Wii U Speculation Thread 2: Can't take anymore of this!!!

If it was 1.5 GB GDDR3 then it would have to be (or 196-bit, but that's really pushing it). That bus would end up potentially slower than the 360's though, and wouldn't make any sense if they were increasing everything else by 2x-5x. I'm thinking they crank up the RAM speed, throw in the even 2 GB, and call it a day. As the specs narrow down, balance must be kept in mind. My current breakdown would be this:

CPU: 3.0 Ghz
GPU:600 Mhz
RAM: 900 Mhz (x2 for GDDR3 so effectively 1800 Mhz)

Hmmm, thanks for the response.

I loves my gaming on iOS but I agree with most of what he said.

That keynote is my favorite talk on the industry as a whole. It was very insightful and meant to try and reignite the passion in traditional game design rather than simply bash mobile gaming.

edit: pics killed by accident, dealwitit lol.

and for good luck:

I would love to see at the end of E3 if Reggie was on stage, brought out a big piece of cardboard with "599 US DOLLARS" scrawled on it and was like "Oh fuck no." and falcon punched it into pieces.

E3's are never fun outside of the news.

I posted that already, no one gave a shit.

Well, mostly because there's no real information there.
It's pure speculation and just reposting of stuff we know.
I mean, we can discuss an App Store from Nintendo, if you like, but it's not going to be some huge thing for us, simply because it's not really gaming related.

lmao!!
I never saw the Blur one hahaha

Shut up, Pinky!!

evil Toad <3

And then Blur never charted and got the studio closed.

So, what have we learned?
NEVER INSULT THE MIGHTY NINTENDO OR PREPARE FOR ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION!

Well, I'm just saying. I mean, they'll have some basic apps like they do now. Maybe entice some neat little programs. It'll never be the size of iOS (thankfully), but for the most part it'll be pretty boring. It's the games that come along with their online store that are most interesting.

just don't insult to anyone.
It makes you look mad and desperate
But yeah, Nintendo is a bitch with class

*raises small finger while drinking fancy tea*

As far as the internet knows 4 GBit GDDR3 or GDDR5 chips don't exist. I think 2 GB is very unlikely, and if Nintendo does it they'll have to use DDR3.

Ah, it was DDR3 I was thinking of that had the density change! My bad, I was getting my DDR3 and GDDR3 mixed up! Looks like we'll end up with 1.5GB of GDDR3 then, can't see them opting for DDR3 despite having 2 pools of eDRAM to pick up the slack.

depends how open Nintendo is. If iOS developers could get their big titles on the wiiU app store, it could be a significant market for them, and a big bullet point for Nintendo.

It will be as big as they want it to be. Problem is they probably won't go balls out and it'll just be some tame shop of some sort.

anyway more pixxxx:

viewing angle looks decent

I said that it was only three weeks and three months till E3 a while ago, and I thought that it wasn't so bad. Almost three weeks later, it feels like it was eons ago I said that.

I just realized how much not looking at pictures has been helpful in the wait.

Ouch. Those are pretty.

This is going to be a long wait. I'm a pretty patient guy and don't usually whine for news, but we've gotta get something this week.. right? Right?

lol I didn't know it was a USB port
it doesn't look like it.
I need my glasses! where are my damn glasses!

yeah there is no point of it that I can think of, once they get all the streaming tech done it becomes useless.

Unless they do this weird thing where they use Mini HDMI for 4 player with the controller...
Hmmm.
Actually, that might not be a bad idea. Bundle each controller with a Mini HDMI cable.

I wouldn't even mind if they kept it, might come in handy one day for something, doesn't seem obtrusive.

Would it be possible to charge through HDMI?

If they did do something like that, I'm inclined to believe it'd most likely be a proprietary port that's designed to act as a charging cable as well as a video feed cable

I hadn't seen that New Super Mario Bros Mii pic before. Nice catch. and yes, nice viewing angles.

I still hope there's going to be some kind of charging dock for the controller, even if it's an optional accessory.

They have the stylus on the left again?

fucking nintendo

I guess they're finally being nice to lefties?

Doesn't the 360 GPU have a 128 bit bus with 512MB of GDDR3..? I'm pretty sure it does...so why can't Nintendo do the same..? Developers are used to working with 128 bits of bandwidth so it would make more sense to follow suit, wouldn't it..? :o/
