They broke through. Neverwinter Nights by them would be even bigger than Baldur's Gate.
But, but Baldur's Gate is a bigger name than Neverwinter Nights? They broke through. Neverwinter Nights by them would be even bigger than Baldur's Gate.

I wouldn't mind, honestly. A good Icewind Dale title would be awesome. And after they finish Neverwinter Nights, they roll right into making Icewind Dale. We can call it The Forgotten Realms Trilogy.
I would say the names are on PAR with one another. Really old PC games. But, but Baldur's Gate is a bigger name than Neverwinter Nights?
I think its 50/50.
They are popular enough but not quite as mainstream as games like God of War, The Last of Us, The Legend of Zelda, Elden Ring, The Elder Scrolls and Halo.
I think if i was to make a tier of popularity/mainstream they would be sitting at B.
Like for example:
S: Call of Duty, Fifa, Spider-Man, Fortnite, GTA
A: The Legend of Zelda, The Last of Us, God of War, Elden Ring, Skyrim, Final Fantasy VII
B: Baldur's Gate 3, Dark Souls, Doom, Nier Automata, Persona 5
C: Dead Space, Devil May Cry 5, Sekiro, Street Fighter 6
D: Prey, Kingdom Come, Disco Elysium, Hitman
E: Pathologic 2, Rain World, Thief: The Dark Project
F: Unknown stuff
For me its the perfect spot, you dont really sell your soul and at the same time you get good amount of popularity for accolades and revenue so that you can aim higher next time.
If they stay in that spot its like excellent, if they get too popular then im afraid things are going to get worse, anyway cant tell until their next game drops.
Thief: The Dark Project is a classic, dude. I would rank it higher a little bit. But all in all good list.
You think Street Fighter is less known than BG3 and Nier Automata? Isn't it the best selling fighting game franchise?Like for example:
S: Call of Duty, Fifa, Spider-Man, Fortnite, GTA
A: The Legend of Zelda, The Last of Us, God of War, Elden Ring, Skyrim, Final Fantasy VII
B: Baldur's Gate 3, Dark Souls, Doom, Nier Automata, Persona 5

F: Unknown ststuff
Yeah, i think SF6 is less popular than them. You think Street Fighter is less known than BG3 and Nier Automata? Isn't it the best selling fighting game franchise?
Why?I think you have to judge a game for when it released and by that measure, and probably any other, Thief's notoriety is well beyond Pathologic or Rainworld.
Why?
And are you sure? i honestly think its about the same, like people may know Thief but few actually played it, same goes with Rainworld and Pathologic, i think their popularity is about the same.
I've never heard of Pathologic or Rain World. Thief was very popular back in the days though. The metrics for success are far different today than they were in 1998. Further, your average gamer has certainly heard of Thief and inversely probably hasn't heard of Pathologic and/or Rain World.
Bro those rankings are all over place. BG3 has probably already outsold OG FFVII lifetime units or closing in.I think its 50/50.

Also, from perspective of franchise, everyone and their dog knows about Street Fighter. That includes a lot of folks who don't game. The metrics for success are far different today than they were in 1998.
