worked for my dell venue 8 pro.
But isn't that a clean install disc, and it needs W10 key, which we won't have before upgrading?
So get rid of these folders as well or just the files?

I was looking forward to email notifications, so I set up the Mail app with my Gmail account. But I tried it out and I'm not getting notifications. Anyone know why?

Fucking hell, this is ridiculous.
Whenever I try to update through Windows Updates it just fails now I'm trying through the standalone installer and it's saying my Windows 8 key doesn't work.
Come on.
Eh? So the only way is through Windows Updates? Which won't even work for some people. Brilliant.
I haven't tried it, but reading that page it gives me that impression. That's why I asked.
I tried deleting the SoftwareDistribution/Download directory and running the wuauaclt.exe as per the reddit post, and Windows 10 downloaded fine, but now I'm stuck at this:
It's been there for the last 30 minutes. Is that normal? Or should I just say the heck with it and install from the media creation tool?

This happened to me too. I just stopped the download and reset the laptop and start againI tried deleting the SoftwareDistribution/Download directory and running the wuauaclt.exe as per the reddit post, and Windows 10 downloaded fine, but now I'm stuck at this:

Open the mail app, click the little cog icon to open settings and select options, select your mail account from the top drop down that you want notifications from and then set all the settings at the bottom for notifications if they aren't already on.
I will say, its a bit iffy at the moment and sometimes it just won't do it - it really needs a patch/update as its not as reliable as the 8.1 mail app.
Yeah, I've tried all that and I'm just not getting notifications.
Woke up and it's still only reserved

Bummer, as said though - its very iffy with them as in sometimes i get them and sometimes i don't - it really needs an update to make it more reliable.
With Windows 8.1 i had no issues with notifications on mails, with Windows 10 i get them sometimes and then i don't (like this morning I've had 5 emails and not one has pinged me with a notification).
Is there a way to merge windows accounts? My xbox is under one and my pc another. Because I'm an idiot. Am I boned for the cross pc/xboc stuff?
Anyone know if there's a way to get rid of the user password page?
It took a long while here though (it's extracting/moving files).
I finished the setup process and am now running Windows 10.
I've read that you can't do a clean install until you've already done an upgrade and generated a Win10 key
Yeah. I got it off here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
installation probably took 30 minutes. Was easy and I'm liking everything so far.

Ok so once I install windows 8.1 do I need to register for the upgrade or something? Or can I just install the 10 iso straight away?
Or can I skip installing the 8.1 an put my 8.1 key straight into windows 10 installer?
Did you try a reboot?
