[Windows Central/Jez Corden] Xbox has turned a corner — the future for Microsoft's gaming platform once again looks incredibly bright

Are there examples like these from Nintendo or PlayStation focused podcasts? Feels to me that mostly Xbox fans behave this way, but that might be my bias speaking.

Trying to be the "killer" of something else generally doesn't work. The only exception i know was Marvel Rivals killing Overwatch. But that is because Overwatch already committed suicide.

They can talk all they like, but I think they are barking up the wrong tree.

Microsoft has put on consistent success for Xbox and they're just perfecting the original Xbox, RROD they had to deal with and have been flushing that down for years, series x is accomplishing things and it's critical to gaming

yeah you right, without the colossal failure of series x, I might not been able to look forward to one day playing gears of war on ps5

The classic retard Xbox fan mantra of "next year will be the big year", and "this next game is the big game."

It's been dead since 360 wrapped up. It's only because of Microsoft money this shit is still around. Microsoft probably uses Xbox on their P&L as a write off for all the money they burn.

When you drop the console warring there's great games to play. Finally. Sad times through Xbox One TV shite and 343 fucking Halo but the last 1-2 years with Xbox post acquisitions and GP has been brilliant on and off their hardware. Nothing but bright times ahead IMO.

I don't give a shit if the games sell elsewhere, as long as quality hardware powers solid games in one platform across my family, friends, devices and games I'm all for it.

See, that's the thing, they won't ever shut up, they're that toxic due to getting e-beaten for 2 generations straight.

Again, just look at what's happened (and keeps going) this gen :

- Series S supposedly more.powerful than the PS5
- Series X eats monsters for breakfast
- Years and years of broken promises..."don't fret, the games are coming"

- The games came (mediocre Halo, Redfall, mediocre Starfield etc etc), they didn't move the needle whatsoever , "you all just Xbox haters !"

- Rumours of them going 3rd party, "it's just 3 games "

- After everyone learnt that they'd actually release more than 3 games it went "Well, at least X game isn't going to other consoles"

- Now, after they've gone full 3rd party the narrative changed to "lol, keep buying our games Ponies, we'll be playing them for free on Gamepass"

Finally, watch the narrative changing again in a couple of years to "LOL, we're playing your exclusives through Steam on our Xbox PCs !"

It's a constant circle of extreme bitterness, denial, persecution complexes and literally e-inferiority®.

Literally the most toxic fanbase in the history of gaming.
Many of the most hardcore Green Rats are bitter former Sega fans. They will never forgive Sony for supposedly pushing Sega out of the console business, never mind that Sega basically had a continuous series of fuckups after the Mega Drive/Genesis and in reality they were the ones who killed themselves

But some of these really bitter Sega fans, like Richard Leadbetter of DF, will hate Sony until the day they die and they also don't like Nintendo so they have latched onto Microsoft/Xbox as their instruments of vengeance

I don't understand the majority of Sega fans at all. There hasn't been a good Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 1 on DC and yet they still worship Sonic like it's the greatest franchise on Earth

If we're discussing Xbix having a bright future as the largest third party publisher, sure their future is bright. If we are talking about Xbox as a viable first party platform holder? Ha ha ha ha no. Just no. It's been on life support for years and doctors are beginning tondiscuss when to pull the plug.

Xbox can do just fine as a massive third party force that will deliver major titles across the gaming spectrum and will be far better for it than continuinv to flounder as an alsi ran in a race they can't win

Do you think MS is taking on steam with the Xbox branded PC hardware? I have a big steam library and I'm loyal to both... I guess I'm buying a PC for steam and an Xbox pc

As one of the preeminent philosophers of our day, James Hetfield, once stated:

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel
Was just a freight train coming your way

You forgot to include the rest of his quote.

"And by bright I mean a blazing ball of fire like the surface of the Sun".

Oh, look.. another turning the corner moment for Xbox

They had many things going for them this generation.

1. Acquired Zenimax
2. Acquired Activision Blizzard
3. Games launching Day One on Game Pass
4. The "Most Powerful Console" on the market.
5. The "Most Affordable console" on the market

We know how this console generation ended.

The next generation console becomes less attractive now that they're releasing their games on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
Cool story bro.
