I am having so many problems trying to install Win 10. But it's not just the installation that I'm having problems with, and it's driving me insane since nothing that I can find online is helping.
I've now tried twice to install Win 10, but both times the installation process stalled at about 25%, leaving me to reboot the system, which reinstalls Win 8.1. Once that is done, the error I get is:
0xC1900101 - 0x20004
The Installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during INSTALL_RECOVERY_ENVIRONMENT operation.
No idea what that means, and there isn't that much info online.
But I've been having other issues as well. Like I can't for the life of me install the newest graphic drivers for my Radeon HD 7800. Every time I try to install them, I get an error and then the system stalls. Even when I try to uninstall them, the system stalls.
I've tried to go into safe mode to deal with the graphic driver issue, but my keyboard doesn't seem to be working during bootup, cause I can't hit any key to get into my bios or any other command. I even made a bootable DVD for Win 10, but it says that I need to press any key to read the DVD, and it's not working!
I thought it might be a virus or something, but I checked with Avast, and it didn't seem to catch anything. I'm running a full scan right now just to be sure.
Even then, my system seems to want to freeze and hang even right after I reboot half the time. I can get to the screen where I input my password, and 1 out of every 3 times it will freeze, either once I'm typing my password, or after I hit enter and it's loading into my desktop or after the desktop is loaded and I try to move the mouse, only for it to never appear, nor does any keyboard strokes do anything. Not every time I reset the system, but enough to be extremely frustrating.
So basically, my computer is all types of messed up. I can't seem to restore any of my backups either. So I'm not sure what to do. I really don't want to format just yet, as trying to remember what programs I have installed would be a huge task. At least my personal files are on external harddrives.
