$599.99 and supposedly it's the 8GB? Fuck Rogers. Dell.com sells the AWS version for $450 / $500.

Hope Dell.ca sells it cheaper =/

Of course they need to tell people what the hell is going on regardless..... this secrecy is hurting their public image badly. They were there on launch day saying updates would happen "soon", then we were supposed to get it in January. If it was never supposed to come out until march they should have said so from day 1 and not let people make up all kinds of rumors.
Nice!! Aside from im apps, the portfolio is filling up nicely.dallow_bg said:Amazon app finally out.

Do I really have to read Paul Thurrot's blog to get a change log for the latest Zune software client update?Update: Bill J. wrote Zune support about this update and was told it was unrelated to any pending Windows Phone update. In their words: Its a small bug that affects only certain customers very little was actually changed, and it has to do with Windows Phone device driver level stuff. Ah well.
brotkasten said:They never wanted to release the update in March. From what I've heart it was supposed to come out in (early) January (hence the 'very soon' from Belfiore in December). By the time CES started, the update was already delayed and internally stated for (early) February and they stopped mentioning any time frame since then (except for "Q1 2011" or "early 2011", but no 'soon'). Delays are normal and they happen. Especially at Microsoft. They know this very well and try not to promise anything. March 8 is the first concrete date we ever had for this update and even this won't be confirmed until next week (if Neowin is right on this ofc *cough*).
/full MS defense force mode
However, all this doesn't mean I'm happy with the situation. Just because I haven't encountered the marketplace bug in two weeks, it doesn't mean it works for others. Dell's latest fuck up with the Venue Pro doesn't help either (they shipped some phones with corrupted MicroSD cards). The whole situation is pretty annoying and while I'm still happy, it would be very nice if Microsoft would do something about the customers, that are rightfully bitching.
I mean, wtf is this shit?

I wish more blogs would bitch about this and force some statements.
Why is it not being found then?dallow_bg said:Amazon app finally out.

Raistlin said:Seriously, MS really drops the ball on this sort of shit
- No way to search the Marketplace on the phone
- Using search on AppAdvisor yields nothing - it probably isn't in the db yet
- Can't find a tag read link for it anywhere. Not at Amazon's page for it, not at MS.
- Isn't listed as a featured download. Really?
So let me get this straight. The only possible way to get it is via Zune? Yeah, good thinking MS. People have that installed on every computer ... particularly work computers.

THIS
SHIT
The Amazon Shopping Application for Windows Phone 7 allows you to quickly search, shop, compare prices, read reviews, and make purchases on Amazon.com using a simple, intuitive interface. Amazon customers have full access to their existing cart, wish lists, payment and shipping options, order history, 1-Click (R) settings, and Prime membership benefits. All purchases made on the Amazon App are routed through Amazons secure servers just as they are on the web. All prices are in US Dollars.
PG2G said:I found it on the phone by searching for Amazon.com, which is the app's actual name. Silly that it doesn't show up with Amazon though.
That said, Amazon does very nice WP7 apps. Both Amazon.com and Kindle are great.
Unfortunately, it looks like the Amazon app is only available for the US (or not for Canada at least). I can get to the app page but there is no option to install it yet. The Kindle app works fine in Canada, and many items can be ordered from Amazon.com with a Canadian address so I hope they enable it at some point.PG2G said:That said, Amazon does very nice WP7 apps. Searching with what? In the marketplace, Amazon brings up about a million songs.VanMardigan said:It DOES show up when you search for just Amazon, that's how I found it. You just have to give it time to populate properly. Raistlin just got a little impatient there.
Except the Kindle doesn't have orientation lock. Makes it useless for me!PG2G said:...Both Amazon.com and Kindle are great.
It shows up on the phone using the default marketplace app. You missed it, plain and simple. I'm not defending the dumb ass mixed search, but the app show up by just typing Amazon on the default market app search box and waiting for all the results to load. That's where the impatient comment came from.Raistlin said:Searching with what? In the marketplace, Amazon brings up about a million songs.
I did find it via PG2G's advice (amazon.com). Thanks PG2G!

Right, so you confirmed that what I said was true. There were two factually incorrect statements made in his rant: that it did not show up in the default search when he typed Amazon, and that it was only accessible via Zune software.PG2G said:I just tried this, I had to scroll down forever. It might as well not be there. You expect the most relevant search results near the top,

Might end up just using your app updates in the App OP thread, since they're so well done. Do you mind?
The Microsoft Tag mobile tagging system instantly connects you to more information and entertainment without typing long URLs or texting shortcodes. Simply scan the Tag with your mobile phone, and Microsoft Tag takes you there.
Sorry, but I'm not familiar with TuneInRadio. Can you explain it a bit?thirty said:I emailed the developers behind TuneInRadio app and they confirmed a WP7 app is on its way "soon" Woohoo!
Microsoft 'NoDo' Windows Phone 7 update to be a no-show until early MarchSome are blaming the carriers for the delay. Others are pointing fingers at handset makers requiring last-minute changes that require Microsoft to provide new ROMs (which one source said the Redmondians are planning to deliver to partners in mid-February). All this is even more maddening, given Ive heard from one of my contacts that Microsoft actually put the finishing touches on NoDo before the end of calendar 2010.

Did custom ringtones ever make it over?
And does the phone support right to left languages yet?
Edit: Also what ever happened to the SD card issue?

it means ovi maps integrated into bing. it means more wp7 phones sold. more apps. yadda yaddauser_nat said:Cool, I guess.
Not sure what this does for us non Nokia WP7 owners.
I think it has navigation for most countries.Totakeke said:Does ovi maps have turn by turn worldwide yet? Because bing maps is still far behind in terms of worldwide support for directions.

Bing already has that on the WM6.5 platform though.Retrocide said:It's going to give WP7 free turn by turn navigation. If it's anything like the ovi maps on symbian you'll be able to download the maps, no data connection required to navigate.
Turn-by-Turn on Bing for Windows Mobile is just another US-only feature.claviertekky said:Bing already has that on the WM6.5 platform though.
Turn by turn navigation was always in the planning for WP7 before that announcement.
