister...although she can't sing for her life. As for my avatar, perhaps I should slap a MAF face on it, perhaps then it'd be odd enough for you to find hot. :D

Uma's a babe because she does not have perfect features. It's the way she moves and her style that make her so atttractive. Plus like someone already mentioned her voice! The scene in Pulp Fiction where she talks through the intercom, come on super sexy! She is just one of those women that you can instantly tell she grew up with brothers. My first rule of dating never date a girl that didnt have a brother.

That would probably do it!

TO be clear, your avatar girl is hot-- just not interesting. Uma is both. More interesting than hot, certainly.

I wouldn't call her flat out gorgeous, but she is pretty hot in Pulp Fiction (When she was younger obviously) and not bad in Kill Bill.

She's still got a nice body, as is apparent in Kill Bill, especially when you bare in mind she's a mother.

Beautiful Girls is when she really caught my eye. Pulp Fiction shes great in, Gattaca is were she really has the classic look that just rocks.

I don't see it either, which is wierd because in so many movies she plays the Helen of Troy character which eveyone swoons for, I have to suspend disbelief during those films. But I don't like white chicks in general, and she seems especially plain jane.

I agree, but that classical american beauty of the golden age is so damn boring, like if Norman Rockwell were to draw naked pictures. I prefer something a bit more ethnic and urban.

I'm in a weird place with Uma. I don't find her looks particularly attractive, but she is sexy as all hell to me. She's got the vibe of being able to make you scream her name in bed. She's one of the few celebrity women who can just lick her lips and give me a stiffy.

I am guessing he is referring to the OLD old school when the likes of greta garbo and marlene dietrich were considered the height of hotness..

People don't find her attractive. They find her sexy. Big difference.

Too true. Especially the way she swings those hips in Pulp Fiction while dancing. Hot damn.

Well at least this thread didnt get polluted by japanophiles and their bizzaro j-idols with 8 years old voices and bodies but huge upgraded breasts. Uma is one classy lady. Too bad she released a string of flops (paycheck and whatever the last movie she did) lately

No matter what your opinion is on the movie itself, I don't think you can really argue the money taken in by Kill Bill vol 2.
