I awoke to find my phone plugged in and unresponsive, as if it were off. Pulling out the cord and replugging it in did nothing. The power button wouldn't turn on or wake the device no matter how much I pressed it. Finally, I had to pluck the battery out and put it back in and then the phone powered on as normal with a fully charged battery.
Alarms were set, is there a new alarm bug? I also sync wirelessly, that might be the culprit as well. Any thought? Similar experiences?
If you want to go cheap just get a little boombox that has an aux in. I got an RCA one for like $40-50 iirc from wallmart. Has radio, CD, and AUXMr. Snrub said:Need a recommendation for a portable speaker set! Much better i assure you.VanMardigan said:Check your eyes, they either suck or are much better than anyone else's.

Can anyone explain what is so wonderful about the screen other than that it looks "vibrant.?"
VanMardigan said:Besides the eye popping colors, it has the best black levels of any phone. I put my HD home movies on it and they look incredible. You can always raise the brightness if you think it isn't as bright as the lame old LCD on the Surround, but I've never had a problem with that.
Make sure to set the background to black to conserve battery and show off dat black level.
shantyman said:I am going to go out on a limb here and say the Focus' screen is terrible. It looks dim compared to the Surround and the dithered look just destroys it for me.
Otherwise the phone is on balance better than the Surround. It's not as cheap feeling as expected I'll admit.
Maybe you have the wrong brightness settings?shantyman said:I am going to go out on a limb here and say the Focus' screen is terrible. It looks dim compared to the Surround and the dithered look just destroys it for me.

I don't think it looks vibrant. That is what everyone else says.Brettison said:You just said it looks dim? Do you think it looks dim or vibrant?

I think it looks dithered. Not even close to an iPhone 4 display. I know this is the not cool opinion but I just don't care for it.
Compared to standard OLED. See the chart on this page, the Surround is definitely brighter.

I agree the blacks are great but it does not overcome my other issues with it.
VanMardigan said:I, and the others, were mostly just ribbing you. Nobody called you stupid.
That said, the Focus display is fantastic and you are blind and crazy.
Just kidding again. Mostly.

That pic reminds me, I really wish we could turn off the backgrounds that appear on various artists (and then by extension the zune app if they were the last artist played even though the straight up black like in the pic looks far better). They almost always look shitty and blurry cause of the low resolution. I've tried turning off Connect to Zune in the settings, but then it turns off my cover art but still leaves the artist showing in the main app area. Dont know what the fuck thats actually supposed to do.
Copying that shit to my Focus as we speak, love you bro.MasterLeePhD said:Get Potion - WP7 Wallpaper Bundle Four. http://bit.ly/hDDvSU

Friend is looking at getting one as Orange uk are doing it for £100 and £10 p/m with unlimited texts.
Feedback would be good, I own an Omnia 7 myself (T-mobile uk so still no pre nodo or nodo).

What 3G frequencies does it use? AT&T or T-Mobile are your national options. Each use different 3G frequencies but talk/edge data are compatible for both. There will be some local carriers that use GSM but they will ultimately be using either of those two network's towers most likely.MagniHarvald said:Hey US GAF, quick question for you guys: I have an unlocked Omnia 7 from Orange (France), I'll be in the US all summer and would like to use it, what carriers will it work with, and what would be the best option? Thanks guys =)
I've had no problem with it in Norway, but the US is different, right?

T-Mobile will be the cheapest option and is recommend it if you are going to be in a good coverage area. They do have the worst national coverage however.
