Phoenix said:It will. There is still a VAST demographic out there that is not interested in gaming at this point. Microsoft is targeting consumers who believe, for some bizarre reason, that it takes too long to do stuff on other phones. While there is some truth to that, I don't personally see it as a selling point. However, you can go with a stripped down "smart feature phone" and get a lot of people to buy it.

It's always been touted as one of the best examples of the WP7 interface. It is pretty damn amazing looking.

You should probably just try both and get what you like better. I have the HD7 and think it's a great device. Especially the kick stand (which I never use) is great.AnkitT said:So guys, venue pro or the hd7? Wanted to get the focus, but its gonna be a while before it launches over here.
Thanks for sharing. Tried it for a couple of minutes and can definitely see why people think it's one of the best Apps out there (performance, interface, etc.)PG2G said:Cocktail Flow is free for the week: http://cocktailflow.com/mix11/

The keynote will start at 9 AM PST, that's in 35 minutes.
snap, who was the girl in your old avatar?
They'll probably show IE9 on WP7, including Silverlight 4 (if the rumor is true).maeh2k said:isn't today just IE9?
I thought WP7 is in tomorrow's keynote. But I could be wrong. (I intend to watch both anyway, even though I have no idea what they would even show in the IE one)
IE keynote, not IE9 keynote. They're going to show the IE10 platform preview.jagowar said:We might still get some interesting bits from the ie9 keynote... but I would expect the cool stuff to be talked about tomorrow.

I don't think that MIX is really that newsworthy, except for the keynotes. It's really more interesting if you're actually there and get to see the sessions.Earl Cazone said:brotkasten could you make a new thread for MIX?
You are the most informed and i am sure MIX deserves its own thread

Windows Phone Mix Sessions Reveal AR, Local Data and Changes To Live TilesMix is going on now but the Windows Phone sessions had been labeled TBD. Theyve now been propagated and it gives a hint as to what to expect from tomorrows Keynote speech (that should discuss Windows Phones). Of note, here are some sessions and youll see the sensor access is likely a reference to the compass and camera (thus enabling augmented reality), new data is either local databases and/or more folder access (like the ability to use \videos and other drives), plenty of fast switching/multitasking and theyre fixing live tiles:
Whats Coming Next to the Windows Phone Application Platform:
- Going Mobile with Your Site on Internet Explorer 9 and Windows Phone 7
- Mini-Session: Get Ready for Fast Application Switching in Windows Phone
- Whats New in the Windows Phone Developer Tools?
- Multitasking in the Next Version of Windows Phone, Part II: Using Background Agents
- Sensor Access in the Next Version of Windows Phone
- Whats New for Windows Phone Development with Silverlight?
- New Data Access Features Coming to Windows Phone
- Enhanced Push Notifications & Live Tiles for Windows Phone

Her name is Béatrice Martin (Cur de pirate). I think I'll change it back soon, but I couldn't find my source pic in high res and posting without an avatar felt weird. :/brotkasten said:snap, who was the girl in your old avatar?
What makes you say that? And its wp7 not wm7.Tomcat said:wait for nokias models
i dont think samsung and the others are going to bother with wm7 in the future
It's quite the opposite. Everyone is waiting for the Mango update to jump on WP7. HTC and Samsung already confirmed that they're going to ship new phones and Acer and ZTE confirmed that they're working on handsets for this or next year.Tomcat said:wait for nokias models

JaggedSac said:I don't think we can make assumptions on how long development of LTE stuff has gone on based the job posting. Looks like it is just for a regular position on the team and since they are working on LTE stuff, the new guy should know how to do it too.
When is the WP7 MIX session going to occur?
Thank you, the music is pretty cool.snap0212 said:Her name is Béatrice Martin (Cur de pirate). I think I'll change it back soon, but I couldn't find my source pic in high res and posting without an avatar felt weird. :/

I wonder if they're going to bother with a real Bing app for WP7. They updated the mobile website to HTML5 few weeks ago and WP7 will be able to access it after the Mango update.thirty said:Mango 3rd party multitasking and ie9 is great but how about updating Bing and Bing maps? The newer hspa+ android phones run circles around my WP7 phone in speed and features.
http://www.bing.com/community/site_...obile-browse-experience-gets-even-better.aspxToday, we launched updates to the Bing for Mobile browse (m.bing.com) making it easier for you to get and view information while on the go. New features in this update include better and faster image search, real-time transit and directions, app search for the iPhone, and more. Utilizing HTML5, the new features are offered on Smartphone browsers for the iPhone and Android. If you have a Windows Phone 7 device, dont worry, Windows Phone 7 just announced that it will support HTML5 later this year so these updates will work great at that time.
Now lets take a closer look at the new features:
- Transit Directions and Real-Time Transit
- Image Search
- Shopping
- Weather Update
- App Search
- Movies
These are the latest updates. We hope you enjoy and find these features helpful while using Bing on the go. We value your feedback, so let us know what you think.
