JinXing Digital released recently the S7100 that may appear as a Wii U padlet ripoff/replica, it's actually an "android gaming tablet".

You can find the official site on google.

If they show it with Fruit Ninja it must be multitouch.

CHINESE DEVICES ALSO ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN WIII UUUUUU!!111@@àà##!!!

There are pictures of Mario64 and Mario Kart 64 shown running on that device on the info page.

What the...?!

Emulation. Edit: and seeing how it's advertised on their official website, Nintendo should do something.

But talking about this subject may be not recommended, i posted this because the aspect of the tablet is "interesting". Even the layout of the little buttons at the bottom of the screen is similar to the Wii U padlet, it's...amusing :p

They also show it with mario kart on the page. So it will be multi-blue shell too!!

EDIT:

somehow it reminds me of a giant wonderswan color... Must be the double button layout.

2.The other one is more important and he has validated its existence but cannot reveal it due to an NDA. No hint but "good times are coming."

The Wii U reveal is going to be absolute hilarity - no one will care about the spec once the line up details start coming out.

Please, let this come.

Then, it, Smash, and Pokemon can make billions of dollars on tiny figurines or cards, or whatever they decide to sell. Then, hundreds of clones will copy them!

I can see the NFC feature abused by some developers, i hope it's well done, with figurines/other products of good quality, with not exaggerated prices, and a real additional value for the experience within the game these are tied to.

Wishful thinking, i know, but i hope at least Nintendo will have a good & smart utilization of this (even better and more interactive than the Kid Icarus cards). The incomes that this may generate are promising, but they mustn't be detached of interesting & creative ways of using it.

Raving Rabbids: Unearthed
Punch Out: U

and motherfreaking Santa Claus is real.

For sure. Done well, there's huge potential. Done poorly, and not only does it damage brands but taints the technology.

Yeah I feel the same way.

This is probably just hype talking, but I have this feeling in the back of my mind that Nintendo are just going to go wild with the launch. A full on, balls out blitz of info and new games.

At least, that's what im hoping for. I really want this thing.

This isn't the first time I have seen this game mentioned. Super Mario 4 was released in 1990 for the Super Famicom. We know it as Super Mario World.

That would be Super Mario Bros. 4, if I recall correctly. Also, the list is not meant to be entirely serious.

Oh man. I'm not the kind of person who collects anything, but after Kid Icarus's cards, I know Sakurai will think about using figurines for Smash Bros., Skylanders-style, and if he does that, I'm going to lose so much money...

If the console takes the way of "figurines everywhere", then there will no more exist good points to deny the fact that Nintendo Console are toys for children.

Nintendo consoles are doooomed to be casual piece of hardware forever :(

Am I the only one who is always surprised at how low attach rates are. I mean throughout the life of a console the average person only buys 8-9 games?

You need to be a bit careful with the maths here.

The attach rate/tie ratio is software units sold divided by hardware units sold at a given point in time.

Those hardware units include ones that were bought at launch and those that were only bought last month. the ones bought last month probably don't have many games sold against them yet.

If you roughly assume uniform hardware sales then the tie ratio will on average relate to a console bought half-way through the console lifecycle. At the same purchase rate someone who's had the console since launch will probably have bought about twice as many games as the tie ratio suggests (and serious gamers perhaps twice that again).

So if the tie ratio seems about half or less of your gut feel - that's probably about right.

I hope Paul Gale is right and we get some awesome cross platform or 3ds and wii u connected game but reading that article is like seeing an announcement of an announcement or a teaser video for a teaser trailer type thing.

…that's totally wicked! :D

It makes me want to randomly buy a Vii.

You guys! The "game" section on this tablet's advert has like seven Super Mario icons, a Link, and a StarFox! It's basically being pushed as a cheap up-to-N64 emulator (but is also a low-spec Android machine).

This one is actually tempting, as shitty West-of-Pacific knock-offs go.

edit: I see you all covered this stuff really, but I wanted to just post my knee-jerk reaction anyway. :D

translation: I love making money!

Well, that's certainly a different tack compared to the last guy who was asked pretty much the same question.

tl;dr: "Will you port your port to Wii U?" "I hate advertising and like inaccurate Sales-age."

edit: That's slightly unfair of me. It's really just the inaccurate Sales-age part that is starting to turn me against that earlier fellow.

I care about the specs. :(

It's just that I care about actually interesting specs, like "minimum pressure sensitivity of touch screen", "resolution of electrostatic haptics and screw you Nintendo if you don't have it", "bandwidth/latency of controller data transmission protocol", and of course "number of Marios running around on spherical surface".

Seriously, Mario 128? lolol, let's see Mario 4096 in action, baby! It'll be like grey goo, only the particles will be little red and blue specks of Mario

How can they make the absolute best knock-off emulator device ever, and omit shoulder buttons. FFS, Chinese people.

I think the fact it hasn't been confirmed is reason enough to presume it's not the case until it's been confirmed.

I agree, but I'll be pretty disappointed if you can't play VC stuff on the tablet. That would be a huge draw, IMO. I'm also wondering how far you can be from the console when playing on the controller.

I'd expect most publishers may be keen to use it for things like scanning online passes, eshop download cards etc. ..or as an additional anti piracy measure (include an electronic sticker on every game box which has to be scanned by the controller before the disc will play).

Wow. Wait, how do they manage to emulate Nintendo 64 games? I mean, I guess they could somehow cheat and use those "Select" and "Start" buttons for A and B (and have an actual Start button virtual on the screen, as it's out of the way on the N64 controller anyway), but how would they handle L and R? It wouldn't be all that great to put them on the screen, as you need to be able to touch them at the same time you're controlling the analog directional and other buttons. Weird that they push the N64 games so hard in their highly sketchy venture.

My impression is that NFC will end up like WFC (no pun intended with the similarity of the acronym) -- a cool sounding feature that is criminally underused.

So if you put PS360 each on 40000000 units sold and Wii on 80000000 units

it will be 364000000 software units for 360
it will be 332000000 software units for PS3
and it will be 616000000 software units for Wii

that is not a bad thing for Wii and I'm sure you can find a good place on Wii with your game!!
what?

Er. This is the US breakdown. The tie ratio can vary dramatically from region to region, so it's probably a bad idea to apply one region's tie ratio to the world's hardware sales.. Do we have approximate numbers for Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US as of that date?

Also, PS3 and 360 as of end of last year were both substantially higher than half the Wii hardware total.

Edit, sales up to March 2011 for the Wii were 86m, so the number is probably ~90m or higher as of End of year 2011

Edit²: No, here we go. Assuming legit, non-chartz source, it's Wii=95m, 360=66m, PS3=62m as of end of 2011. But this is still relatively useless unless you can find tie ratios for the world.

Edit³: But anyway, if we made the crazy pretend assumption that those were actually Worldwide tie ratios, the software unit sales totals would be:Wii=731.5m, 360=600.6m, PS3=514.6

Edit⁴: Please note that in an earlier post, I dug enough to learn that the Wii had done 695.37m software sales by end of 2010, and the PS3 source here is sketchier) had done 438m by March 31, 2011. Apply that knowledge as you will.

Sorry did a mistake...

then the softwarenumbers for US should be:
Xbox360: 333970000 sotware units with around 36700000 HW-units
PS3: 190070000 sotware units with around 22900000 HW-units
Wii: 328790000 sotware units with around 42700000 HW-units

Not that good than before but still very good I would say!!

A new nsmb for both Wii U and 3DS would be the worst possible outcome.

I'd like to at least see a new art style implemented with the 3DS title.

If there is a multiplatform 2d mario game I fear it will look almost exactly like NSMBwii on the 3ds and NSMBmii on the wii u, one being 3d and the other being hd. I don't know if that makes any sense but I could see Nintendo doing that because its probably cheaper that way.
