The problem isn't that the storage is too low - if it's cheaper, that's fine, whatever - but instead that the manufacturers aren't providing higher capacity options like Apple does, and apparently Microsoft can't be bothered to do anything about it.

There is no 32GB Windows phone in the western market, much less one with 64GB, and in 2011 that's really just inexcusable when almost every single Android device out there is capable of having a storage capacity of 32GB and Apple is providing a 64GB device.

I don't disagree, though there is a 16gb version of Samsung, it's the Focus S. However will people paid $299 or 399 for Samsung S with 32gb and 64gb?

Also wasn't there a rumor of 32gb version of Focus S?

That said, as much as I like my storage space, I find that I rarely watch video on my phone at least not the one that I already have seen and are on my zune. I tend to stream netflix (and when are we getting HULU app???) Same with music, I tend to stream Last FM or TuneIn radio instead but I do want to have all my stuff with me.

FINALLY been able to update my Omnia7 to Mango.
Post update this thing doesn´t hold a charge worth shit. And charging itself takes aeons. What gives?

I'm pretty sure they edited that. I read the article earlier, but I didn't bother to complain about that, because, y'know, it's Engadget.

Yeah, same here. Gonna remove Engadget from my RSS feeds actually, no point in reading them anymore.

That Guardian review is pathetic.

blrg, double post

Well, it's number one from one web site in France.

Can anybody give an indication on how big phonehouse.fr is?

ThePhoneHouse is the fourth biggest phone seller in France (after the operators themselves) IIRC. No data on hand though, maybe some of the supermarkets are bigger.

I'm sorry, but I'd rather trust the multitude of users who have had no issues at all.

Besiktas just have bad luck when it comes to update and unlocking phone. He meant no harm. I am sure it's buggy considered they pull it right after it went up.

Is the giant Windows phone supposed to herald something cool? New phone? New Info? Titan release? Should I not buy the Focus S tomorrow?

Anyone pick up a Focus S today? God i need more hands on impressions.

I went into the store to buy one and played with their display model for a good 20-30 minutes. The phone wasn't as cheap feeling as I thought it'd be. The screen was amazing (especially at the main page where you pin the apps. The colors exploded off the screen). The camera button was really handy though it didn't load as fast as I thought it would. I compared it to the HTC Atrix (I believe) and though you had to unlock the phone, then hit the camera button on screen, it did load quite a bit faster. The camera on the samsung was very very crisp, but compared to the Atrix, it seemed washed out in color. A good camera is very important to me with our first born on the way and I found myself a bit disappointed. It wasn't bad by any means but I think I prefered the more saturated look of the HTC phone. Dedicated button was definitely a HUGE plus.

I didn't buy the phone because I really want to see the Titan first but I have a feeling I'm going to go back today and get it anyways. The HTC phones felt really heavy compared to the Samsung. They were definitely built better but I saw it more as them being more brick like rather than better qualilty. You'd be surprised how much heftier even the lightest 4.3 HTC phones felt compared to the sammy.

Something else I just found out. There's no swype or any swype equivalent on Windows Phone. This was a deal breaker for my wife and almost one for me. She'll be getting the G2 instead. I guess there is an app which performs the same way, but its an app, not a replacement keyboard.

Well the Titan is lighter than the hd7 and the whole build feels a higher level, but I'd guess from having my hands on the GS2 the focus s will be lighter, but I feel the Titan is a better build quality, probably one of the best phones htc has produced IMO but size and weight might be an issue to you.

at the mall. gf is doing her shoe shopping thing, meanwhile I'm using an indoor map from the integrated Bing and it's gotten me to the gamestop, the Sony store, and Paul's tv.

I don't understand the hate for plastic. Plastic in my opinion is more durable and will wear better than metal. Not to mention if you drop the phone metal will dent, scratch etc. The high grade plastic on phones will likely not. The back of the GS2 is very thin also but you can almost bend it in half and it will not break. My 2 cents.

I picked up a Focus S this afternoon.. only some of our AT&T stores got them and the biggest one got about 5.. they are currently sold out (got the last one)..

It's pretty much exactly what I expected.. the text is sharper and doesn't have the kind of "Halo" effect that the pentile matrix in the original super amoled display in the focus has. The display doesn't appear to be as bright as the original focus display, but it is more than bright enough.

form factor wise, it feels exactly like the Galaxy S II android phone.. plastic, but not cheap.. and very, very light.

I've noticed that it can connect to 5Ghz 802.11n networks, which is something the original focus could not do.

It doesn't really feel faster than a focus running mango in normal operation.. which I think is a testament to how well optimized microsoft's platform is.

Whether or not it would be worth buying to someone who already has a focus is really a toss up.. I like the bigger non-pentile display, larger battery and lighter weight.. so it is a win for me so far.

The plastic back of my phone has chipped.

I didn't drop it. After 2-3 years, the phone decided to crack.

Any problems with the Venue Pro? I'm thinking on picking one up for around $170 and using it on T-Mobile for the same price I pay with Cricket. Really like it compared to the HD7.

Late updates are the biggest issue with the pro now I think.

I saw the HTC commercial for the Radar during my NFL watching today. Much prefer it to any other WP7 commercial I've seen in the US so far.

The unit you buy might have some bugs, you can't know until you get it, but Dell is still honoring the warranty on the devices so that shouldn't be a problem.

The keyboard is nice but it's not really integrated into the OS, like what I'm used to (webOS phones). It'd be perfect for someone who previously owned a BlackBerry. I'd trade the keyboard and 'premium' construction for a thinner and lighter phone though. I'm already pining for the Samsung Focus S.

He seems to like the HTC Titan better. Also the SuperAMOLED doesn't seem to be big advantage over SuperLCD, actually in that video I also found HTC screen color to be more pleasing .. hmm...I can even used white background and now worry about my battery drain to zero.

I hope they get Titan in soon so I can go play with both of them.
I think based on Robobandit's Focus S review, I have decided to go Titan. I already have a Focus so If Im going to upgrade may as well go all the way up to 4.7" :D
