Well, there are very good reasons that works in progress games don't ever make it out.
They're often prone to crashes and awful glitching.

But why would anyone want to hav esuch stuff. Most devs don't care about that stuff later on.lol at the responses i'm getting. It'd be a nice collector's item is all. Like having Dinosaur Planet in your collection. Something that will never happen but it's nice to dream.
I think a compromise is in order. Captain Falcon action RPG co-developed by Platinum and Monolith.

it's like: let's try this and that. Yeah no, didn't work out. Scratch it and throw the cd away.
and you are ready to go trought the bin and check all that "awesome stuff".
i don't wanna sound mean or anything. But....why?
what do you need a copy of starfox adventure with worse graphics, a cat in the main role, a buttload of bugs for?
please tell me!
Behind the scenes? Cool! Cutted stuff! Sure! (even if i think that MOST bigger cuts come for a reason). It just interests me really. As a film and theatre maker i love watching behind the scenes stuff on movies and i like watching the scenes that didn't make the cut esp. the ones without any modifications to the image like fiddling with he saturation, the contrast and colour as it just shows the bare bones product of the actors and contrasts with how much work goes into the final product in the final moments of production.
Something about that i guess... Plus it'd be quite rare.![]()

but would you really want to take a inside view of a rew, uncutted, non edited version of a Werner Herzog movie.
sounds like the worst time of your life.
rare? maybe (not really) worth a shit in a few years? No.
Edit:
Answer if you want. But we both should end that talk here. This is terrible off topic, lol
Uch! *hands over copy*Agreed, but certainly it wouldn't hurt to have a copy lying around?![]()

don't worry, we'll look back and say the time flew by
Is anyone having trouble concentrating on the games they're playing right now?
Lately, I'm playing, playing, ... and then that thought sneaks into my mind: "gotta check The Thread. What if I'm missing something?!" *save*quit*
And it's only going to get worse as the year goes by. :/

From past discussions people said it they would have to do it individually for each game for 1080p. That makes a lot of sense as to why they wouldn't do it. That and selling HD versions.
I'm trying to watch Once Upon a Time, actually, but it amounts to the same thing.
First, Nintendo doesn't have the penchant for re-releasing games that people seem to think they do. The only previous examples of them doing it were Super Mario All-Stars and the 3D remakes on 3DS. Every single other time, it was to make drastic changes to the way we INTERACT with the game, like the New Play Control series. So this HD re-release nonsense needs to go the way of the dodo.
Second, they may possibly need to do software emulation individually even if they DON'T up-res the games, as one emulation method across all games simply doesn't work that efficiently (see: emulator programs for PC). Furthermore, if a group of nerds can hack together a way to play Wii games in 1080p, Nintendo could probably do it blindfolded, given their intimate knowledge of the architecture involved.
I've mentioned a few times how I would love some flash memory as a cache. I like the cut of your jib.
That reminds me of that idea i had a few weeks back.
pack in a wuhu island hub-world disc (or pre-install). 'cause nintendo fucking loves wuhu island as much as i do.
then give me some events and free/paid DLC events every few weeks.
And make that shit my mii home for me and my friendlist buddys. Make it mii/wuhu island crossing with awesome shit.
bow shooting, bicycle races, cars, partys, event nigts, meetup locations with old games, a news section with videos and or demos.
i would love to some kind of "home" system placed on wuhu island.
I hope they improve the Miis on Wii U. I really like what you can do with your avatar on Xbox360.
Though I love the simplicity now, I think more options and new features would be amazing. What Nintendo does right now with your Mii on 3DS and its camera is a smart move so I really hope they come up with something totally new
But think about what you are saying for a moment. They re-released games to change the way we interact because that's what Wii's primary focus was about. Now we'll have a Nintendo console that's about HD. It's very plausible (virtually likely) that they have an HD series akin to the New Play Control series.
Agreed. Miis are very limited. Hopefully they will make them a tad more detailed considering they are going to be in HD.
I'd love it if Nintendo were to allow users to create their own assets for Mii characters. Maybe an editing/creation program?
I could see lots of clever and sick Miis. Peg legs, colostomy bags, superhero capes, sports helmets, Sweetchuck-from-Police-Academy arm casts, etc etc.. the Mii stuff we've seen this generation would pale in comparison to the weird shit people could come-up with with such a opportunity.
Makes perfect sense considering the new tech, you just edit all the stuff right on the pad. Also, it's a great opportunity to push the 'U' image with penis hats, nipple tassels and creepy fetish gear.

Fixed.
HD re-release would be looked at the same was as on-disc DLC, given that we know the Wii discs themselves already have HD asset potential, and projecting the right image is going to be crucial to Nintendo right now.

Not even remotely.
Is the MGS HD collection looked at the same way as on disc DLC? Team Ico collection? God of War collection?
Bring on the HD collections, Nintendo. If it's not the Nintendo way, they need to MAKE it the Nintendo way, because the fans demand it, and it's easy money for them. You don't say no to a win-win situation.
Oh God. Ewwwwww.
(I just imagined Miya-Samus with a colostomy bag. Oh Buddha no)
Those games are 10 years old, and plumbing the disc will not provide you any evidence of pre-existing HD assets. Wii discs will. Comparison is fail.
i wouldn't mind more mii accessories as long as they're all free
I think they should make first party ones free, but allow third parties the option to either charge for their own, or make them unlockable from their own games.
Adding WiiU tablet controls to a game would require a fundamental re-write of the way the game itself operates and would be seen as unnecessary by consumers when their Wiimotes still work. New Play Control Wii games just mapped more analog input into pre-existing GameCube games and left visuals TOTALLY untouched, because that was what was needed to make them functional with the primary control method on the system. Wiimotes are STILL a primary control method on WiiU.
If increased graphical fidelity mattered that much to Nintendo in terms of reasons for a re-release, NPC Pikmin would have been enhanced visually. Zelda 3DS getting a boost was likely a formality that was REQUIRED of it to get it running on 3DS to begin with.
Just re-releasing in HD isn't the Nintendo way, and why would you re-write a game to work with a new controller scheme when the previous ones STILL DO and you still market as a selling point of your console?

I think all of those options should be on the table. I also feel that Nintendo could sell cool accessories.
I didn't say anything about adding Wii U controls.
What way? This is Nintendo's first HD console so they haven't established "a way" in this regard. You're speaking in broad terms when you talk about "graphic fidelity" and "enhanced visually". OoT 3D is something I see that falls under those. This isn't about that kind of overhaul which is why mentioning Pikmin is irrelevant, though I did see that they added 16:9 widescreen to the Wii version. Looking at that I'd say they would be more apt to do HD revisions than not. But like I said before Wii was all about the interface. That's not the case with Wii U.
I also think you are over-exaggerating with the "on-disc DLC". People wouldn't look at it that way at all. They would appreciate being able to play those games on their HD TVs. I agree with Anth0ny in that it would be a win-win situation.
Terrell, the number of game consumers who are even aware of Dolphin is in low single digit percentages. I foresee a future in which you are disappointed with the BC feature and angry with Nintendo for publishing lazy HD remasters of Wii content. It is your destiny.
I just hope that they'll throw new emulators into the VC rom packages so that they'll output in 1080p. Wii discs don't stand a chance.
I addressed OoT3D in my post, look again.
16:9 was added to Pikmin so it didn't look like garbage when it was stretched. That's not an "addition" to graphics, that was a damned necessity, considering no TV made in the last 5 years is still in 4:3.
And it's not exaggerating. On-disc DLC is being asked to pay for something you already have. HD re-releases of Wii games is asking me to double-dip for something I technically ALREADY OWN. I'd only buy an HD re-release if they basically re-did the ENTIRE graphics engine for the Wii games included, but looking at current HD Collections hitting the market? Not gonna happen. So we'll be re-buying the same damn disc, just with the software tweaks to push it to 1080p. If there's a distinction for being asked to pay for something I technically already own, I'm not seeing it.
Please please please do not compare anything anyone else has done with HD releases and DLC to what Nintendo will do.
Well, that's just it... I'm not. People saying they'll do HD re-releases instead of full-on remakes seem to be, though, considering there's been no release from Nintendo that has ever done so intentionally without it being an outright remake or with a WHOLE bunch of new content. OoT3D got visual enhancements because it's a waste of manpower to scale it back to its original presentation method on N64 during the porting process, so was basically a pleasant no-fuss bonus that HAD to happen to get it on the 3DS anyways.
Those are remakes, dude, 3D effects don't just magically happen when a rubber stamp is applied to them. Not the same thing as an Wii HD re-release being discussed here.I suppose they also HAD TO improve the assets on the VC releases on 3DS .... excite bike e.t.c??
To me those games represent what Nintendo.HD collections will go through.
