Wii U Speculation thread IV: Photoshop rumors and image memes

I'm thinking it probably will go up, losses were a lot lower than forcast and lower it seems than analysts predicted

I once ran an AMD news site and, moments before the close, posted a jokey news bit about how they had massive losses instead of expected earnings. There was a darkened spoiler thing that said "Just kidding!" or something like that, but several people in my (~10k) readership sold off on their AMD stock because of it and were massively pissed off at me when, minutes later, AMD released higher than expected earnings.

The twist? The stock went down hard the next morning despite the great earnings compared to expectations, so anybody who accidentally sold, thinking that the company was in ruins, kinda won out and could buy back in at a much lower price.

Moral: Doing better than expected doesn't always make your stock go up.

The current version, though I have one (that's far from finished) with BY2K's avatar replacing Leia's face. Since Burnt Pork deserved to be on the picture (but I had little idea how) I just replace the comets/asteroids in the background with his Iwata avatar. I also wanted to work on the area around your face.

Haha, awesome.
:D

In that Forbes article we have this depressing "called out comment"

When the Frankenstein monstrosity known as the Wii U ships, and is met with a solid ‘Kerplunk!’, Nintendo is going to be forced to make the hard licensing and IP decisions it should be making now.

So many people wanting the console to fail.... It just seems weird to me.

This is very true. Its why I think Nintendo needs to be aggressive with the Investors meeting too. They keep casually talking about Digital Games etc even in the new report. They need to come out and say Bam August NSMB2 will be Digital and Retail etc and address Wii U

Exactly, the last Investors Meeting was GREAT. The infamous Hype Train was made, loads of wacky predictions were thrown out and everyone was having a really good time. The shocking thing was that we actually got a stream of really great tweets too, overall it was a brilliant mini event and it perfectly justifies excitement for this one.

I really dont see big releases getting simultanious reatail and digital launch, i'm thinking it'll start with out of print games that publishers think are too risky to make another batch of

And yet, things seem much more muted this time around..

If Nintendo (like so many GAFers) think they don't have to dish out info because they just had a Direct, I'll send Iwata to die a grueling death agianst a ghost guys, his golden pants won't save him dammit!

(shouldn't post while eating, damn missing words)

Ha, my browser crashed right after I read this and I had this video in another folder, and it played automatically: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=Qw9oX-kZ_9k&NR=1

Kinda fitting. Anyway, While Dave Thier is only a freelance writer, Forbes honestly ought to know not to accept an article of this standard. The language is good but it contains insufficient analysis on multiple levels; seems more or less like something playing on recent articles of the same caliber. And I don't get why some many people want Nintendo software on smartphones and similar devices, I don't see any demand for Halo 4 on iOS or God of War on Android... some people perhaps just enjoy thriving in spite.

Guys it should be 2 hours away, 2 and a half at the most.

Edit: last one started at around 8:15 pm EST I believe. So I guess it could potentially be in a hour considering we jumped froward a hour..

Lol awesome, I've got a black one. Used it for my Limbo dude costume.

Nice. I actually ordered a "lake blue" one, as I need to make a swimsuit costume but can't find any monochrome outfits of the right layout -- I'm going to just cut this one up until it looks like how I want it.

The checkerboard one was just because the site I ordered from has a minimum order amount, and I liked how it looks. Going to a Burn soon, so I'll need something appropriately off-kilter. :)

Fuuuuu--

I have to get home! Definitely don't want to miss this one. Maybe I'll be back in time to fry up some quesadillas to properly enjoy
be disappointed by
the call.
