I'm ready, your move windows

Damn, I don't even see the $Windows.~BT folder in my directory (Yes I have hidden files enabled). I reserved the upgrade the moment they allowed us too, and I hope I don't end up being in the last waves :(

For everyone saying you have hidden folders set to show, did you remember to uncheck the hide operating system files checkbox as well? Something to keep in mind.

Either way, I still have no BT folder.

So I'm having an issue where I don't even have the 'reserve upgrade' button on my taskbar, and I'm 99% sure that it's because some updates have failed to install every time I shut down my computer. I posted about it over on the Microsoft tech support forum, but nothing that was suggested solved my problem. Should I just wait till tomorrow and get windows 10 when it's available without reserving an update, instead of finding a solution to my updating problem?

Do you have all the latest updates for 8.1 (considering if you hvae 8.1)? If so, did you defrag before upgrading?

If I download this, can I install it on any machine I want?
I have a windows 7 machine, but I want to install it on another machine.

Even though I had enabled "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in Folder Options I still had to enable it in the explorer window for the folder to show,

My folder is only 4.17gb.

So it doesn't matter if the other machine is also running W7?
I reinstalled my W7 and suddenly, it is saying I don't have a valid W7 product key. I am wondering if it is possible to install it on that machine.

So if I have a huge Steam collection (like many of you I'm sure) and have software like the Supermodel Model 3 emulator on my machine is there potential for all of that not working in Windows 10?

Is there some way to launch all software in a way that makes it think it's in a Windows 7 environment? Kind of afraid to upgrade...

If you have critical software you need to work day one - don't upgrade until you've heard from enough of a cross-section of users of that software that things are fine.

If it's a legit OS I would try installing it again. You have to get the prompt to upgrade from the taskbar.

Right-click->"Run as: Windows 7?" Been there since XP.

Just upgrade. If anything doesn't work, you have a MONTH to rollback to whatever version you have on the disc. The upgrade WILL NOT clean install/wipe your drive.

My $Windows.~BT folder is 5.98 GB with 16.8k files too! It's been that size for a few hours now.

...why are some people's over 6GB?

Well, I hope my 5.98GB $Windows BT folder installs right away on the 29th.
Mine is at 5.93GB and isn't moving.

Sorry if this has been asked a bunch, but is there going to be a way to do a fresh install of 10? Just bought an external drive and my rig's been needing a wipe for a while anyways.

Idk if this is for all versions but i know its for enterprise:

ANYONE WHO IS RUNNING WINDOWS 10 ENTERPRISE
. You are gonna come up with SO MANY ISSUES unless you run programs as administrator. I mean to the point that all your downloads in firefox will fail if you dont run it as an admin. Paint couldnt save fucking paint files until i ran it as admin.

I have no idea if im doing something wrong or if thats just how it us, but word of warning.

Mine is at 6.03 GB.

I clicked on the Setup.exe in the folder and got this.

I'm tempted to click but I'm afraid that'll bork up my computer since it probably isn't finished with the download or something.

Wait until tomorrow, as running the EXE now will delete everything and bad things will happen.

There's always a chance that Microsoft might release official ISOs tomorrow for those who want to do just that. As of right now the only way would be to upgrade and then initiate a reset from inside Windows 10.

It means that whenever you're selected as part of the phased rollout, you'll get the option to upgrade at your leisure.

Unlikely.

Ohhh. I thought that was the one.

I am not sure about that. I did a disk cleanup earlier today and erased 6.5 GB of data that was in a new category that I never saw before and was related to Windows Install. I deleted it and thought it would just redownload everything later.

Got that folder too and it's 4GB atm

Don't think I'll update to W10 until that drive issue is sorted though it just killed my PC

Even got to the point where all my drivers just suddenly stopped working on boot

Yay! Just reserved after searching for even more updates.

OK...so you guys are already installing? THis is automatic? WHen I wake up tomorrow, I will have Win10?
