Wii U Speculation Thread 2: Can't take anymore of this!!!

Yes, I know and I will, but I like GameCube.

Yeah, I hope they do have gamecube games on VC. I just can't see buying any. I already have the ones I like. Perhaps if they were in HD, but I don't even know if that would be possible. I'm sure that's already been discussed here many times though.

Well, with the sprinkling of Wii U games announced for Oct. 20-30th, I'd place my money on that semi-confirming an August JP release and a September rest-of-world release.

So each day, I'll turn up the opacity and size of the moon + add something.

Or if someone ask to add something, just call it before.
The windows from the building looks like a playground for pixel art. Maybe someone can think of a 86 pieces pixel art and you can fill one pixel per day xD

Yeah, about the only game I would buy from the U-store would be Tat vs Cap and maybe Xenoblade. Oh yeah, I would get Rhythm Heaven as well, and Punch Out!!. Hey wait a second...

I think its 1.5 GB discs, or maybe a little more. Shouldn't be a problem with an external harddrive.
Gamecube's mini-DVD holds 1,5GB so almost all games are below that. Only a few games (RE4, MGS: The Twin Snakes, Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos, etc.) were on two discs.

So yeah, shouldn't be a problem, especially since Nintendo is planning to make retail games downloadable on 3DS.

What I can't fathom is how the move is in any way superior to the wii u's setup. 10.5 million move controllers sold is mediocre to piss poor, especially considering that's not equivalent to installed base, just how many controllers have been sold. Hell, Wii Fit has had a bigger impact than move.

You know, I think the play-games-on-the-controller-screen-thing is one of the best ideas with the Upad. Anyone else really love that idea?

Yes... I had a damned dream about it. @_@

Yes, i love that idea too. But i think it also means the tablet screen musn't get too important in games, because if you have the main screen on the tablet, you can't use the tablet screen features in the same time.

Worst thing is, I'm gunna have glasses and braces. I'm a K-Pop and video game geek and will get hyped over E3.

Sounds like a really bad hipster movie, anyhoo, back on topic... I'm seriously craving Eternal Darkness II right now. Awwww maaaan

That feature alone will sell a lot more Wii U's than people seem to think. Playing actual next gen games on a proper, handheld gaming device will be a big deal to a lot of people. (I don't have the link handy, but most people play handheld games at home anyway.) Parents and spouses will also love the idea of having access to their TV's while the gamers in their households still get to enjoy the latest and greatest games.

Also, this'll sound stupid for sure, but nearly finishing The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest, I would seriously love a video game adaptation of the David Fincher versions of the movies.

I mean, with time taken and an OST by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
That. Would. Kick. Ass.

Also, DAMN. TELEBORIAN. YOU MESSED UP BRO

If the WiiU brand was included in the announcements, and marketing for those games, then yes. But because its mostly, if completely absent, for all we know the WiiU versions will be different enough to warrant a release a few months after. Which then still points to a November launch.

Man, I remember the Wii launch. Saved all my money for that console and preordered it at Amazon, and they said they couldn't send it on schedule. That was two days before Christmas.
One day later, almost in the evening, an Amazon box appeared. With the console inside.

Winter and new consoles together is the best thing; believe.

It's the thing I'm looking forward to the most. If they can get a strong enough signal and tech good enough to keep bandwidth low, enabling me to play in my bedroom (I have a small house) I will be absolutely chuffed. If they then do GC VC games and put Super Mario Sunshine on it, I will cry tears of joy every night.

Cooky needs braces!

lolololololololol oh you
Also, don't remember if it was in the same episode, but "Skinner says the teachers will crack any moment, purple monkey dishwasher!"

Ugh, it'll be getting into Summer here if the U does launch in December or November, meaning if I have to run from school to EB Games (read: 1.5-2km) I'll get there looking like I was blasted by a Pokemon. (I swear that's my console launch-day persona, if I have to go to school, which I usually do, but if the Wii U builds up demand, I'll stay off and get there early, but anyway, I usually end up missing the bus or it fills up and, yeah. I get pissed.)

It was so worth the 3DS though.

I doubt we could ever determine the Wii U launch date(s) by looking at when the games we know it will get are released. Hell, Nintendo probably hasn't determined the Wii U launch date yet. (Or the price, for that matter.) Also, "launch titles" are merely games that are released within the "launch window", which is just some arbitrary length of time in and of itself.

EDIT:
...

The problem with Sunshine is that it depends on the Gamecube controller's analog shoulder buttons. That's something they could solve with either a new Classic Controller, analog (and digital-click) Wii U shoulder buttons, or maybe Wavebird support.

If they launch NN on day one, I'm pretty sure we'll see Sunshine and Windwaker as the first GCN titles. Probably in 1080p, but still awesome. Would be great to be able to play on TV and google for hints on the bottom screen at the same time. I'm glad I completely missed the GCN-era, will help me survive the software drought period, which won't happen, hopefully. :)

I'm guessing some GCN titles for VC will be given improvements and they'll most likely be compressed for speedier downloading, if such a thing exists.

Like and HD Tingle Tuner for WW.

There is no need to reduce the GC file sizes, I mean, its completely normal to download 20+ gig games on steam. 1.5 gigs is no big whoop.

Yeah, you're right. But it would be a lot more convenient is what I'm getting at.

Also, I think Quantic Dream would be a sweet dev for my Millennium Trilogy idea, as long as they hire the original actors from the movie as voices and follow the script, etc. This will never happen so I'm wasting my time.

Yeah, I downloaded Bortherhood via Steam a few days ago...took me a couple of hours. this is normal. Also, what about letting it get download in the background, while you are able to surf the net and play some VC titles.

Throw in some limited time offer: The first 30 days, a selected or selectable GC game is free for people joining NiN. Nintendo could give everyone who buys and connects the WiiU during launch a special Ambassador insignia as well.

...Couple of hours?
I really need to upgrade my net setup.
I'm running on a 2008-era modem router and plan that restarts and has errors every few hours, it'd take me easily a month to get 20GB down. :L Anyhoo.

Nah, this doesn't sell systems. what about Wii Sports Resort as download for free till the end of 2012, you'll get a free Wiimote anyway and others could get dropped in price to 30$. Would work.
