Thanks. I was hoping that I would be able to pin the shortcut to the start menu but it won't let me. Oh well. No big deal. :/
Is there a way to create a shortcut to the "Network Connections" folder within Control Panel? It's the folder you get when you select to change adapter settings. Shows your ethernet, wifi, etc adapters.
Does anyone have any experience (or friends) with Android Development on Windows 10 - particularly drivers, Android SDK & ADB etc command line all working when upgrading from 8?
Preferably Android Studio but Eclipse is good enough (most of the tools being the same behind the scenes)
I use Windows 8.1 64 Bit with i7 4790K and drivers for Galaxy S6, Moto 360 (Wear/watch) etc and I am concerned that there are issues if I upgrade. (Getting Moto 360 wear/watch debug drivers working was a SOAB and I dont want to go through that again if W10 upgrade breaks everything)
I didn't check to see if anyone had already posted the solution to this, but if you're having insane memory usage by "system", the culprit is the network drivers. Download these drivers, uninstall your existing network drivers, and install the new drivers. It fixed the problem for me
is there a way to pin the Control Panel to the taskbar? because going windows+x every time is a pain in the ass
my friend upgraded from windows 7 on his laptop to 10. i then reformatted it for him since he was having some issues, and now it is no longer activated. is there an easy fix?
Can I use an ISO of Win10 from another computer to install it on another PC so I don't have to redownload on the other PC? The other PC has a genuine copy of Win7 installed.
Doesn't that tool make you download the ISO or USB file? I already have the ISO burned to a DVD.

Cool, cheers.Than yea you should be able to use it. I used the USB on three machines.
Just go Start -> All Apps -> Windows System -> Right click on Control Panel -> Pin to Taskbar.

This leads me to a question.
I did the free upgrade from a Windows 8.1 key.
If I ever need a new install say a year from now, will my original Win 8.1 key remain valid for a new 10 install? In other words does microsoft keep a record their side of a key and the upgrade (the free upgrade is time limited right? eg you cant wait until say 2019 right even with a valid 8.1 key?)
Can anyone recommend the best antivirus/malware/EVERYTHING for windows 10 whether commercial or free/open source? I want something simple and automatic that I dont have to mess with to protect against all internet attacks - virus, phishing, hacks etc
I dont mind paying a reasonable fee if its the better option.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong but this isn't needed for future as in they know your system unless you change your motherboard/cpu.
I upgraded than I did a USB boot of W10 and deleted everything via the format option. Than installed windows and skip CD key input. Once I got into the actual OS it was already activated.
For malware, I recommend malwarebytes.
Ah cool thanks I remember that malwarebytes recommendation from years back, nice to hear its still the recommendation.
Since I am a freelance software developer and this is a dev machine, is it worth paying for the premium version? (Ie since I use the computer for a living I can easily justify the cost if its recommended)
I just upgraded my Windows 8 to 10 and now all of a sudden I cannot connect to my PC with my Raspberry Pi (XMBC) anymore. Anyone recognize this problem?
Or even better...know a solution?
I'm not sure if you're having the same issue I did, but I had to do this http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=173386710&postcount=4389
I finally fixed my graphics card issues by reverting to AMD 14.2 omega drivers.
I want to prevent W10 auto updates, it currently downloads and installs a newer version on Intel drivers which I don't want (they're part of the reason my card has been running into errors and underperforming)
I searched and applied this stop auto update fix
http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com...e-automatic-updates-enable-updates-on-demand/
It's for W10 HOME USERS, which we all know can't prevent auto updates. \
But does it work?
How did you reformat it? Did you reset or did you boot from DVD/USB?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Or use that.
This leads me to a question.

I know it worked for Win 8 Home, so worth a shot.
The thing is, this still won't give you much control over what's updated. It'll download and notify you of the updates, then when you go to install updates, it will install everything including that driver.
If I use the Windows RESET option, will it actually format my drive (like desired)?
Will it delete my user data that is stored on a DIFFERENT drive? (like download, documents etc)?
is there a way to cut in line to speed up getting the actual install? I signed up for the notification on day 1 and i'm still waiting.
So, Windows Updade has been pushing a update for a printer that fails to install every time. Is there a way to cancel, or remove, or whatever this (single) update? (I'm on 10 pro, btw.)
