Yeah, I used my friends phone to try to find it while I was still there, no luck. I then activated the erase feature, also no luck. Its probably powered off. Apparently it'll keep trying and email me if successful.

This sucks ass, its just money... but damn -_- It'd be fine if it was far enough into it that second gen phones were out. Its hard to justify buying the same phone full price

I was going to order a samsung focus from amazon but now its backordered. If I did order through amazon my plan wouldnt actually start until I received the phone right? Also is there anyone else selling the samsung focus that cheap?

The Focus I ordered from Amazon just shipped. It should be here the 22nd. That's a pleasant surprise since it was scheduled to arrive around the first of December when I ordered.

Anyone want some real basic stats? The site I work on [~million visitors a month] saw WP7 usage at:

1st to 7th: 0.06% of iPhone
8th to 14th: 0.37% of iPhone

It's looking like this week will have a similar increase. Small fry still - and to be fair our demographic doesn't include many early adopters - but just curious whether other webmasters out there have any similar stats they'd like to share.

But you work on iheartiphones.com!

In real news, my focus is waiting at home for me to set up. Can't wait. Interested to try Zune Pass for the first time.

Remember you can download the albums straight to the phone when on wifi so it saves on data usage.

Just hold down the album/song you want and press download. It awesome. 14 days of it for free.:D

The Reviews have arrived!

Readers you may be wondering where are all the reviews? The truth is I've been hard at work trying to find a way to record the games on video as I play. Unfortunately I have yet to find a camera that can properly capture the screen. So plan B. Here are 5 reviews of Windows Phone 7 games to get us started. I hope this begins to help weed out some of the crap :)

Expect more and more every day!

At the end of every month I'll collate the best games and post pictures and hopefully by then videos.

Jump for the rest.

In all seriousness, this was probably one of the best purchases I've ever made in terms of costumer service. I don't know if it was just her, the store, or AT&T has some new push ... but they bent over backwards to give me epic service. She stated all her and the manager care about is making me happy :o

Don't know what to say. Haven't had a purchase like that in ... I honestly can't recall when.

Dunno. They might be concerned if iPhone is going to Verizon. I have friends on Facebook who keep posting that AT&T customer service has been amazing lately.

When I went in to get my Focus with my Mom it was easy. I asked if they had any in and she said yes, and showed me the phone. I told her I had already looked at it and just wanted to play with it for a bit. She didn't even sales pitch me, and left me be. Played with the phone, told my mom I wanted one (she's the contract holder of our family plan), and went to the counter to say I want one.

Chick was totally cool. She was like you deserve a t-shirt or something cause your the 1st person to buy this phone in our store! :lol

IDK she switched my contract stuff over, got my new sim card in cause I didn't want to transfer, and had me rocking asap. She was like now how'd the experience go cause they were talking about a customer survey that would come in the e-mail on the account. I was like this was honestly great. It was crazy fast, and everyone was totally cool in there.

I think we were in and out in 10 mins and that was with me playing with the phone 1st. Shit ton better than the last time I went into the same AT&T store last July.

I'm a current iPhone 4 customer but I signed up through Apple store, but I had to go into the AT&T store to apply a corporate discount (for a company I don't even work for anymore :lol )and they were super accommodating. To be honest, it was a better experience than Verizon (been a customer there for 10 years). Verizon acts like they don't even need your business. Anyway...I'm jealous of you WP7 people. =) Can't wait to try one out. Still like my iPhone though.

So my bro and sis in law came in town for the night last night with my nephews. He was like holy shit you got a phone. We all have gotten phones recently. To set the stage before this my bro had an olderish crackberry for work and a Moto razr for home and my sis in law and I both had razrs. We we're all bitch'n about our phones this time last year.

My sis in law got an iphone 4 over the summer, and then my mom got one too. My bro dropped his home deal and just got a new crackberry that his company would just totally pay for that was just his cell in general. I was still holding out though. They were like WTF that razr sucks we know we had one remember? :lol So they were like welcome to 2010 last night! :D

I took some pics with it this morning too as I need a pic for my hub of my bro since only my sis in law has a FB page (which he mooches off of despite what he'd tell you!). Took a good pic of him with my nephews. This was outside though in good light. I still think their iphone camera is better than mine when it comes to low light situations. I'd say it's similar quality during the day time though. Took the pic added it to the hub for my bro, and even shared it on fb. Nice that I can actually do this shit now! :lol :lol

I already asked here if it was ok :( Not really pimping the site, just thought it'd interest some of you. Shall I remove?

It's cool, but I'd suggest a disclaimer that it's your site.

PS: Ads must be working cause my sis in law mentioned she saw my phone on TV during the big ad push!

Will do :) I was just trying my best to Write up about ALL games released on the markepplace, but the one man team/no funds is proving harder than expected :lol I'm still dedicated though.

Also I don't get why MS don't hand devs out codes for their games they released so they can spread them out to websites for review, thus getting more exposure. Kind of silly they don't because they do it for Indie games why not wp7???

So I finally decided to try the IE9 Beta... wow this shit blows IE8 which was at least a competent version of IE7.

We need this kind of thinking in the mobile browser. Get on that shit, and update me MS!

What happened?
He was drunk and left it at a bar. But thanks to the awesome MyPhone feature, he was able to lock the phone and display a message with his contact information. A hot girl picked it up and went by to give him the phone. Now they're dating.

I wish. Last week I was drunk and locked myself out the house in my boxers. This week I made a conscious effort not to be drunk :P

Insurance is replacing it with $50 deductible, pretty much no questions asked. Think I'll be getting insurance from now on, I thought it'd be a real hassle like normal extended warranties so I never bothered. Highly recommended :P

Anyone know if I need to do anything to disassociate the phone with my Live ID? I called AT&T to notify them. I just wonder if they were to somehow figure out the pin, if they could connect to wifi and buy a bunch of crap.

Done. No issues. Looks like I can't livestream in Zune app?

If you have a Zune Pass, just hit the little play icon on the item and it'll play. Hold down on the item to get the context sensitive menu to download.

WP7 has a helluva battle in Canada =/ Aside from the problem Android also faces with every carrier carrying the iPhone 4 and various BlackBerries, you still can't buy the phones in stores. The Focus can still only be found on Rogers' website -.-

Got lucky and was able to nab the HD7 on Craigslist and at a fairly good price.

I think this is the first time I've ever had serious phone envy since I became a born-again iPhone zealout. The Focus is a really beautiful phone, the UI is fantastic and I want a Zune pass so I can have all my stuff on my Xbox, computer and phone! But in order to do that I'd also have to be willing to switch back from Mac to a Windows PC. Why won't Microsoft make Zune Mac-compatible? They're leaving money on the table here.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Didn't they announce that they're going to have some Mac sync software available? I wonder if it's going to be Zune-based.

all they announced was a way to sync WP7 with the Mac. The link for the software is in the OP.

They have a Sync program so you can sync your music and stuff with the phone, but not the full Zune client.

They feel they can make MORE cash focusing on getting the platform up to par with the iphone and android verses working on a Mac client.

It makes sense to make a Mac client as they are leaving money on the table, but the question is are they leaving MORE money on the table verses getting it up to par for all the window's users right now? IMO that's and easy answer, and I feel MS thinks the same way.

That being said if a year from now when the platform us more mature and more feature complete this idea definitely should end up on the table.

PS: Never knew about the tested podcast and listened to the last two episodes. You were great. I'm so dumb though. 1st episode I realized who Norm was, and was like awesome I always liked him in Maximum PC. It wasn't till half way through the 2nd podcast that it dawned on me OOOOHHH that's Will aka former editor in chief of Maximum PC. :lol :lol

Oh hey OOV you were right about how awesome the performance of Zune video is on Xbox 360. I bought an episode of HOUSE that my DVR fucked up on this week, and it started streaming in HD IMMEDIATELY with no stuttering or buffering. And that was over wifi. Really impressive!

MS is a giant company, they certainly have the resources to create and support a Mac client, as well as a Windows one.

:/

It's also what is holding me back at the moment.

Yeah I sometimes get the first second or so pixellated but I only noticed because Always Sunny in Philadelphia starts with a title card. HOLY SHIT AT THE WAY TEXT AUTOCOMPLETE WORKS!!!! Win!

Yeah it's ridiculous, Microsoft certainly has the resources to do both. Plus making this available for Mac users allows them to target iPhone users and steal them away.

Exactly...I mean, I have no understanding of corporate business strategy, but trying to directly carve out a piece of your competitor's market has to have value, does it not?

Saying "They are a big company, they have enough people" is kind of a naive way to look at business.

Microsoft doesn't have a dugout. All of those people have things to do (important things to do that were thought over and approved and budgeted), because Microsoft isn't paying them to nap all day. Having them make a Mac client means they stop working on something else. So the real question is, "Should we drop some/all work on another project in this division to make a Mac client instead?".

Obviously. Those decisions are made all the time, and Microsoft has a history of making them poorly. Here's the latest example.
