Ehh I'm not sure yet. I'm always excited for new hardware but all I really play on PS5 is Gran Turismo 7 and Astro Bot. My kids use it for Hogwarts. PC is my PS5 Pro.

I'll probably wait til there's something really compelling. Maybe GTA6

wtf am i supposed to play on the pro and anyone else in my shoes?

I see this comment a lot. Most reason for the Pro for me (I hope) is to play the existing games that suffered from performance issues and bottlenecks getting patched. And if applicable introduced RT features and/or increase in visual fidelity.

For instance, I'd like to see all games that had suffered from framerate issues be virtually gone in the Pro.

FFVII Rebirth's blurriness gets eradicated, running now at 4k/60 with ease and FFXVI's performance issues to where it couldn't maintain 60fps outside battles.

No more modes between resolution and performance. It's BOTH under one option. A dream maybe but that's what I'd like to see. And any games that come out in the future will run mostly fine on the Pro.

Absolutely not wasting money on that thing. For those who need a new toy I'm sure it will suit you well but the consoles have been lackluster hardware and software wise for me. Sold my 2 ps5's and 2 series X's. Will stick with my PC & rog ally x

I will trade in my PS5 for one.

I already made the decision months ago that instead of upgrading my PC to a top of the line card, I went for a 4070 Super and will use the money I saved + the trade-in value of the PS5 to get the Pro.

I'm mostly a console gamer now so a cutting edge console is worth it for me.

I was anticipating PS5 Pro, til all the exclusives started coming to PC and play better there. Maybe I'll buy it if they rescind this strategy.

I voted no, I have modern preferences.

Besides this, we don't know the price...but will the increase of current console prices...I expect it'll be $600 minimum. For $600 I can upgrade mobo, ram and cpu to AM5 platform. Just a better value.

The last Sony exclusive I was in a rush to play (buying on day one) was God of War 2018. I now have Dayz Gone, God of War, Both Horizons, Returnal, Uncharted, Spiderman and TLOU on PC...and was happy to wait.

Getting a preorder that I can canel makes sense on paper, but that's how I "oopsie" forget to cancel the preorder and get it even i it was underwhelming.

Can't vote in the poll as none of the choices suit me (I don't really understand the only absolute no option to be honest).

I'm a no. Will be the first console I haven't bought in a long time (except the slims, I never buy them).

There just aren't any games to justify it.

Absolutely yes if it does what I hope it will. If not, then no as I'm not sure it would be worth the moolah. I want a decent, preferably moderate improvement across the board for all games performance and resolution wise. If it can realistically achieve that then I'd say its worth it to me.

Economy in shambles so I would assume yes so Sony can get $ from retards before Switch 2.

Will stick with my PC & rog ally x

I probably will buy day 1. I don't believe in buying games for only one platform in case something happens. Physical games are dear to my soul even though PC is where I mainly play. Worse case- I return the Pro upon delivery. 🤷‍♂️

I'll try to preorder, but preorders always seem to go live when I'm working and I miss them. I'm going to try to have it day 1 though.

They kinda need more first party games before I consider.....but then again I do game mainly on pc and well......

I know one thing, I won't be waiting in a line for four hours outside a bestbuy in shorts and sandals in the pouring rain and 45°F like I did for my PS5.

I am solidly in the "No price and no window for release" camp. We might get a generic Winter 2024 (but I think winter 2025 is more likely).

Mr. Cerny will walk up to the podium and spew angelic tech specs for 8:35 seconds…the last 25 seconds will be spent staring into everyone's soul.

This. There hasn't been a single title released this gen that I feel the need to upgrade my base PS5 for. PS4 Pro made more sense at the time especially because TVs were all moving to 4k, so at the very least the PS4 Pro took advantage of that as a media player and for the added power for VR (I own the first gen PSVR). The actual benefit to most PS4 games was barely noticeable though.

But this? I'm left questioning what purpose it fulfills. Especially considering the PS6 would just make the PS5 Pro obsolete in the next 3-4 years.

I get that some people are content with how games are running on PS5, but what I don't understand is how you can't see what "purpose" it fullfills. How many times does this need to be explained to you guys and how many examples of games that are struggling to maintain good image quality do you need to hear about? Just this past month we've had 3 games that have big concessions on the consoles.

Purpose #1 Better image quality through a better upscaling solution. Forget 60 fps with a decent resolution, they are soft and artifacty even in 30 fps fidelity mode! FSR2 upscaling has proven to be a failure coupled with these consoles at anything lower than 1440p native- but we're seeing 720p-1080p base res which is way worse. We had better iq last gen on the Pro/SX than we have this gen. The lack of machine learning has been an area of weakness.

2. Ray Tracing-4x greater RT performance would be a big deal as we've seen hints of what RT can do in games like Avatar, Spiderman 2, and SW Outlaws. As good as those games are in RT, none of them hold a candle to what we're seeing id possible on PC with higher res reflections and a suite of RT features instead of getting just RT reflections or RT gi. On console Cyberpunk 2077 is a shadow of the PC version with its Gi/shadows/reflections/ao. I want to be able to play Cyberpunk and other games and get THAT experience.

Also, NO SHIT the Pro will be obsolete in 3-4 years when the PS6 comes out! You talk like 3-4 years isn't a long time from now ...the gap between PC and console is going to be SEVERE if theres no refresh.

4x of almost nothing is still almost nothing. Pro ain't running path tracing at an acceptable or playable quality. A 4090 will still be several multiples beyond Pro and path tracing already puts even it on the back of the struggle bus.

When GTA6 is confirmed as 60fps.on Pro, it's gonna be on like Donkey Kong.

Until then, it'll have niche appeal.

The gen has been defined by Quality & Performance modes. You have to severely compromise in most AAA titles.

Not to mention the use of technologies likes FSR2 that have seriously degraded image quality. If there is RT, that's also limited, or heavily compromised.

Last gen the jump from 1080p to 4K (usually 1440p with Checkerboarding) was a minor bump in clarity.

Been building that nut stash up for a while now so good to go. 😅
Primarily for GT7, everything else is a bonus.

Nope. In Brazil it will probably cost more than a thousand dollars at launch.

In Hell Swerk GIF

Same here in Pakistan. I bought the PS5 for nearly $700. PS PRo would surely be $1000+.
I can afford to pay it, but the exclusive line up is so scarce it seems like a waste of money. Heck I could even pay $2 grands for a PS console but only if they started making grander games like before.

After all of those glowing Astro Bot reviews you can be sure I'll be smashing that pre-order button as soon as it appears.

If it's as disappointing as the ps4 pro, I am not getting it.

The performance difference apart from some loading wasn't noteworthy. I want high fps, not resolution boosts.

You all think you'll have the time to click on the pre-order button? Guys I don't want to spoil your day but AI bot scalpers have already won that game.

Funny how you missquoted the PC part of my post. Both those games will come on PC which will run better. My point stands.

I need to see the price first. And the hardware should be more powerful than in the leaks. I'll probably get it after all as my ps5 is dying. But probably not until a little later.

Serious answers only
Here is my serious answer....no i see no rush in to buy a Pro, i did that a long time ago. I was always buying the newest hardware day one.
I will be playing on my PS5 for the coming years. I am not a guy anymore that is running to the newest hardware like a tech junkie. That time is long gone.

Hell Yeah Wwe GIF by A&E

I been waiting 4 years to get a PS5 and now all my years of waiting is finally paying off. I can finally get a PS5 system without any obstacles or natural causes in my way.

The Sony PS5 Pro! I will be definitely be preordering it tomorrow at my local GameStop. That if the preorder go live after the 9 min presentation.
And that's the bottom line, cause Stone Cold said so.
