Wii Screen Shot Thread (56k no)

Are people joking when they say that Lost Winds looks great (I assume they're referring to its graphics)? I mean the game itself sounds interesting but its graphics are horrible, it doesn't even look good for a PSP game, let alone a Wii game.

"Looks great!" when referring to a wii game is not the same are a "looks great!" for anything else.

There's hidden bonus points for being wii stuff.

But it doesn't look great for a Wii game, so what's your point?

For instance, Mario Kart Wii is far more impressive graphically but people shit all over that game's graphics.

Sure those SST shots arent the PS360 build? There were Wii shots handed out earlier and the presentation and graphics were far far far less clean, as well as the stats box - the PS360 stuff looked like that though...

Yeah now that you say it...

SEGA Superstar Tennis is mine on Wii. looks pretty good for a Wii game if you ask me, but has it Gamecube controller support?

Nope, the only control schemes avaible will be Wiimote+Nunchuck, OnlyWiimote (nes style) and Classic Controller.

Speed Racer has a really cool style to it...a great usage of colors, looks very unique actually.

I never read the NP feature on it that detailed the controls, so I'm still a bit curious about how it'll go. I know it'll surely feature tilt control, but how will the Mach Five's control panel work, I wonder? The four-input d-pad doesn't really cut it for the M5's 8 buttons. Maybe press 1 + d-pad input or 2 + d-pad input to signal different buttons? Not sure.

Oh God I want F-Zero Wii.

Totally. Hell, just give GX a perfect just-tight-enough tilt control (with Wii Wheel support, obviously) and you'd have a killer title.

Not only that, there are still a ton of Nintendo franchises awaiting Wiification...can't wait to get as many as possible in my hands.

Those are definitely NOT Wii SST images and we would all prefer if they were removed, regardless of how much they improve this thread. :|

Samba looks good but I'm wondering if this will really be exclusive...because those are exceptionally high-res images that the Wii is not capable of. Yes, I realize that some images are blown up for magazine usage.

Speed Racer definitely reminds us all of what we're still missing: quality futuristic racing games. These look a little blurry and look like video captures honestly. If this is as good as Extreme-G, I'm all in. I would definitely like to see an update to the series. These look a little blurry and look like video captures honestly. That in itself makes me believe that Nintendo hasn't completely shot their wad yet when it comes to first-party/second-party titles.

Sega Superstar Tennis

German version, apparently. Looks like trash...and like the person doing the captures doesn't know how to set widescreen. Pathetic.

* Speed Racer *

Hmmm those screens don't look direct feed and like they have been stretched. Not sure where they are from exactly.

Have you seen the movie trailer? The Wachowskis have a pretty unique vision for the film.

Yep, and support for the Wii Wheel as well.

As to the control panel of the Mach 5, the game actually has you playing in the Mach 6 (http://www.gametap.com/home/read/article/4161). The movie will explain what is going on there (well, you can tell from the trailer if you look real close).

Resident Evil Zero

Looks ok. I think the sentiment here is that it comes down to control for this game. Btw, I wouldn't necessarily expect a US release. They are not being clear on their intentions.

HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE ALONE IN THE DARK? NOW YOU CAN HAVE YOUR VERY OWN COLLECTORS EDITION.

...well, at least there's plenty of stuff in the CE, judging by that shot. They could've included one of those manual-sized "artbooklets" and be done with it.

Screens aren't looking too good though.

Oh totally, I was FLOORED by how the movie looks. I love the style.

The movie itself, I gave an early dismissal based on my first viewing of the trailer; just didn't dig it, beyond the visual appeal. I watched again a few days later and changed my mind, it actually looks like it'd be a really fun popcorn flick, and as a former fan of the localized cartoon, I'm glad its revival is being given such a unique treatment.

So yeah, I'm really happy about how the Wachowskis style has translated to the game (even the 'lesser' horsepower builds, like Wii). Major kudos, there.

Awesome; thanks for the heads up, Mario! I'm getting more and more excited about giving this one a whirl.

I couldn't think of a more relevant place to ask this question than here.

The Wii seems to make my digital camera pics look better than my PC or PS3. Is there some reason for this?

If they're off screen, maybe slower frame rate? brighter colors? are you taking pics of one style of game on the wii (bright and colorful) and a different style on the PS3 (real and brown)?

Wait. Curling on the Wii? SOLD
Mario All Star Hockey next, please. But I guess I can live with baseball for a while. (Gamecube version was underrated and fantastic) :D

Speed Racer looks OK. If it's 60FPS and the controls are tight I might bight.

So what did Panther do to get banned this time?
I hope it was for that "Nintendo is actually a third party" thread :lol .

So, how well does the Wii upscale to 1080i? I always see these widescreen shots but I play on my SD-TV. Thinking of buying component cables but I want to make sure that the upscaling isn't hideous from 480p to 1080i.

I really want that Speed racer game to turn out good, because the screenshots make it look hella fun, what with those ape-shit bonkers track designs and the whole F-Zero vibe it's given off.

Jesus, it looks like they plucked Bowser right out of an N64 game. Every time I look at Mario Kart my opinion changes. Sometimes I think it looks great, sometimes it looks really grubby and low-quality.

It always looks fun though, so that's good.

PESWii looks very nice. I'm looking forward to its innovative controls!

MKWii has nice environments but the character models are a POS. What was Nintendo thinking? I don't recall Double Dash models looking that bad...

Actually, that's a retro track? Maybe the character models actually "revert" to primitive models for the retro tracks so as to keep with the general style?

I'm not clutching at straws, honest.
