Are they physically in a bed or not? Now we're redefining being in a bed? C'mon....
I'm just pointing out that there is a difference to being
in bed together rather than merely sitting or resting on a bed. Maybe the chairs are taken up by their friends or there are no chairs, or just other places to sit. Just because they're on a bed doesn't mean anything.
When I was about twenty or so, my sister was babysitting someone for a neighbour, who we barely knew. He was about four at the time, and everytime she babysitted him he would call down to my room to watch me play on my pc, or ask to play on it himself. As my sister moved away, and as he was spending most of his time in our house with my brother (a year older) and the two of them either playing on my computer or watching me play, I was his babysitter from then on.
Over the years, he stayed with us many times, or I was asked to go down to stay with him there, and we became good friends. I'm sure that if someone who didn't know me saw me sitting on the bed with him reading Calvin & Hobbes, they would probably think the worst. After all, what would two people with such a huge age gap - an adult and a child - have in common? Well, plenty! We just clicked as friends, we - sometimes with my brother, sometimes not - would play on the computer with each other, go for walks down to the nearby ruined castle with the dogs, sit on the grass and talk about life, the universe and everything.
I'm turning thirty six this year, he's turning twenty two and has just finished his degree at college, and because that college is a few hundred miles away, we hardly see each other at all. During his most recent visit he had to finish some coursework so I loaned him my laptop for a few hours - his mother came to collect him at 11pm and he gave her his bag, and said he'd take a taxi out home, as he hadn't really had a chance to spend any real time with me due to his college work. My flatmates - other friends of his - went to bed soon after but he stayed with me until 3am, watching television, catching up and just having a laugh.
If you'd seen us at any stage before he turned eighteen, maybe especially when he was a child, you'd probably think the worst. But you'd be wrong, and I think you're wrong about the image that caused all this ruckus.
How Can Those Pictures Be Real If Our Eyes Aren't Real
Ha! Perfect.
