Wii Party U |OT| Next gen knitting

Nintendo is running a contest to win it on Twitter... and this is the first picture

Hahaha! Not this minigame seems more fun than I first thought. I would go with tech support. :))

Gonna day one this as well, but sorta conflicted at the moment.

This would be one of those games where you want to get the eShop version; to have it around all the time.

But the goddamn eShop version in Australia is AUD $79.95, and the physical copy w/ Wii Remote+ and horizontal stand is AUD $79. I already got 4 Wii Remote+'s, but I really want the eShop version.

I don't even.
Personally, if digital is available, it's more valuable to me due to convenience, so I'll happily forego any Wii Remote Plus bonus.

Plus, I intend to buy the Mario and Luigi special edition Wii Remote Pluses, and in honor of Super Mario 3D World, I might grab the pink and blue ones already available, too! Having same-colored remotes has been so annoying these last few years... always having to check whose was whose if there was any interruption etc...

The Wii Remote Plus is included only in the first print. Just as with the original Wii Party, it will be a game-only release later on (at a slightly cheaper price).

Price for the digital version is still unknown, isn't it? I'd gladly go digital with Wii Party U, but considering that the retail version can be had at sth. like 40-45€ (including the Remote)... I just don't see Nintendo selling the digital version for ~15-20 although they really should :/

My kids and I played the hell of Wii Party, so this is a must. Not sure on physical or digital as I already have 4 wii remotes, but 1 is failing for M+. I have 2 with the motion plus attachments and 2 of the new ones with M+ included. I am also interested in both Luigi and Mario Wii motes plus another nunchuck. Probably going digital, Game + Luigi or Mario wii remotes would have been killer for me.

Over 80 games is plenty... I'll probably get this, there should be at least a couple of games that both me and the missus will like.

Firs review score is

Famitsu - 9/8/8/9 [34/40]

That is not bad at all especially since it is a minigame collection.

I know it is Famitsu and all. Oh well.

What did Edge score the original Wii Party? Did they even review it? I'm absolutely buying this anyway, of course. I can't imagine not enjoying it.

Funny thing is that Game&Wario got a 6. So they are practically saying that this is worse than Game&Wario?

game & wario was pretty good. that said wii party u will undoubtedly be a better multiplayer game.

I know, I have it. But it has not enough minigames, while Wii Party U seems to have much more and even better mini-games. That's why I find it curios. I hope it is just Edge on the edge about any Wii U game (more a LCU situation than a Sonic one).

Pretty polarizing so far. Seems like if you love games like this you'll be into it, is my impression. I am a Nintendo fan that tries to stay pretty objective, usually enjoys all things Nintendo, and I find personally usually find Nintendo Life's reviews to be most similar to my own opinion on a game.

On the bright side, even if it's no, say, Nintendo Land in terms of multiplayer fun to be had, at least it's a very cheap game if you need a Wiimote+...

I think the fact this costs $50 and includes a Wii Remote+ is a great bargain. Completely blows the pants off of Wii Play. Too bad it won't even sell 5% as many copies, probably.

The reviews have confirmed some of my concerns about the game, particularly the absence of more comprehensive 2-player based competitive games playable on the big screen. Looks like Wii Fit U will have more games and more variety.

The addition of the Wiimote might compel me to get it anyway, since we only have 2 at the moment and we occasionally have a guest that drops by to play video games.

So I'm curious if this game is a replacement for Mario Party. One of my wii motes is buggy so I might pick it up for the extra controller alone. I wonder if the giantbomb guys will cover this.

They're the same dev (Nd Cube) behind Mario Party 9 and the upcoming MP: Island Tour for 3DS. Conventional wisdom is they'll make MP 10 next year.

I'm surprised at the range of review scores. Should I still keep my $35 preorder from Newegg? I'm debating because I only have 3 Wiimotes (2 are WM+), so a 4th would be nice.

Tbh with a wiimotion plus this should be a no brainer. I have 4 already so i will sell mine and that way the game will cost me about 10 euros or so. Ill pay that for the tabletop games alone

I'm with SporeCrawler. I'm sure the game will give you at least $0 of enjoyment given the price of a WM+ and the discount you got on the game.

Wii Play was the worst game I ever played and I LITERALLY must have thrown it away, since I have no idea where it is now.

Haha I never bought it myself, but I liked playing that tanks game in 2 player. It was pretty addictive. Honestly never even tried the other games in the collection. :\

True. I'm just tempted to cancel because I've spent too much money on games recently: Pokemon X and Y, WWHD, SMTIV, ACNL --and also buying SM3DW and Zelda ALBW next month. That's a huge backlog.

I own Wii Play and actually liked it. This must mean I'll have a ton of fun with this game then?

Man, I just REALLY didn't like any of it.

I have no idea about this game, but I think this one looks fun! I'm sure it will be WAY better than Wii Play, lol.
