It has been matched and surpassed by Emmy the Great and Tim Wheeler's, Zombie Christmas
It's not the same thing really but I slightly prefer Last Christmas by Wham.

Hear hear.I thought it was widely agreed that Fairytale of New York by the Pogues was the GOAT Christmas song.

dang really? I know they're not pop songs but they do an xmas song every year: "Joseph, better you than me" might be the best non-secular xmas song ever.

I remember a german radio station disqualifying this and Wham's songs as "Christmas Songs" because both aren't about christmas per se.
both songs are about love stories that happen to take place around christmas.
two different things.
Ya Mon!Well, Die Hard is a Christmas Movie, and those are Christmas songs.
Just had to check out some of Mariah Carey's vocal range videos on the related videos tab.
My god. No-one even comes close, do they.
Lol @ people posting way less successful and less liked Christmas songs as examples
Nobody has made a modern Christmas song that has stuck like All I Want for Christmas Is You
All I Want For Christmas Is You is the mall chinese food of Christmas songs.
There's a war on Christmas
War is over.Is the war still on this year? Who's winning?
I was in the US last week and I kept noticing that most places played a disproportionately high amount of British music. Everywhere we went (Vegas and LA) there was Queen, Tears for Fears, Spandau Ballet, Coldplay, the list went on and on. BUT when we were in places with a Christmas music loop, almost the only British song was Step into Christmas but Elton. We have a whole array of modern Christmas songs over on this side of the pond that haven't penetrated in the US in the way our "normal" music has. You're missing out of loads of weird, creepy songs.
Nat King Cole's version of The Christmas Song. 70 years and counting, and the most performed Christmas song.
I understand not liking her music, but not liking her voice? She's been like the gold standard of vocal power, agility, range, and musicality for over 20 years.Never even heard this song before, but I don't particularly like it.
But then I'm not a fan of her voice either.
