Utmost important.Complex Shadow said:maybe more like "as important"
I'm pretty sure everyone will get at least the image search. :lolsnap0212 said:brotkasten, isn't it pretty much a given that all Bing improvements that come with Mango will be US only as well? Since you added (US Only) to 'Podcast in the marketplace' I think you should add it to these things as well.
Can't wait for the update and a Zune Software update. Too bad they don't talk about that at all.
They basically didn't update the Zune software for 2 years. 4.7 just added WP sync support and ... wait for it ... Windows Live Gallery support.snap0212 said:No talk hopefully doesn't mean they're not working on it. I think Microsoft knows how much better the Zune software can and should be. It's a great piece of software and I prefer it to iTunes, but there are many things it currently doesn't do at all and these things need to be implemented as soon as possible (Audio books, App Management, cell phone management, etc.).
This Fall.Complex Shadow said:aw. when can i expect phones with second gen snapdragons?
Again, they're more efficient, not less. edit: Or are you talking about the 3rd gen dual-cores?claviertekky said:More importantly, do the newer processors decrease battery life even faster?
That's just the minimum spec. We will probably see a dual core wp7 device by this time next year.Complex Shadow said:aw. when can i expect phones with second gen snapdragons?
Complex Shadow said:does this mean, phones with dual cores?
We may get there some day but look at the displays the once a week phones had. Though phones that don't last a day are cutting it a little short for me.claviertekky said:Utmost important.
That's what I can't stand about smartphones these days. My WM 6.5 phone lasts 2 days without charge, and I consider that weak.
Whatever happened to the days of charging your phone once a week?
I doubt it. But I would love to see an atrix like window phone where it can turn into a laptopDarth Tigris said:Quick question for you: how do you think WP's OS would benefit from being run on a dual core device?

It's nice to see that they're working on it.brotkasten said:For that you'll have to wait for Windows (Phone) 8 or 9.

It is. I'm surprised. The iOS App Store and Android Market have only the CE, not CE DX.thirty said:is DX pacman exclusive? please gimme some bragging rights.

There is a Verizon HTC Trophy theme for the Xbox 360.
Also the phone is at bestbuy.com

CE and CE DX are different games.Complex Shadow said:how much does it cost on ios and android?
Probably the best 7 dollars I'll ever spend for a mobile game.Zerokku said:http://www.wpcentral.com/pac-man-championship-edition-dx-next-week-s-xbox-live-game-yes
Hell yes. Next weeks Live game is Pacman Championship Edition DX. On one hand, its $7, on the other hand, its probably one of the best downloadable games I've ever played. I'll probably drop the cash on it.

Dunno what's going on at MS these days.
VanMardigan said:The second gen phones won't be around in two months, though, thats my problem. And yeah, I have a few backup phone options, but I want to use a windows phone.
On another note, its interesting that the Venue Pro is also out on att, so there are a few options for me if I can't wait. Which would you guys prefer, the DVP or the HD7S? Did DELL work out all the kinks on their phone?

It would be the first Windows Phone for Verizon.trinest said:Why do people care so much about the Trophy? It's just a poor mans Mozart.

http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2011/05/12/shazam-encore-for-windows-phone-7-released/Shazam has just released the paid version of their music tagging application for Windows Phone 7 today. The good news is that WP7 users now have access to most of the services features which were only available on other platforms before. But but the bad news is that the free version will no longer offer unlimited tagging unless the app was installed before May 2011:
UPDATE: It looks like Shazam really wants you to pay for their stuff. After updating the free Shazam version I was no longer able to pin the application to the home screen. Strange right? So the solution would probably to uninstall it, loose the unlimited tagging feature and re-install it right? Well, I decided to just reboot the phone just in-case it fixes the the tile issue the app has now vanished from my phone! According to the Marketplace its still installed on my phone..but It no longer shows up in the installed applications list!
Heres the list of features available in Shazam Encore (for $5.99)
Upgrade your music journey with Encore:
- Unlimited tagging, so dont miss a music moment tag as often as you like
- Identify what song is playing and buy the track direct on Zune Marketplace
- Get Music Recommendations to discover similar music
- View lyrics and sing along to tagged tracks
- Read album reviews, artist biographies and discographies
- Watch YouTube videos for tagged artists from within the App

Maybe. I think it was a promotional agreement, just like the one between Microsoft and last.fm. Shazam was never free on other platforms.PG2G said:Maybe they are upset that the functionality is coming in Mango, lol

Never!Complex Shadow said:anyone have an idea of when/if an equalizer function will come to zune player on PC.
:lolbrotkasten said:Never!
Okay, I don't know, but I can tell ya, the folks at Zune don't like the idea of EQs. Something about listening to the music as it was intended by the artist or something like that. They completely removed the EQ function with the Zune 2.0 update. Maybe they changed their minds or the other/new folks there like EQs now, but you'll have to wait for the 5.0 update.
AT&T planning a big Windows Phone 7 push?

WinExtra reports that there is some evidence that AT&T is planning a big Windows Phone 7 push.
They have been told by a trusted source that AT&T are sending reps to Best Buy locations to check how well salespeople there know about Windows Phone 7 and that the best performers in the verbal quiz stand to win free Windows Phone 7 handsets.
The aim is apparently to get Best Buy reps better informed and to make them more likely to push Windows Phone 7 over Android, a laudable goal from our point of view.
AT&T are Microsofts Premier Windows Phone 7 Partner, and its about time that we see some evidence of this in action.
It is good to have informed salespeople, but having them push WP7 over alternatives? Sounds biased and perhaps not best for the consumer.Klocker said:k. I already had Shazam free installed (and it remains free and unlimited to anyone who had it prior to this new release.
BUT..the update installed into the Games hub. lol .. woops

Oh and this....

about time. MOST people buy what the salesperson sterrs them toward and I have seen PLENTY of sp misinform or fanboy people right off of a WP7 due to ignorance or MS hate or whatever...good for AT&T.

this is different from "make them more likely to push Windows Phone 7 over Android". This demonstrates bias.Klocker said:well informed sales people = well informed customers who hopefully can weight the facts and make up theri own mind.
