I think I remember reading that MGS3 was the last in the Solid series, so we are to expect a whole new name? post any MGS4 or Next Gen Metal Gear info here.

I think we'll see it at E3 2006. Metal Gear Solid came out in 1998, right? Then we got a trailer for Metal Gear Solid 2 at E3 2000, and the final game in 2001. Metal Gear Solid 3 trailer comes out at E3 2003, and we get the final game in 2004. I would just expect the next trailer at E3 2006, and the final game in 2007. Hopefully...

2006 would definetly be the earliest. Kojima said this was definetly the last MG for this generation.

As for MG6 info, Lyte Edge recently posted that Murata is rumored to be the person taking over Kojima directors seat for it.

Are they really going to remove the word "Solid" from the title? I thought the word "Solid" represented Metal Gear games in 3D tied to the main series? What would they change it to in that case? Metal Gear Genuine? Metal Gear Perfect?

In Japan, yah its the end of the Solid name according to Kojima. In the US, I figure Konami will still use the Solid brand to sell it.

I'm actually pretty interested in the next MGS. It is an extremely skilled team, and without Kojima and his hangups/idiosyncracies tying their hands, it will be interesting to see what develops.
