Ricky must be amazed Chris Rock is the one who got slapped after absolutely dragging every celebrity for the past decade

Don't think it's staged, how would the conversation go then between the producers and Will Smith: "hey Will, at tonights Oscars, be a dick and slap Chris Rock. This'll be great for our ratings, but totally ruin your moment in the sun and be terrible for your career. Take one for the team, OK?"

That was pathetic... Both it it was staged and if it wasn't.

If it wasn't: Holy shit what message does this send to kids?
If it was: How bloody desperate is Hollywood if they have to resort to stuff like this?

I'm disgusted. That is a new low, even for Hollywood.

Fuck that, it's right in line with the Leftist media's goals. We've already re-segregated things and divided the country via political ideologies and race, thanks in no small part to big tech curating our internet browsing, but now they're trying to break it down further. If you don't vote right, you're not a real black, you're a (slur that's less offensive than the n word but totes still a slur). If you don't side with the black man defending his family from the comedian black man, you're canceled. Now we can't just prostrate ourselves before the entire race of black people and beg forgiveness for the inherited sin of our ancestors, now we have to side with the "correct," black people.

It's all a ridiculously tailor made puppeteering act to just continually divide people into small echo chambers that are purebred enough to cater to, scam, and manipulate against one another. This is tin foil hattish, but it's the way I see the wind blowing, in politics, entertainment, social media, etc.
Wow I never thought of it like that

I'll be honest, I think the joke is hilarious. Even better with the way Chris Rock delivers his jokes.

You'd think a bunch of grown adults would laugh at it. It's not like she's dying from cancer, and everyone knows she's losing her hair. If she hates it that much, get a million dollar wig. My mom has had ratty thinning hair for probably 30 years. And it's as white as snow. She doesn't give a shit at all.

From what I remember seeing her every once in a while in the media, I noticed her short hair too, but didn't know she had that hair disease. But it's public knowledge anyway since those two lovebirds gab about their personal life and martial life for 10 years.

I can understand down and out people being pissed at things because their whole life has been shit, so be made fun of again as an adult breaks your back how much you can take.

With ultra famous and rich celebs you'd think you can yuck it up for laughs knowing everything will be ok. Just like me and all my friends and coworkers or peers in meetings or dinners. Gets to a point, you dont really care if people get made fun of being bald (not me) or being a fat ass (me). Everyone giggles because it's kind of funny at this stage in life. And it's not like were rich or famous.

I'd say this is 90% staged, 10% real.

As Toons said above, maybe there's been some bad blood in the past with Jada jokes. I dont follow celebs, so maybe there's more content out there from Rock making fun of her.

That was a watershed moment for the ‘you can’t make jokes anymore’ movement. Not that it was a joke worth defending but we’ve gone from tweeting ‘I’m offended’ to slapping people. There’s no going back. Ricky Gervais is gonna need to bring a bodyguard on stage with him the next time he does one of these awards shows.

Well yeah, but nobody is actually going to "care" outside of times like that.

It's celebrity drama. Nothing more.

People will care less as years go by, yes. That's human nature with just about everything. Thing for Will Smith is that he's now tied that behavior to what should have been his greatest professional achievement. So while it won't be at the front of everyone's mind for every waking moment for the rest of their lives, it will follow him forever.

“Aww, it’s so...average,” she said to him in a cold brick of passion

Are you okay?

Shit.

Pretty embarrassing and even tho Rock took it as well as he could, that’s going to be a MEME for years! Years!!! At every angle rofl!

Chris Rock looked like Tom Tucker’s Son from Family Guy after that slap.

Will has also been the butt of a ton of jokes recently, so this is obviously pent up frustration.

I don't think Will Smith has ever got into a fight in his life. This has got to be his first altercation because no man who gets into a tussle slaps another unless they are pussies.

You go fists like during recess or in the locker room. Man, those were the days! I still remember those scraps. Gave one guy a bloody nose in class in front of everyone.

Tip for all in case you ever get into a scrap with fists flying: Aim for the head, as a head hunter. Grab his collar, dont let go and unleash as many hard shots to his face as possible. You'll be amazed with adrenaline how many bombs you can toss without breaking one drop of sweat. And if you know you are one of those guys who goes red faced psycho when mad, you can take a lot of hits and not feel a thing.

Dont waste your time on body shots like it's professional boxing.

It's so unreal to see the typical "politically correct" and SJW's championing Will Smith.

The dude literally assaulted someone over a joke. I don't care how tasteless the joke was [it wasn't really], how is this okay in any form? But no, Will Smith is a likeable guy and he did it out of LOOOOOVVVEEE, so it's all good.

What a weird time we live in.

Not to mention his wife cheated on him. Him still being with her after that makes him a cuck

Or heaps of people would just get slapped for no reason because someone didn't like what they were saying. So probably the opposite of mellowing out
Agreed.

If adults learned how to take a joke (like every adult tells their 8 year old kid to not fight due to name calling), you'd get much less whiney people. It's not like she's dying from terminal illness.

I still think it was staged with high probability, but if it's real you'd think ultra rich stars who are both around 50 years old wouldnt act like idiot students like me getting into fights in middle school. Class act maturity there.

She lost her hair due to that disease, never cares about putting a wig on, and you got a room of 1000 hollywood stars all rich and famous, and millions of people watching. All people who have their own issues in life, which many are 100x more serious than losing your hair.

Words should not be answered with violence. Doing so demonstrates weakness and immaturity.

It is a modern leftist’s position that words are on the same level as physical violence, and I simply will not take it.

I bet Will feels like he needs to prove himself to Jada so he did something stupid. Should’ve instead showed masculinity by leaving a woman who cheats on you.

That sometimes you just need to fuck someone's shit up. Very valuable life lesson.

No, it does not.
It's Chris Rock doing jabs at an award show. It happens all the time to people.

Just to show nobody cared, everyone was laughing at the joke. It wasn't till he went on stage and hit him it became serious.

It would be much different if the joke was done at a different kind of event, wasnt a comedian doing it, and the second rock told the joke everyone gasped in bad taste. Not true. The crowd of hollywood peers thought it was funny.

Yes and no.

In this case, there is no way (assuming it wasnt fake) for Smith to act like he's Mohammed Ali is appropriate hitting Chris Rock given the circumstances of hollywood peers and a fun night of festivities.

Now, if your doorbell rang and you open it and some random guy comes nose to nose to you and mouths off as if he's going to come after you, then ya I'd punch him.

Totally different in an Oscar event with a comedian on stage cracking jokes.

Even worse, it was a slap.

If anything the joke putting the camera on her face would probably do her career a boost. Looking at her wiki, she hasn't done anything big TV or movie roles in ages. If her and her hubby played it chill as likeable people who can take a joke, it'd improve their image as everyone from average joes to corporations like friendly likeable people who can laugh at self-deprecating humour.
