I guess another method is to install your previous OS first (Win 7 or 8, using its original key) then upgrade to Windows 10 again after.

Mine doesn't work and I have UAC on.
Doesn't the key get revoked after a month? Of is that just the internal rollback method?

Those are driver issues. Also when upgrading laptops, you should ALWAYS check with the manufacturer if the upgrade is supported.
I had but it was a mix of ISP and driver issue though. If you have an intel WiFi card I'd suggest installing the latest W8.1 drivers on their support page, as these are working far better for me than the ones that W10 installed.

FWIW, my Precision M6700 upgraded without much issue (save for the WiFi being spotty which was fixed with intel's latest driver)
For some reason, I went on a cleaning spree and uninstalled an old VPN software that I had due to a previous job *just* before upgrading to 10. Guess I dodged a bullet there
Windows 8 already did this, and I think sync is on by default, but you can turn it all off.
Settings -> Account -> Sync your settings let's you disable it or pick and choose what does sync.
Definitely not space, my laptop had 6GB left after the upgrade downloaded and the update went fine.

Most annoying thing ms ever added to windows. I haven't noticed it much unless I'm dragging a window. Will test when I get home. Sticky edges are the work of the devil.
Unfortunately Windows 10 is not what I have hoped for, yet.
Neat design but seems a little unstable, though. My real problem is, however, the search feature at the start menu and the very menu itself. I always launched my programs by just hitting the Windows key and typing right away. I could open the calculator in one second by just typing "calc" and hitting enter as soon as I finished with the last letter. Or "Vegas" for "Sony Vegas Pro" or "irf" for "IrfanView" or "Photo" for "Photoshop".
Now it's like the search takes ages. It's about 2 seconds before the search even shows up the program. So with typing and actually opening it's now 3 or 4 seconds. That's 3 to 4 times longer than I used to. Unacceptable for me and my workflow.
Problem 2: Not showing MOST the programs at all. Whether it's IrfanView, VLC, Sony Vegas or other programs. Just few are showing up like Steam but others won't show up at all and aren't even in the so called "app list" on the very left BESIDES being in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs".
Opening and even a fresh reinstall of given programs won't work. It's simply a pain in the ass to look up and start programs. What I have to do now in most cases is: windows key + e -> clicking c:\ -> clicking search bar at the top right -> typing "Vegas" -> clicking on program folder -> clicking executable/shortcut.
Problem 3: According to several websites there is an option to customize the Start Menu by right clicking the task bar, hitting properties and just right to the "navigation" tab is where it should be. Things like "number of recent items to display" should be there. But it isn't. Where do I actually find these options? The tab is simply not there.
If this isn't getting fixed I have to switch back to Windows 7 because those a very crucial features for me, not working anymore. Do you guys have any tipps or the same issue?
There are also 1.5 million files indexed so far so I think that's not the problem... programs should show up anyway, shouldn't they?

Well after clean installing my laptop is screwed. Can't use any of my hotkeys and whenever the laptop enters sleep mode my touchpan stops working forcing me to reboot.
What a bummer. If you don't need to reset pc, don't bother, unless you know for a fact all drivers are 100% compatible with Windows 10

According to the tested review video this can be tuned off but I don't remember how. When I do the upgrade myself I'm turning it off. I hate the feature an dont understand why it was ever added.

Let Windows Update first find whatever drivers it can, then check your manufacturer's support site for Windows 10 drivers. Check device manager to see what's missing too.

Problem 1: seems to be something on your end, since it's instant on my machine. Are you using an SSD, have indexed, etc?
Problem 2: I have it too, and it's annoying. It's a known issue though and are working on it.
Problem 3: That tab was on 8.1 and the early 10 previews, AFAIK it was removed on 10.

DO NOT go and wipe your download folder. While that may work for some people, it doesn't work for everyone, as the upgrade process is complex with a ton of different phases and multiple reasons why it may or may not work.
You'll likely end up causing more problems than you solve.

By doing this, not only are you avoiding re-downloading the entire thing with the Media Creation Tool, but you are also avoiding a lot of potential headaches.
The error code does not mean that there was a problem with the download. It simply means that you weren't eligible to install it yet.

My guess is you did this registry hack to permanently disable UAC: http://www.eightforums.com/system-security/2434-disable-uac-completely.html
Change it back to 1 and you're set.
If you can figure out how to turn corner stickiness off in Windows 10 then you let me know. It doesn't work the same as it did in Windows 8, so the same old registry fixes don't get rid of it.
It's not that easy. The internet at large has failed to solve it.

Pulled a surface I had in the filing cabinet and upgraded. Save yourself stress and roll back since it sounds like you're not pleased.
Not sure which OS I prefer for touch but I'll definitely have to reach for the pen or a mouse more often in W10 to get around quickly on a tablet based off early impressions.
My reaction when I tried to move tiles around with my finger:
It's amazing how terrible and clunky customization is without batch edits. The whole OS feels a bit off for touch but that's to be expected with another dramatic shift. Tablet users need some more freedom via virtual desktops. It's claustrophobic in that mode.

I just finished installing it and it went to a black screen with no mouse cursor or anything. I can't tell that it restarted. Any fixes?

Yeah, from what I've seen windows 10 is actually a downgrade for surface tablets if you just use the touch screen most of the time. Sticking with 8.1 for now.

I had the same issue, as well as not being able to disable the touch pad. The solution I found was to uninstall and re install either or both the ASUS ATK and smart gesture packages from ASUS's support portal.
I hate UAC with a passion.
On a windows 8.1 machine if you have UAC turned off you cannot load the On-screen keyboard if your a standard user (not an admin) (c:\windows\system32\osk.exe)
You don't get a pretty message, it just errors.

Windows Update is a great concept that really doesn't work as well as you'd want it to.
Did you allow Windows 10 to check for updates prior to installing it? Because it shipped with a bunch of day one patches to be installed.
Yea I was planning on using the tiles more but the stock icon on a grey square for non-official apps is pretty lame.

I did. I think I know what is going on and I don't believe Windows Update had this same behavior in Windows 8.1. It's basically running several threads concurrently via svchost.exe for each download. The reason I had so many downloads was because I just reinstalled Office 2013 from a clean install which has a gazillion updates. My wife was watching Netflix downstairs and it basically killed her stream. This is stupid.
Edit: It's downloading 12 updates at once at the moment
Edit 2: It doesn't seem like each svchost.exe process is related to windows update. But the Windows Update UI does show 12 updates listed as "downloading"
I have a task manager bug where it's always showing my CPU is at 100% (in the overall status), but it isn't when you sort by most used and add them up manually. I have an i7 2600k and the mobo is an ASrock p67 extreme4. I didn't install any motherboard drivers myself because ASrock only has windows 7 ones.
Also, I can't figure out how to get sync working. I have all the options turned on. But if I make a change on my desktop (like change the lockscreen picture), it doesn't happen on my surface pro 3. Nothing in Microsoft Edge (black theme, bookmarks) seem to be syncing either.

Alright, finally upgraded on main laptop(secondary went poorly, haven't done a fresh yet) and it's running fantastic here, and I doubt I'll even bother with a fresh install.
