Why?
The madness might kill him.
Why?
Ahaha. And still hardcore gamers won't care. Just like with the Wii. All eyes and core games will be on PS4xboxnextshootdudeintheface
His preferences differ from yours somehow! Scary, I know.Seriously? good god
It's very simple actually. Quality, which is the only important metric here, is completely subjective. The Wii has great Nintendo games, and the occasional 3rd party gem - sure. But in pure volume and quality of AAA titles, and overall 3rd party support, the Wii is simply outclassed by both competitors. Frankly, I don't see how anyone can suggest otherwise.
If this thread is any indication of how people are going to act during E3, then I may need to limit my access to this forum come June for my own sanity.
Yep.It isn't. It'll be WAY WORSE.

The gaming consumer isn't one mind with all the same interest and perceptions of value. That doesn't mean you can't discuss anything, it just means you have to do a better analysis of the market(s).Well, on that same scale, value is also completely subjective. So what's the point of any discussion?

The system looks very cheap quality. Apple already done with the white plastic thing ages ago and now went to glass and metal.
My excitement is connected to my preferences, not yours.I don't know why people are so excited for this thing.
You've never seen GAF during E3?
Hoooooooooooooo boy.
This thread is like a nice sunny day compared to E3.
What time is this thing at?
The system was there just enough to get media coverage. It doesn't seem to be playable to the general public. The picture that this thread originated with is from a set. The WiiU is connected to the TV off to the left and it is running the Zelda demo. The tablet controller just shows the logo. You can see it on ABC News by following this.
Nope, just talking about the console. So there are no new pictures of the Wii U and there have been 300 new posts since I last checked this thread?
Eeeek. Not feelin' it this time, Nintendo.
I said it before, and I'll say it again. Getting to play Nintendo's franchises in HD is enough to get me hyped.I don't know why people are so excited for this thing.
"Makes absolutely no sense."This is why I love GAF. No real information about the system other than it has a touchscreen controller and streams directly to the touchscreen. Yet, people feel the need to discredit it right away. Makes absolutely no sense.

Yeah. That plus this console might get good third party support this time.I said it before, and I'll say it again. Getting to play Nintendo's franchises in HD is enough to get me hyped.
Who do you think is the 5% that makes sense."Makes absolutely no sense."
That pretty much sums up 95% of GAF.
it's not even a touchscreen controller, it's a traditional controller with a touchscreen on it.This is why I love GAF. Makes absolutely no sense.
Me, I AM THE 5 PERCENT!Who do you think is the 5% that makes sense.

My prediction: It's going to be marginally better than a 360 hardware-wise and priced at 300$ probably. Will be justified by Reggie because it has a "revolutionary" controller that's about as revolutionary/useful as 3D on 3DS.
Then they'll show Galaxy 3 or some Galaxy spinoff as the Mario game, some footage of Pikmin and Wii Sports HD. Whatever Zelda is in development won't come out until the end of the generation and nobody will complain about how slow/inefficient this is because Nintendo is infallible. It'll have the same multi-plat ports as the other consoles maybe with some special exclusive armor DLC, and the online will be atrocious because this is Nintendo.
I see no hope for this at all in terms of being superior to PS4/next xbox unless they go mad with the games. No Vitality sensor old lady shit and fuck happy family montage garbage (all 3 companies do this now so it's not just Nintendo but they started it). Show Starfox 64 sequel, Mario 64 sequel, a 3D Donkey Kong, a new IP with the same resources as a Mario game etc. all of that and I'd be hyped for it. Anything less and it'll be another Wii which was dreadfully disappointing to me.
It was you all along huh?Me, I AM THE 5 PERCENT!
Most were about the touch screen and why, in some people's view, Nintendo cheaped out.-white plastic looks cheap
-the whole thing looks like a Fisher-Price toy
-the bezel on the controller is huge; I want a .5mm bezel with the buttons/analog sticks mounted on a razor's edge on the side of the controller
I don't feel like going through all seventeen pages--did I cover most of the posts in this thread?

Aw son of a bitch.

I remenber a bunch GAFers moaning about having to hold a DS3 with one hand when the Move was announced.

Good luck with that.

Same hereRead the title as "Wii U Sports at CES"
I thought the controller screen would be a bit bigger.
I'm ready for NintendoHD, I have an HDTV and everything.
Sadly my HDTV has all its HDMI ports full.
You can probably also support it with your other hand on the back or with a stand like people usually do with tablets. You're going to have the tablet sitting on your lap regardless, unless you think you can hold something almost as big as the gamecube keyboard controller for hours without crippling your wrists.
Who do you think is the 5% that makes sense.

There's a thing called your lap, or legs, on which your controller can rest on.
