It's Myriam Joire. She never liked WP7.

Would you trust a review from her?

Okay, that was mean

Myriam is a woman? I thought it was swedish dude.

lol

Does he really hate MS that much?
Hate is such a strong word. I remember her as someone who likes Nokia and Symbian to an extend and isn't very fond of Microsoft. But like I said earlier, I don't listen to the Engadget failcast anymore, so no clue if she's changed her opinion.

Oh, come on, guys.

How is it not obvious that she's a woman?

oh shit, that dude has breasts!

So the 800 is the searay which is basically the n9 running wp7.5? I'm impressed with the hardware but the rumored "ace" is meant to have a 4.3inch screen

They said they prefer meego over mango that is the most amazing thing lol. I love my nokia phone too.

I lol'ed when I read that. Sure, meego is alright, but it's nothing compared to Mango...

Great looking hardware though. Can't wait to hear more about it! Been dying to get one of the new Mango phones!

I've decided I'm totally happy with my current Windows Phone and will totally reevaluate what the best decision for me is in a year. Year is a ton of time in the phone world so I'll see then.

At least you have a new phone.

Mine is over three years old.

You should totally buy my N1 from me.

You can use WP7 Launcher.
Not compatible with CDMA.

my volume rocker has fallen off, and my hold/power button doesn't work.
Crack corner in the back cover, so the cover doesn't hold any more.

Pressing dial sometimes will unlock the lock screen and begin dialing a number.

Phone has screen of death from time to time which requires a complete reset.

Can't run anything new and absolutely zero games.

Anyway, sucks how planned obsolescence: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planned_obsolescence forces customers to buy new things.

I tried running an Android port on it, and one build did work, but the battery life was terrible and still suffered the screen of death.

It's such an awesome combination that sprint/verizon will make an exemption.
So awesome.

Hey guys, I heard Verizon is switching to GSM because now they're putting SIM cards in their phones. /sarcasm

Side story: I had a ex-friend's acquaintance who told me that Verizon runs on GSM as he really believed the Vodafone SIM cards installed in their phones allowed that to happen. Man, he was such an idiot.

Complex Shadow said:
ok you win.
Nah, we both lose. No one is the winner.

You should still buy my N1, it's a damned artifact from history.

Why don't you keep it? If you ever stop by the Google campus, you can take a picture of the N1 phone next to the Android deserts.

Watching that Engadget review video, I really love the N9's polycarbonate or whatever material, but then when they compare it next to Samsung's glossy phones, I love those even more. Matte just doesn't look as good

I'm about to buy a Nexus Prime unlocked, so every cent counts. I'm gonna be too worried about getting one those status in my truck to be worried about taking a picture.

HNNN that N9 looks pretty great too bad I'll have to switch carriers to ever get it AUGHGHHG

Hey so tell me this, guys. I don't have an xbox live account. Presumably there are WP7 games you can get with acheivements, yeah? Does that mean I need to HAVE an xbox live account? Does that mean I can register and use one on the phone without actually having an xbox?

Two things I hate. Gloss and chrome. I love a nice matte finish.

I believe your Windows Live/Zune/Xbox Live account are one in the same. If you have one you have them all. That's how I believe it works.

Ugh, I'm the complete opposite. I find glossy plastics and chromey metallic surfaces absolutely terrible and cheap looking. Smooth aluminium/matte plastic, like on the HTC Titan/N9 looks so much better, IMO:

well, for screens with deep blacks, glossy just looks better. For example, TVs. Who has a matte black tv?

Went to AT&T and they plugged my Focus in for like a half hour.

Didn't change anything.

Am I fucked?
What did they plug it into? The official charger that ships with the phone?

So I went out and took a look and handle the N9 in person, they had all this big display stands with different colors each to promote just the respective N9 colors which I must say is pretty eye-catching. As for the device itself, the texture is more similar to a very smooth and hard rubber rather than the plastics used for most portable devices (like the DS and PSP). I think it's pretty nice to grip. The design of the device is quite slick. Didn't examine the software much.

Will the Nokia 800 have the polycarbonate as well?

Also, I'm a bit confused... the N9 isn't going to have WP7, right? It's just Meego?

The "Searay" Windows Phone will have a similar casing to the N9 with some minor adjustments (the required physical camera button, FFC presumably).

The Nokia 800 is the Windows Phone version of the N9. Capacitive front buttons, physical camera button, Qualcomm SoC, but same polycarbonate casing as the N9 and same screen technology and camera as well.

That Nokia phone is amazing. I wasn't sure at first but the Engadget video sold me.

If I could afford it I think I'd swap it for my Omnia 7.

Fucking hell.

My parents are supposed to be coming to visit me on school today, and my Focus that's plugged into my laptop and charging starts to ring for the alarm I set for it, so I press dismiss, go away from it, and when I come back its dead. Now it says I have a depleted battery.

It's charging right now but its still on the SUPER LOW battery icon... I think I might have a faulty battery....
