If that bowling game was anything else than shovelware and had good physics and control, then I could see it having good success on the Wii from the casual Wii Sports fanbase, not unsimilar to Tiger Woods. But I doubt it somehow, being a PS2 port from a smaller company...

Agreed. I'm already imagining an EA BIG version of bowling, complete with the Afros, disco+rap+trance music, trick shots, and awesome personalities and characters. This? The mechanics might be good, and it could lead to a legitimate new genre (that Wii Sports is really establishing): The Sports-in-motion Simulator.

It's probably shovelware. You can still see the 'oscillating power meter' style mechanics - which are really back to the days of buttons. (Tap button to start meter going up and down, tap to determine power, tap as close as possible to mark to get accuracy, etc.)

Where are these way-higher-than-480p Wii shots coming from? (e.g. Boogie, Dewey) Are they renders? (possible w/ Boogie, unlike w/ Dewey given how close to done it obviously is). Are they using some tricky photoshop technique to enlarge and remove jaggies?

Crash and His Shitty Friends, great.
Probably gonna suck, who's making this?

I really have my doubts about Dk jet or whatever it is called now. I personally think it shouln't use the bongos but that's just my opinion. Images look ok

I also wanted to point out something quite significant. This thread started last September. Not quite a full year for a thread, but it's been quite an awesome journey. I was pretty good about updating the index at the beginning, and the community was pretty good about posting updates as they became available...

What I'd like to hear from you guys now is whether a new thread "Wii Screen Shot Thread II" is warranted around the start of E3 this year, or if we should just keep this thing going. I'm leaning towards a fresh start, but that's just my opinion.

What do you guys think?

[edit]
This started much, much later than I thought. September 06.

I'd say keep things going in the same thread...

I say start a new thread at the end of the year soon. Because It iwll be cluttered with too many released games soon. And with so many old shots.

I vote for keeping it in the same thread, let's make it so big with so many upcoming wii games that NeoGAF's servers threaten to crash. ;)

Let's just make sure we post THUMBNAILS as links to the actual pictures. ^,^;;

I've been pretty good about posting thumbnails when they're available. My issue is that I'm not going to spend the time creating them. We can let the media sites handle that stuff. ;)

Please do not start a new thread.

PantherLotus and the other contributors have done an amazing job, and I'm always referring friends and family to this link. E.g. "there's some new Dragon Quest Swords pics on GAF", and they already know just where to go.

I agree. Don't start a new thread just for the sake of starting a new thread. Unless there is some real reason to do so then don't do it. This thread is where all the pretty Wii pictures are. Why confuse the issue by making a second place to have to look?

Im all for a new thread.
One every year, restarting from E³ of the year.
And in 10 years you can make a topic linking to all the former Wii Screenshots-threads ;)

That looks interesting. All those icons on screen made me wonder why we haven't seen more games which are heavily menu driven like some PC games since the Wiimote works like a mouse.
