Wii U Speculation Thread 2: Can't take anymore of this!!!

Hmm, so Apple is making a major announcement on Wednesday. So what if the announcement is a joint Apple/Nintendo announcement that the iPad 3 will have circle pads and buttons on the sides, and will work as an upgraded Wii-U controller? That way Nintendo could claim that their console's resolution is BETTER THAN HD (rumors have the iPad 3 screen resolution at 2048x1536). This would explain why Apple chose to do their announcement smack dab in the middle of the GDC schedule.

This post fits your name but sticks would ruin the iPad 3 so its the worst idea ever.

But I don't think Apple will stay out of the gaming market for long they are enjoying apps but they do have new gaming focus on Mountain Lion coming soon.

I like both Nintendo and Apple a partnership would be a dream but like Sony/Nintendo before it this would only hurt Nintendo as Apple would run away with the hardware business and get 3rd parties to jump into iGame leaving Nintendo in its dust.

It is best NEVER to think of that monster Apple in Nintendo's Land

chances are a thousand times higher that Valve's SteamBox has an Apple Logo on it. :P

Sony and MS better pray Apple never re-enter gaming consoles as they have PDA to Tablet
Newton > iPhone/iPad

so PiPPen > ??? would be scary

Sorry Logs!!!

:(

I won't post the original pic of the dog and ruin everything :P

But I don't think Apple will stay out of the gaming market for long

They're already in it. They've been quietly building their marketshare in the gaming world since the app store's debut. With technology marching toward "all your needs in one device" machines, it would be silly for apple to release a product more gaming focused than iPads/iPhones already are.

So, to sum up:

- Darksiders 2
- Assassins Creed 3
- Ghost Recon
- Aliens: Colonial Marines
- Project C.A.R.S.
- Batman: Arkham City
- Killer Freaks From Outer Space
- Scribblenauts
- Ninja Gaiden 3
- That game Arkam's company working on with 20FPS
- Dragon Quest X

There's also Tekken, Darksiders II, and Metro: Last Light.

EDIT: Whoops, how could I miss Darksiders 2 when it was the first game on that list? :P

I lol'd.

Part of the reason I gave up being witty a long time ago.

I seem to do crass and delusion so much better.
But.. I've been training myself in petty sarcasm since I was 3!.. Fine. I need a new shtick, got it. *mumbles something about 'this place'..*

How many of these are launch day titles?

- Darksiders 2
- Assassins Creed 3
- Ghost Recon
- Aliens: Colonial Marines
- Project C.A.R.S.
- Batman: Arkham City
- Killer Freaks From Outer Space
- Scribblenauts
- Ninja Gaiden 3
- That game Arkam's company working on with 20FPS
- Dragon Quest X
- Tekken

Any more? With only these ones, for me it would be the best launch for a nintendo platform regarding 3rd partis..

Assassin's Creed III is not confirmed to be a launch game yet.

Right, but I thought that they've been bought by Nintendo? This makes them a second-party developer or not?

It makes them first party.
Second party developers are independent developers contracted exclusively to work on a platform. Like Insomniac and Sony, Sucker Punch and Sony, Mistwalker and Microsoft (to begin with), Game Freak and Nintendo.

*sigh*
I was hoping it would be today

I expect no megaton at GDC unless people consider AC3 on WiiU unexpected

what would you guys consider megaton? We killed Retro Studio talk for hundreds of pages

for me only GTA V would be considered a megaton at GDC I think even that would be left for E3

Okay, thanks for clearing that up :)

Doesn't Rockstar never attend E3?

Okay, thanks for clearing that up :)

Haha, no problem. Took me the longest time to figure it out myself :P

I really hope WiiU does not have lack of software gaps we have seen with recent lanches for 3DS and Vita Japan/US

I'm thinking it will be harder to ramp up software when you are on a new HD hardware and they need to learn how to get the best out of what it has to offer.

I am not looking forward to the first game that wins the Superman 64 award for graphics, you just know some dev out there is wasting a perfectly good WiiU devkit on a title that looks like a wii game

I think most of these gaps will be filled with a lot of enhanced ports - some which will be cool, some which will seem unnecessary.

Must not post the same pic on same page twice!!

Edit

I for one think with the WiiU any game made for 3DS or even DS that doesn't rely on 3D, can be remade for WiiU with it's dual screen goodness.
Plus the DS family of consoles have given developers many years of dual screen thinking, so we should get some good stuff from the get go.

Scribblenauts? Is that confirmed?

Missing:
Multi-sports game("for the whole family") from Ubisoft
6th Ubisoft game (Ubisoft had 6 titles in development for Wii U)

Scribblenauts for Wii U was mentioned a bunch of pages ago. And since 5th Cell is working on a Wii U game - this could be it.
