Wii Screen Shot Thread (56k no)

to answer your question about niGHTs, what you see there is a bit of an homage to the original level called Splash Garden. That level in the original game allowed you to fly freely around and into water columns around the stage, which seems to be the same idea here.

I wish they'd turn up the saturation in Harvest Moon. It's not really the type of game to have dull faded colours.

TBH, I think they capture those screens using standard PC video capture devices, which always wash out colours. Dunno why they wouldn't take framebuffer grabs instead, but they appear to be washed out in the same way IGN's Spiderman 3 shots are washed out from their shitty cap device. If a ton more screens come out, from different sources, and they all look like that, THEN I'd be concerned. For now, don't worry too much about it. The previous Harvest Moon games were pretty colourful, and I wouldn't think that even with a bit more graphical polish that they'd give that up.

Day 1, Sega. Day 1.

Now, Namco... Sega's got the ball rolling. It's time you Crisis Zoned me.

Don't forget about Umbrella Chronicles, which IS a light-gun game. If those 3 (Ghost Squad, RE:UC, and Time Crisis) don't warrant an attachment, I don't know what will.

the beauty of this one is that it essentially has the nunchuck included with the analogue on top. freaking sweet.

Mercury Meltdown is looking awesome. I wish I preordered on Amazon a few weeks ago to lock in the 19.99 dollar price, I just might preorder it now just in case it goes above 29.99.

...if you wait 'till it bombs, it'll be right back at 19.99!

I didn't wait for Kororinpa (which is easily one of the best games for the system) and I can't wait for this.

I'm a sucker for those rolley-type game things.

Ratatouille

If they clean up some blurry textures, this'll definitely be one of the best looking Wii games... Never even heard of it before clicking on this thread.

Looked pretty shit in the video though. The environments are barren wastelands.

That's the only problem I have with it. I know damn well they could fix up the enviorments. I hope they do before release.

I'm looking at the videos on GT and the smoke, explosions and particle effects all look pretty impressive. So what the hell at these environments Namco?!!?

It doesn't look too good gameplay wise anyway, looks like Namco sent it to die in Japan. A slow paced FPS is the best thing they could think of?

Looney Tunes

Why isn't this cell-shaded? Check out the smoke in the 4th pic. That smoke looks great. One of the advantages of cell-shading is that it makes horrible textures look awesome! Of all the games that should have it...

Gundam is looking better and better, granted that one level looked barren, oh yeah it was a desert canyon...

Ghost Squad looks great, I am sure they just making it look as good as the arcade title, but I wouldn't mind them making the game look a little better.

Ultimate Duck Hunting looks like a budget PC game from 3 years ago. It will probably sell 1 million copies in Wal-Mart in a month, so we'll never really get to see the sales numbers on it :lol

Now if someone would get smart and combine the best of Ghost Squad and Duck Hunter to get:

Arcade perfect translation on the Wii, and my buddies and I can stop dropping $20 a weekend on the damned thing!

Its really too bad about the no cel-shading in Looney Tunes: AA
It seems like WB has been taking Looney Tunes to a more rounder more CG look, I miss the old flat paint look of the classic Looney Tunes :(

I think this is the reason they are not using cel-shading it would have given it a real classic look.

2D mofos! 2D!

Is it just me, or are the devs finally developing some nice engines for these Wii games? Some of these shots look really freaking great.
