I'm still iffy on what power other stock holders have when the majority of the stock is apparently held by current employees and the Yamauchi family.

Unless they disney the law, which is probable.

Thanks :-) What u mean by disney the law?

other nugget from the patent?...

Note however that the touch panel is not limited to those of the resistive type, but may be a touch panel of any type including, for example, a capacitive type, etc. The touch panel 52 may be of a single-touch type or a multi-touch type.

Maybe I am wrong but I thought the Wii U touchscreen was only resistive.... perhaps it was updated?

Mutitouch resistive please

Anyway does anyone know how the galaxy note works? it has a thin-tipped stylus and it aslo mutitouch, but however you cant use any sylus on the screen.

It's a capacitive screen but on top of that they've added the same tech that Wacom pens use, you can even use Wacom pens!

But the capacitive screen part has no idea where the pen is and the pressure is detected inside the pen itself.

Is there any chance that Nintendo changes how the controller looks like? Looks like it has lots of unused space making it a bit bulky and if they could slimm it down a bit I think it would look great.

Also is there a chance that Nintendo will show a Metroid game at E3 now tat they want the hardcore poeple on the Wii U?

So what's the general consensus on redesigned console and/or controller come E3? Honestly, I don't expect any changes.

I expect that they'll tuck the sync button back where it was originally. Or at least colour it white, and that will be the extent of the changes for the console itself.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a revision similar to what we saw with the OG DS

I don't see the circle pads going away any time soon though

Unrelated, but AKB48+Me was announced for 3DS, and it's published by Kadokawa.

This makes me tap my fingers, wanting to grab them by the shirt and scream "Guys, does RODEA ring a bell?!" :/

I'm losing faith as more and more Kadokawa games are announced, and the game is done, where is it?!

Moved to Wii U, I'm betting.

What u mean by disney the law?
He probably means Disney creating the Disney Vault so they can re-release their movies to keep them from going into public domain.

Copyrights have a definite lifespan, but it can be as permanent as they want if they keep using it for commercial purposes (re-releasing their movies), which is perfectly fine.

Thanks :-) What u mean by disney the law?

The original point of copyrights was two fold:
A) To give an inventor of something a monopoly on that thing so as to have an incentive for creating new things, thus encouraging innovation
B) To make the monopoly temporary so that the inventor will have to continue creating after profiting from their creation, thus again encouraging invention.

Originally, copyrights lasted a couple decades. That way, if you create something, the government guarantees that you have a reasonable chance of a profit without people pilfering your work. Then it expires, and you have to start being creative again. This went on fairly well until Disney created Mickey Mouse. They (and other, similar large organizations) lobbied pretty hard and created two changes:
A) Inventors don't have to be individuals. If you invent something, you are no longer guaranteed to have a monopoly over your work; instead, your employer is. (← this is a biased account and not entirely true, I admit, but I'm politicking here, so hush!)
B) [and this is the point applicable to my comment before] The length of government protection now lasts many decades past the death of the inventor.

Basically, the running gag is that every couple decades, we get close to the point where the copyright for most Mickey Mouse works would run out, so Disney lobbies to get the maximum amount of years of protection extended, thereby ensuring that even though the creator of the character has long since passed, other people who did not create the character retain control of the character.

Nintendo will most assuredly act in a similar fashion and attempt to ensure that nobody except for Nintendo employees can make a game with the character in it, even when the guy who made them has long since run into his Goomba. :/

ITT, stealth Libertarianism!

They're just making the patent as broad as possible so that if somebody violates it, they can't just say "Ooh, but look! My touch screen is slightly different, so it's not really a violation!".

When do you think they'll start mass-producing the Wii-U? Has it already started?

As soon as the hardware is finished. If the releas date is novemer 17? Two months before? Blueray drives could be produced way way way earlier, to avoid problems in quality, manufacturing and supply.

The secret feature is infrared barcode scanner to make sure you own the game and to register each game to one acount, then if you resold the game it would be useless.

Imagine the backlash.
