While I wasn't a fan of games that used the accelerometer, simply playing with my hands in any position I pleased made games like MP3 so relaxing.I love the controller if only because the nunchuk/remote combo is so damn comfy.
I agree with the pre-edit sentiment. Not having hands locked together is a great, great thing.
I do wish that Nintendo did a more middle of the road approach, something that would have allowed usage of the new features of the remote/nunchuk without making compatibility with existing games hard. I believe now, as I believed years ago, that they could have gotten away with putting an analog stick, four face buttons (in the GC layout), one fewer dpad, and one additional shoulder button on the remote, then putting that dpad on the nunchuk, essentially creating a split Wavebird, without really freaking out the folks looking for simpler gaming experiences. I think the only downside would have been the loss of the sideways NES controller mode.
