Because no one switches, fewer developers make apps. Catch 22.

What are some of the apps you really can't live without?

Well, the major train company here in Sweden has an app. Only for iOS and Android. I know there are transit apps in all app stores, but you can buy tickets from them right from this app.

Then there's Instacast...

If you want a cheap Windows Phone the HTC 8S will be a better buy.

Thing is, I only really want the 920 (it's actually the first smartphone I've been interested in).

The reason I might go with the free 800 @ £26pm, is because I'd likely get an unlocked/O2 920 whenever they become available next year and just put in my current sim, meaning I keep the £26pm deal with unlimited mins, texts and 1GB data.

(My mother would happily take the 800 off my hands too).

Belfiore seems like one of Microsoft's most likeable executives, but I'll be damned if he doesn't have to peddle some lame-ass conferences.

Jesus Christ.

They will never learn. Celebrities and children, didn't you watch E3?
MS has an odd fixation with both. See: CES.

That was kinda the point. Kind are annoying as fuck and putting them in the Kid's corner helps. Effective presentation.

You know what would've been an effective presentation?

Belfiore is soooooooooooooooo yesterday, Where is Panos? He would even sell me into having kids just so I can use Kids corner!
"See this kid I'm holding here? I'm going to drop it, even though everyone told me not to."

The Verge/Topolsky has a bit of a history with Windows Phone. I don't think I ever minded the Lumia 900 review, but their flip-flopping sure was getting on my nerves.

Topolsky flip-flops on a lot of things these days. For example the Nexus 7 just went from 'classy, well-made product' and 'solid design that feels great in your hand' to 'feels like a toy' in the iPad Mini review hands-on. Flavor of the day I guess.

Anyone seen any word of Flip Ahead being a part of IE10 Mobile? It's really nice on Windows 8. No more hunting for the next page button.

Is that what I think it is? Because if it means going to next page with a singular button, this would be awesome.
I don't think it's part of WP8, though.

yay
Jesus, finally.

Nothing in my life is exciting to take a pic off but Lumia 920 is a future-proof beast.

But 4.5 is too big for me. Ideally, I prefer 4 inch but 4.3 is not too shabby.

If the camera isn't a big deal then the 8x is a good buy. It's going to be cheaper, but it does have less storage. The 920 has 32gb vs the 8x with 16gb, so that might be a deal breaker.
