I can't wait for next gen. Hopes that they will turn it all around with the next Xbox are false hopes. It's not gonna take long after that.

I think the brand has been damaged. I don't think Xbox is culturally relevant anymore.

Yeah I feel like I'm playing Myst to solve a puzzle if I try understanding what she's actually saying. Everything feels fake and like she's pulling strings to get some good PR line in, but she's complicating things to the max for no reason, Probably the least interesting gaming person to listen to.
I'm sure she's a lovely person though. But she should let somebody else speak.

Are they really? Indiana Jones, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Doom: The Dark Ages, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 are not Xbox games, but Bethesda and Activision titles, respectively.

In fact, the last five proper Xbox Game Studios releases -- South of Midnight, Avowed, Flight Simulator 2024, Ara: History Untold and Senua's Saga: Hellblade II -- have all ranged from being disappointing relative to the expectations around them to straight up being poorly received.

Don't get me wrong. I like XBOX, but how is the future bright when your hardware sales are basically nonexistent now, you shamelessly increased the hardware price significantly even though sales are terrible, have a portable coming out that seemingly does nothing new at a rumored exorbitant price and then have your first party games on PC and on competing platforms?

Ya know Xbox as a platform is going into the toilet when they have to bring other storefronts to their system to interest people. If they do release a PC like Xbox with other stores that's a lot of revenue they would be losing. Also how they still gonna charge for online play. They would lose a lot of gamepass revenue if they had to adjust pricing for that.
 
The way MS managed to flop like Sega as a console manufacturer and comeback as a 3rd party publisher like that was always their plan and have all north american media at their side like this needs to be studied.

Similarities here are wildly close. GAF in general, shat on the Switch when announced, missing the allure of the hybrid draw. Now XBOX aiming something similar in a disruptive sense, a set top console like experience that plays other store pc games. If XBOX team can deliver on the OS side, attitudes will shift quickly.
 
The first page has two posts that are positive towards Xbox, and the other 48 post are something along the lines of "Xbox fans are so gullible", "I can't believe Xbox fans eat this up". I think many are giving these "journalists" too much credit as their messaging doesn't seem to really move the needle.

The only thing I can fathom is they think Xbox diehards will just use the Xbox Store and keep paying for GPU mostly and that they can convert some PC gamers / Steam folks over to buying stuff from Xbox store.

I mean I KNOW the latter is what the Zbox Rog Ally X is about. It's a ploy to get people buying from Windows Store over Steam.

They'll make these things support other stores but the integration with Window/Xbox store is going to be better and the dashboard will probably advertise products from MS's stores.
