Wii U Speculation Thread The Third: Casting Dreams in The Castle of Miyamoto

We're going to get "Mr. Miyamoto's Wonderful World of Tape Measuring" at launch.

The tag line will be. "How big do YOU think it is?"

or "Measure your junk! You'll be surprised!"

Or maybe he could steal from Conan O'Brein and do a Stackenblochen game!

That rumor sounds too good. Never heard of the site, but it kinda feels like those ridiculous lists of supposedly upcoming surprise games at E3, that always appear several weeks before.

Have you guys seen this yet:

For comparison's sake, here's what was revealed for the Wii at E3 '06
Wii Sports
Metroid Prime 3
Zelda Twilight Princess (Wii Version)
Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Excite Truck
Project HAMMER
Disaster
Wii Music
Mario Galaxy
Smash Bros. Brawl
Fire Emblem

[+ Originally unveiled as GCN games: Super Paper Mario, DK Barrel Blast]

So 11 Wii games unveiled, with 3 new IPs (Wii _, Disaster, HAMMER) and 4/5 launch games (Sports, Zelda, WW [JPN launch], ExciteTruck, + MP3 was originally scheduled for launch)

So this story is either believable or just made up based on precedent depending on how you look at it.

GameCube reveal at E3 2001

Smash Bros Melee
Pikmin
Wave Race Blue Storm
Kameo Elements of Power
Eternal Darkness
Raven Blade
Metroid Prime
Star Fox Adventures

Am I forgetting anything?

Why do some people that one of the most innovative companies out there will release a sports game as launch game again?

Besides, motion controls and sports fit perfect. Pad and sports? No.

Pad and sports go together excellently... but more for the serious sports games.

I don't come in here very often since there isn't anything to talk about, but I actually applauded at that OP pic

you nintendo fans are CRAZY

the good kind

E3 2006 is a fine example of what happens when Nintendo holds-out sooooo much for their E3 showing.

I'm hopin' and prayin' that they go "2006-nutzo" once again. It's gonna be a tough feat. 2006 changed the course of gaming history.. it was an inflection point!

In North America we got Excitetruck at launch.

Also in reference to that article about 4 games coming out before end of 2012, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race, Pikmin, and Smash Bros came out in North America in the GameCube's first two months. I don't know what things were like in Europe though.

Perfect Dark 2 and that Pokemon party game.

I very much want Pilot Wings Wii U, with stunning graphics that really show off what the hardware can do, and all the HUD info is on the small screen. Now that would be amazing to me!

I think we have the next Thread theme

I was just thinking something random: what would you think of Rhythm paradise at launch on WiiU?

I know it should be a bit early, still it could make a good launch game me thinks.
