Wii U Speculation Thread The Third: Casting Dreams in The Castle of Miyamoto

I cannot even read a full page of that WiiU weaker thread because most people who follow this thread know better but that thread if full of believers that the news is FACT and Nintendo is just doing as they have always done

yeeesh

007 thread was cute with all the people trying to accuse shiggy of being a viral marketer.

If activision puts a solid effort into the game could be alot of fun. Padlet certainly opens up gadget ideas

Maybe about 4 years into the Wii U's life, but at the beginning? No way would I purchase it, it only encourages them to make more, and that is never good for development of new games.

Also, I like the blue plastic for the case, is that artistic license or confirmed? I always thought that would be a nice colour scheme for it, although I can see it being confused with Blu-Ray.

Not being funny but I would hate that to happen. I get the desire but I feel these HD remastered games takes away valuable resources that could be used to create interesting and unique games.

The Wii was a monster hit but 3rd partys just did nothing on it apart from clones of Big N games, just wait and see and waiting and oh it a test game buy A and you may get B

Third-parties made a lot mistakes on the Wii and much of it was due tot their own incompetence, laziness, and lack of faith. However, some third-parties offered up creative uses of the Wii remote and learned from their mistakes as well. I don't feel it's necessary to compile a list of all the sweet games third-parties have put on the Wii, but we know many of them are exclusives.

I'm too lazy to do it but it would have worked better as a box if the designer went with a simple TRIFORCE theme

hello? 3 games TRI

so box am fail

you could have had each link in a different triangle to make up the symbol
but anyway who would Nintendo hire to make these HD ports?

I was under the impression that these hd remasters are relatively easy to make.

I guess it's easier to rebuild a game with better assets but I still would prefer the studios involved to work on new stuff.

Wouldn't the whole idea of selling HD remakes fly in the face of the "only art style and gameplay matter" premise? I know it's a compilation, so there's value in that, but really...

In the end I want a new game. OoT 3D was enough.

Beautiful. I can imagine Nintendo revealing something like this at E3 2014.. right before they unveil a 3D version of A Link to the Past.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The HD remaster wouldn't mean much to me, but the bonus content would most certainly be an attractive proposition.

To be fair, Nintendo had never really taken that stance on all their games. Simply that they stress the importance of gameplay being a compelling factor to a game.
With Zelda, specifically, they have said that presentation and graphics are a big part of the series.

is it the 26th yet? Thursdayton cannot come soon enough... save us from the great day of the Flood by leaking a bit of the pressure

why do you do this to yourself?

Edit: Reread what I said, and it doesn't make much sense.

I know, it's just sort of strange at first-glance when you've been conditioned to think of Nintendo having that philosophy that they never really stated. Like I said, it would be full of value in being a compilation alone.

Grezzo did a good job on The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, so a The Legend of Zelda HD collection by them would be nice.

nah they are working on Majora's Mask and A Link to the Past 3D for 3DS

let them have a rest after that... I can wait

That would be so sweet.

...Although I still stand by my opinion that deep down Nintendo won't swallow its pride with Skyward Sword bombing and will release the "HD Master Quest" at launch on Wii U. Especially if WiiMotion+ is in the box.

Them selling this would be quite different from the Nintendo that gave away the Collector's Edition just with a magazine subscription. Two very different Nintendos..

Wait, when did Skyward Sword bomb? It was the fastest selling Zelda in Zelda history, and sold almost 3.5 million by the end of 2011.

Thoroughly impressed by your avy, Dreamwriter. Bloom County is awesome.

For some strange reason, Nintendo Power sent me a second copy. So the second copy remains in my Zelda treasure chest, sealed in its wrapper, never to be opened. It's my second most precious gaming item, only behind my sealed NES copy of the original Legend of Zelda.

I wish I could say mine is in such pristine condition, but it's sheer utility to me has left it a tad scratched, ha.

You probably got the other for registering games with Club Nintendo. That's why they sent me my copy, at any rate.

I'd love an HD master quest of Skyward Sword on Wii U. And I didn't even think the game was that great....but it would look gorgeous in HD.

Then again, I'd prefer a Wind Waker HD Master Quest way more.
