Two more failed updates this morning, both with different error codes, now it has been stuck on the checking requirements part of Windows Update for over an hour. Hopeless.
Probably your video card driver.
That's the same error code I have, I've got 4 errors here but for W10 Home.
Again, same.
How many of you having errors did a manual or forced install? Did any of you reserve the copy and only upgrade after prompted to do so? I'm wondering because perhaps the "we'll upgrade when it's ready" not popping up means MS knows there would be issues with upgrading. Thus they won't give you the upgrade until the issues have been fixed?
But that's just a guess.
Ensure your current Windows is fully updated and choose not to download updates during the Win 10 install did it for me.
Microsoft just confirmed in a blog post insiders with build 10240 are good to go. Still can't get mail and calender to work though.
So is it out out yet?
I'm getting my last to pc parts in the mail today (cpu cooler and psu) and would like to got straight from fresh 8.1 install to windows 10 without any fuckery inbetween.
I'll hold off for a day or w/e if I need to.
Yeah. I got it off here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
installation probably took 30 minutes. Was easy and I'm liking everything so far.
Hmm not so much, errored out. Back to checking the event log for why. Fun!Completely normal!

This is getting annoying.

Can't I just download an ISO from somewhere and mount it?
I just read a passing comment regarding how W10 handles location versus language. Bit worried now (I'm an english speaker in Sweden and my svensk is still pretty crappy).
I have an EN version of Windows but I'm concerned that W10 might 'helpfully' insist on displaying some aspects in Swedish. Is this a thing that the OS does or have I misunderstood that passing comment I saw?
Download is terribly slow though.

Did that and it just re-downloaded the install files (I guess) then it failed to install again. These are the errors I was having, check a couple posts up for the process I am currently following, can't confirm it as working yet though![]()
I've followed the instructions here but I keep getting error 80240020 showing up in my Windows Update, even after rebooting and checking for updates again.
It's the 29th dammit let me install the stupid thing.
It's fine but you won't be able to revert back to your previous OS if you do.Is it safe to delete the Windows folder from Windows.old? Installing Windows 10 took up 10GB over 8.1, and space on my boot drive is precious.
