Anyone notice any other change with No Do and Samsung firmware beside the commonly known fix

- camera default to anti-shake
- fix mic/headset bug
- fix bluetooth bug
- my podcast cover show up now (it never did before)

wpcentral report that the capacitive button area is disable so it won't get activate by accident. You have to specific put finger directly on the "button". I test this just now and yeah it's much better especially playing game like fruit ninja.

Other thing I notice (but could be my crazy imagination) touch screen work better now when phone is laying flat. (before it sometime would not register the touch when not holding in your hand.

Also I didn't know if this was possible before but now I can have more than 1 bluetooth connect at the same time.

If you are using "unapproved" SD card and your phone reboot it will tell you that you have unapproved card.

Icon lag seems to occur less than before, not sure if this is firmware / no do or the new SD card I put in but I haven't have of the lag in both home and the app list.

If you get official No Do then you should also get Samsung update (they are bundle together). Samsung update only show up separate for people that either unbranded or use Chevron Update tool.

Some people did report that they haven't got the update on their stock phone and I assume this is because it's another rolling update and may be some region of the country is not getting the update yet. (Not sure where you are at)

I know what should be happening, but it's not. :P

I'm gonna try for round 3 later after I get home and eat. I'm like 99% sure it should have worked last time, but what cha gonna do? 3rd time's a charm right? RIGHT?!?! LOL :]

Are there any homebrew apps that do wi fi tethering? I'm going on a mini vacation and I'll need to tether a few devices, but I'd hate to have to swap to my Nexus One for a week. I know there is a USB tethering trick for the Focus, but I'd like wi fi tethering if possible.

I definitely noticed this - in fact, I compared my post-NoDo focus with my wife's pre-NoDo focus, and there's definitely a difference there.

Also loving the capacitive button fix - very good stuff.

Anyone else notice when you get a text and it does like a double tone? Sometimes it's in my pocket and it does the text tone + the extra one when I'd assume the light sensor picks up light, which is weird cause it's in my pocket. It also seems to do it sometimes when it's flat on my bed in light and I pick it up. Not sure if there's a weight sensor? Maybe I'm crazy.

It does this for me if I text someone, lock the phone on the conversation, and then get a response. You get the single text tone, then you get a separate tone indicating its for the conversation you have open.

Hey VanMardigan, I have good news for you. I just wanted to let you know that I had the auto-correction bug, which means you didn't imagine it and you're not insane.

Okay so good news.... I DID NOT get both updates rolled into one... BUT...

I just got home and plugged my phone into try and go back to pre NoDo while I ate since it takes a while. Boom Zune tells me I have a Samsung update!

w00t no need to go through all of that BS again!

PS: No clue why I got it this way and not the other way.

Anyone tried this? Decent game, looks fantastic. Surprisingly smooth. Basically you're Han Solo in a daft punk inspired tunnel, dodging colored boxes, trying to survive as long as you can. I hope it ends with you escaping a disco ball as it explodes into millions of sparkles.

EDIT, also turn OFF the sound of the video below. Reviewer is...ugh. Play Daft Punk instead.

Love that they've fixed some of the small little annoyances. The flat bug indeed was a bug and it's fixed, read it on wmpower I think. I would also love to get this whole SD card confusion out of the way and have some approved large capacity cards. I know the 8 GB cards that are apparently certified are supposedly available, but 8GB is still a little low for my tastes. skipdeez on WP Radio said he was using a SanDisc class 4 16 GB card and said he hasn't had issues, might go with that, just wish they'd get on the ball and provide some higher capacity authorized cards without having the doubt as to whether they'll cause any performance issues.

Also, absolutely no offense, you're likely the most tech informed posters here, your posts have helped me a couple times, but I read your posts as drunk hulk.

This is an insanely annoying new bug, and although I'm glad that I'm not actually insane, it's still troubling that it isn't widespread enough to demand a fix before the next scheduled update in the fall.

I wonder did NoDo patch fixed the alarm bug.

Example Alarm will ring, when you press dismissed or snooze , all sound/game / music output will be lost till a full restart of the phone is done.

I've run into the bug once since updating 20 days ago, so nope.

Press the windows key, assuming you're talking about the home screen.

On webpages in iOS, you can hit the top bar to automatically scroll to the top. Immensely useful. Although WP7 scrolls faster than iOS.

Got the notification coming out of the Thunder game last night so I joined the NoDo family. Didn't have any trouble applying the updates and I had not monkeyed with my Focus to get the update before AT&T pushed it out to me.

I gotta be honest. I've yet to find a non crap game in the gaming part of the marketplace that wasn't an official XBLA game. Sad I know.

Except for Fruit Ninja.

Game loves to stutter every now and then.

Yes, that doesn't run as well as my version on iPhone 4.

(I have an unlocked Focus)

However, I am impressed with with what NoDo brought. I wonder if it fixed some of the wifi issues my Focus has. If MS can get Mango out on time, learn from their mistakes, and Nokia puts out a top tier phone...I might upgrade to that instead of another iPhone.

Da fuck... Whenever I goto Google now it takes me to Google Spanish WTF?????

PS: What are the steps to reenable the speed increase for 3g on the focus. Searching for that info is a bitch on my phone.

● From the number-dial screen:
● Enter ##634#
● Diagnostics screen should open.
● Enter *#32489#
● Test mode screen should open.
● Press back at the bottom. (bottom right, not the phone's back button)
● Press 5 for RRC (HSPA) control.
● Press 1 to view what yours is set at.
● Press 2 to change it.
● Press 3 to change to Release 6 HSDPA/HSUPA.
● Press to confirm.

I haven't tried that many games, but of the ones I have tried these are the (non-Xbox Live) games that I would recommend.

AlphaJax (multiplayer Scrabble, is fun even if I suck)
Chicks'n'Vixens (at least until Angry Birds comes out)
ColorSpill (classic color game but has local leaderboards based on location)
Decimation X2 (classic Space Invaders game with crazy particles)
Krashlander (physics based gameplay, get your guy to the robots... levels are added fairly regularly)
Scribble Defense (tower defense type game)
TapSplosion (Geo Wars-like gameplay)
Trine's Hangman (constant leaderboard updating makes this way more addicting than it should be for hangman)
Word Tangle (Boggle game with leaderboards and lots of game options)
Wordament (As mentioned by others, MMO-like Boggle game)

Wordament is one of the best mobile phone games I've played.

I look forward to future You vs. the Internet games. They nailed it.

While we are talking good free games, I'd like to throw out Unite, a physics/accelerometer game where you guide metal balls and get them together. Also, Swipy Man is a lot of fun.

interesting thanks...still loving the game, getting my brain to work well enough to get a good score is a different story...

but having to get my brain to work AT ALL in a moblie game is a nice treat in and of itself. ;)
I rarely reach 200 points, still haven't made it into the top ten. There's some seriously skilled players in the mix. But the way the game is set up makes it constantly alluring to keep shooting for the top. The ever changing restarting nature of the game makes everything in flux. Its genius.

And while we're at it:

Blackboard Gems
Pixel Man Zero
Platformance
Quadra
TapSplosion (free)
Triangula
Nom Nom Worm
Pixodus

Is there any way we can make use of Skydrive? Like, how can I use it like Dropbox?

I use LindyReader/Dropbox for reading manga like crazy on my Windows Phone and I thought to myself, why can't we do the same with MS own service, SkyDrive?

LOL, no offense taken, English is not my first language and at time I know my posts came across as something written by a first grader. Also, I usually type my responses or posts at work and in between doing other things and I often get interrupted, which lead to posts that are incoherent mess. (Working night shift also doesn't help matter). I am sorry and I will try to write better in the future.

Speaking of future, this is interesting bit about some of the phones that are out in the wild. This along with that Dude, WIMU app shows there are several version of the OS and phone out there being tested.

http://www.wpcentral.com/game-stats-reveal-some-new-wp7-devices

The chart above shows a few of the devices that caught our eye from Occasional Gamer and we'll try to break 'em down for you:
HTC Mazaa: reported as a Sprint HTC Trophy, some of us actually believe is this is the finalized Verizon device instead. Reason? With 98 devices running Perez's games, that seems more like a device in tester hands, ready to be rolled out rather than in development--and we know the Verizon Trophy is out in the field, being tested. And we find it odd that a Sprint Trophy would be in more hands at this point than a Verizon version.
Samsung GT-I8703: We still don't know what this phone is--possible variant of the Focus Omnia 7
HTC-MWP6885: likewise, we saw this earlier too and still have no info on this device ID
DELL Advist: this is new and may one of the reported Dell devices from the leaked roadmap back in February
HTC MSM7x30: clearly this is HTC testing out Qualcomm's latest chipset (see Engadget), which was just approved for the Windows Phone 7 chassis specs. Good to know that this will becoming probably in the fall
HTC-PC40200: reported by the FCC as a CDMA Trophy--possibly for Sprint or just an earlier, pre-production model still floating around

So does this mean we might get 2nd wave of first year phones? or are they next gen versions. I don't know much about when and how new phones get release to market (I used only iPhone the past few years). I know there seems to be endless supply of new Android phones. There were rumors about another Dell Venue (At&t compatible) and we already know about HD7s.

I got to be number 4 this morning but there were only 30 of us playing. Me and the lady will sit down and play for twenty minutes before we fall asleep.

It'd be nice if apps would give the option of saving your information to skydrive so you could retrieve it after a reset or removing the app. There is probably no easy API for it.

That would be great to have. I was so disappointed that all my game saves were all deleted after I reset my phones. I thought at least XBLA games would save to the "gamertag" like some of the games on Xbox 360.

I don't know any app that utilized Skydrive beside the camera and Office app.

Supposedly that is in the works. Like alot of shit though it's a wait for Mango thing sadly.

No apologies, and no worries especially if English is your second language. I never have any problem figuring out what you're saying. I just enjoy your posts all the more because reading them as drunk hulk happens to be inadvertently entertaining. ;)

Anybody run into a problem where you have to repurchase apps that you paid for? My brother had a problem with the NoDo update so he did a complete reformat and sync before I could tell him about the steps to allow the phone to update.

When he logs into zune through the software and goes to account -> purchase history -> apps, it only shows the apps that he has downloaded since he reformated. I had him send me a screen shot showing that it is only giving him the option to buy on an app that he had already paid for when he goes to the app page on the marketplace. For example, on ilomilo it shows the price on the window that pops up where on my marketplace, it says already purchased under price.

All the apps he bought were over the air on the phone. I guess it isn't a good idea to purchase apps like that?

edit: nevermind, he entered in the wrong live ID when he setup his phone again... He did find out that the Windows Phone 7 phone support is embedded under menus for Zune support.

New random error:

I awoke to find my phone plugged in and unresponsive, as if it were off. Pulling out the cord and replugging it in did nothing. The power button wouldn't turn on or wake the device no matter how much I pressed it. Finally, I had to pluck the battery out and put it back in and then the phone powered on as normal with a fully charged battery.

Alarms were set, is there a new alarm bug? I also sync wirelessly, that might be the culprit as well. Any thought? Similar experiences?

This happened on my Surround the very first night I had it and not again since. Not really sure what caused it.

Need a recommendation for a portable speaker set! I'm going camping tomorrow and would like to be able to listen to my Focus for music--any recommendations that can be had at Best Buy/ATT Store/Target?

IM+ coming soon, and it looks pretty nice. Hopefully it performs nice as well. Will purchase without hesitation.
