I'm glad i decided to jump in early, i joined the insider program a month and ago and it seems I got a smoother upgrade to W10 than a lot of people in here getting the final release version.

Well the complete process on my laptop each time it updated took like ~40 minutes... so it's not really fast (unless you have an SSD).

anyone else having this issue? The internet is fine on my end so I assume it's just servers being wonky but now i'm paranoid :/
Used the download tool and upgraded without a hitch and key was activated.
Reset to run a clean install and now under system settings - windows activation it reads connect to the internet to activate windows.
It's gonna pester me to enter a serial key now isn't it and I didn't jot it down.
If I do that it deletes all my bookmarks, passwords, etc right? This happened to me, as well. You have to delete the profile in AppData.
yeah, im also getting the activation issues, connected to PC but won't activate
Did you use the media creation tool? I'm starting to think that's the issue. Perhaps you HAVE TO wait for Windows Update to do its thing to get a working W10 license. Shit.
So the installation files are sitting on my HDD since morning, and the GWX app changed from "you have reserved Windows 10" to this:

Am I stuck until Microsoft's "partners" get around this? This isn't even a pre-built PC.I kinda want to try the "deleting everything inside Download folder" method, but I don't want to risk downloading everything again. Maybe it won't since it's all on Windows~BT folder already?
Edit: I did it anyway, and Windows Update is downloading it all again. Oh well, waiting a few hours is better that not knowing how long at all.

Why not use the refresh option? The way I did it, I updated to Windows 10, used the USB to update then used a tool to get a product key then did a clean install and used that product key.

Is the store not working for anybody else? Doesn't come up when I click it neither do any apps.

From the past few posts thats the impression I'm getting as well. I jumped in a wekk early and no problems so far outside of the Nvidia driver fuckery a week ago.
How did you get your key to begin with? I never got one.Used the download tool and upgraded without a hitch and key was activated.
Reset to run a clean install and now under system settings - windows activation it reads connect to the internet to activate windows.

It's still doing this, and I can't X out of it. HalpHow long is the "Preparing for the Upgrade -- Please wait" screen supposed to load? Mine's been going on 15 minutes...
The tool on the microsoft website? Yeah I did
Seems like everyone who did that is having this issue. Maybe it just doesn't work to upgrade that way. I mean, it works, but you don't get a valid license. Sucks! Gonna have to try to get back to W7 I guess (I wonder if it left my system restore partition intact) and then hope I get it through Windows Update instead.
