You should have done that originally then, IMO.Brettison said:If I wasn't had by the balls in contract and it wasn't gonna cost me so much to get an iPhone I'd bail with the iPhone 5.

I chose WP7 over an iPhone, Android or BB device based on what it does now, not on some hope that it would be worth it eventually. If and when the updates come I will (hopefully) be even happier with the additional functionality, but right now I really do not care enough to get worked up over it.
It doesn't do what it says it does now because it's buggy as a mother fucker. I'm not talking about added features. I get all kinds of random fucking issues though like neither weather app updates the live tile for me, TWC app crashes all the time, the marketplace always crashes, apps are slow, the actual fb app sort of updates, the camera settings not saving sucks etc....ElNino said:You should have done that originally then, IMO.

Camera settings not saving is a feature, if I recall. lol.Brettison said:It doesn't do what it says it does now because it's buggy as a mother fucker. I'm not talking about added features. None of this is added functionality, and I don't see how I would have known this shit before hand.
I'm in the extremely fortunate position of having bought my Focus off contract, having a nexus one with gingerbread as my "backup" phone, and (more importantly) having given last years phone upgrade to my wife. Her update, which is now mine, is due in June, which means I can upgrade to the new iPhone 5 for free after selling either this phone or the n1.Brettison said:If I wasn't had by the balls in contract and it wasn't gonna cost me so much to get an iPhone I'd bail with the iPhone 5.

You had your phone for a week so I don't think your one to put in input on this like most of us that have been posting since launch.Wormdundee said:Agreed. Buying a phone based on future hopes doesn't sound like the best idea to me. I've had an HD7 for about a week now and it's fine for me. I still look forward to updates of course but it's not like I'm going to bail out because updates are late or anything.

118 days? Holy shit, not bad, not bad.
It's amazing, when you think about it. The update was finished in late December and it's still not officially available. Maybe it was a little native to believe in the vague, official release time frame we got at MWC. I have the feeling that they just don't get it. Again.
But hey, at least Exchange works, so it's not a downgrade at work.

The creative guys laughed when I told them about it. And they stopped when I mentioned that one morning when some of them were late, because of a certain daylight saving bug. Then again, I laughed at them back then, so I guess I deserve it. Karma's a bitch.Brettison said:As long as your alarm actually goes off when it should so you can get to work! Amirite!
Do you have a microSD card installed? I tried a microSD based on what Paul Thurrot said had worked in his phone since launch without problems. After a week, after running fine with 14 GB of data stored, it started hanging up while syncing with Zune, and would randomly turn off. I took the microSD out and it has done fine since.Brettison said:It doesn't do what it says it does now because it's buggy as a mother fucker. I'm not talking about added features. I only used Flixster for a short time. Remember when someone in this thread had a really, really cool Tron 2.0 "theme"? He used Flixster for one of the Tron themed tiles, but mine never, ever updated. So I deleted the app.Brettison said:On a similar note does everyone's flixster live title update all the time? Fruit Ninja Over 7 Times More Revenue on Windows Phone Compared To Android
Fruit Ninja, besides being an excellent game, is one of seven applications that has grossed over $100,000. Not bad for a new platform. Whats very telling is the comparison to Android. Fruit Ninja has grossed over $150,000 on the Windows Phone 7 platform. It has sold more units, at a higher price than Android. The developers brought in less than $20,000 from Android. Thats seven times more revenue generated from a much smaller user base, that will no doubt see growth once Sprint and Verizon release WP7 phones in the coming weeks and months.
My Flixster tile updates every week or two with the top movie from the box office, so right now it is Rango.Brettison said:On a similar note does everyone's flixster live title update all the time? I heard from one of my WP7 contacts today that Microsofts new target date for the NoDo rollout is the week of March 21.

I'm surprised they've only made $20,000? That's a HUGE amount of refunds, if refunds are even counted in that number. Weird.

Your picture looks really good. The camera is the only thing I don't like about my Optimus 7, because it sucks (or I didn't find the right settings). So now Samsung has another selling point besides the SAMOLED screen. I guess it's time for Nokia to step in.VanMardigan said:Here's a picture of guava growing in my yard. I took that with my focus, I believe I used macro for that, not sure, but I know I used wide dynamic range for that one. Make sure to see the large version. So that's what got me to bug the folks on the WP7 blog about the camera settings, since I would like both dynamic range and anti-shake on by default.

I thought that was pretty obvious.PG2G said:I kind of wish Microsoft would just release the software updates independently of the OEM firmware updates. I just know this hold up is due to some Samsung nonsense. NoDo is already out there and floating around on Dell and HTC handsets, and Samsung has typically been horrific when it comes to Android updates...
Surprise, surprise. Neowin has been informed that the "NoDo" update has been delayed, due to Microsoft itself. Carriers worldwide have approved the update, but Microsoft has likely delayed it due to issues with the pre-update on Samsung phones.
At least according to Microsoft Support, it was indeed scheduled for the 7th:
You are right, the NoDo update was suppose to be released on March 7th, but it has been postponed. We don't know a date yet, but Microsoft will push the update soon.Like previous dates, what is happening here is obvious: Microsoft sets an internal window-for-release, first it was January, then February, then early March, now late March...but due to ongoing issues with carriers, OEM support/Samsung problems, the dates keep getting pushed back. So when these "rumored" dates appear, they are true...for the moment. But things change and they evidently change quickly.
This will definitely influence how many Apps I purchase.WMPoweruser.com said:Only 5 re-installs allowed before WP7 apps are charged again

According to Microsoft, after uninstalling and re-installing an application 5 times, the sixth time the user will be charged once again for the privilege of using the app.
Given that Microsoft has suggested removing applications as a solution for update woes, we find this restriction rather ridiculous.
It's devices, not installations. 5 devices per app.snap0212 said:This will definitely influence how many Apps I purchase.
iOS let's you put it on an unlimited amount of devices. Those devices can only sync with 5 computers though.brotkasten said:It's devices, not installations. 5 devices per app.
Is there a limit to how many devices I can download to?
Yes. According to the licensing terms, customers are allowed to download an application to 5 phones at a time that use the same Windows Live ID.

It's the same as everywhere else.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the correction.numble said:iOS let's you put it on an unlimited amount of devices. Those devices can only sync with 5 computers though.
