Rosol to lose in 4 now.

please work, anti-jinx

STFU Mcenroe, if he can't get past the second round then by definition he shouldn't be at the final stages of a slam.

Such a massive Nadal fan boy.

I found it so odd him talking of this "big four" at Wimbledon and just not acknowledging that Nadal has fell off that particular wagon when it comes to Wimbledon. He needs to prove all over again he has what it takes to win on grass. He's been rubbish ever since the 2011 final. I'm as big a fanboy of Nadal as Mcenroe, but I'm also not blinded by it either.

I just don't get why Rosol can't do this all the time. Regardless of whether he wins or not, he has a killer serve, a good to strong return of serve, and can generate power pretty well. He should be a top 20 player, not drifting around the top 50. Whenever I watch him at a 250, though, all of those things just disappear.

I think mental endurance trumps natural talent (not by much, mind) in the modern game. If you're a bit of a Safin, or only come alive against the top players every blue moon, your natural gifts will go to waste. Motivation is a thing as well. It's easy to be inspired on centre court at Wimbledon, less so in some 250 tournament in the middle of nowhere. It's like that guy who beat Federer last year. He was majestic in that match, had magical, deft touch at the net and played sublime tennis. Come the next round.....gone. A giant killers flame burns very, very quickly in the modern game.

McEnroe's verbal fellatio is getting immensely tedious.

That DF on setpoint. What a flop.

And Gasquet can join Tsonga on the group of mugs that can't finish their matches. What a clown. I hope he loses now.

Unsurprisingly, Nadal was able to squeeze out that set.

*shrug*

Hopefully Rosol doesn't go away though and keeps serving well, but I guess that might be asking a bit much

A lot of players raise their game big time when they get drawn against a huge seed on Centre/Chatrier/Rod Laver/Arthur Ashe at a Grand Slam in front of a full crowd. Easy to give it everything you've got with nothing to lose in that situation, and the big seed might not be top condition or fully prepared for the match.

2 sets played, Nadal spends 25 seconds on average between serves - no warning issued. Why have a rule if umpires don't enforce it? Do your job already.

Oh my god McEnroe, he was a set down, it happens all of the time. It's hardly the mental equivalent of coming from 2 sets and a break down.

He has that tendency to inflate anything and everything. Makes for good commentary at times, but for the most part, it isn't particularly incisive or revealing. Top players have a tendency to eek out difficult tie breakers, even when they're a set down, it's why they're top players. Not many slam winners get to the final without dropping a set. Par for the course, really.

As a Nadal fan, it's the one thing that really, really irritates me. Federer is right in that the occasional warning is pointless when it's never followed up upon when he reverts back to type. Nobody wants to wait forever between points.

Rosol now choking as hard as he possibly can. Well, time to go and get on with the rest of my life.

lol time to tune out and wait the Federer match, this one is done

I'm going to move it to the background and move State of Decay to the foreground. If Rosol wants my attention again, he'll have to break back. That said, I don't think the match is quite done just yet.

Yes Gasquet take that! Thats for being useless and unable to close matches.
And most importantly for delaying Genies match.

Holy shit Kyrgios vs Gasquet ended up being huuuuuge.

5 set match, Kyrgios saves 3 match points. Then in his next service game he serves a double fault to lose the match -- EXCEPT, he challenged and it was actually good.

Gasquet ends up getting 9 total match points - doesn't manage to convert any of them.

Kyrgios breaks Gasquet, then wins his service game to love, winning the match. He only saw one match point, and took it. Crazy. Feel so bad for Gasquet but Kyrgios is going to be a good fucking player.

This match may not be over.
Edit:... or I might have accidentally paged back to early in the second set without realising it...

Lol that was pretty cold from Nadal with the handshake at the net.
Well, Nadal did have seven months to mull over the 2012 loss. It's natural that he doesn't like Rosol much. I'm interested in seeing a Fedal match at Wimbledon now that Rafa seems to be playing well on grass again. The grass tempers Nadal's forehand somewhat, which should allow Federer to defend better against it, even in his declined state.

Federer's having a great season as well. It could be interesting, or it could be like the Aus. Open, which was probably the most disappointing match I've witnessed between the two in terms of expectations pre-match versus the actual result.
