I need to watch more anime featuring comedic gangsters then.

On second though, my life needs less over-the-top stereotypes masturbating through their pockets.

Durarara is pretty decent. I'll probably keep watching it.

The Book of Bantorra is still the best show for me. And Railgun needs more Touma. >.>

Only other show I've seen this from is Hajime no Ippo.

Durarara! 3: Why is Mikado so annoying. AND HIS ANNOYING FRIEND WHOSE NAME I CAN'T REMEMBER.

Where's my Isaac. Where's my Jacuzzi.

What the fuck is this. One episode on introductions. One episode for philosophy and half an episode for more mood setting.

(WHY WAS THAT GUY MASTURBATING THROUGH HIS POCKET.)

Orihara and Shizuo are shaping up to be as great as Ladd vs Claire (except not because Baccano's psycho pair was interesting from the start, at least Ladd was).

FINALLY SOMETHING INTERESTING HAPPENED.

I hate wimpy protagonists. OH WAIT THEY ALL ARE.

Final Thoughts: Trying too hard to be as interesting as Bakemonogatari. Less boring dialogue, more action, I know they are capable of it so I'm not sure if it's budget or time or what. Izaya, Shizuo, Neko-helmet and Simon are the only interesting characters out of like, what, 15?

What are you talking about? Are we watching the same show here? And I find it ironic you complain about boring dialogue and lack of action then bring up Bakemonogatari which suffers from both (along with trying to be deep and philosophical when it isn't).

Now watching ep 8 of Honey and Clover, that was the greatest game of twister ever.
I love that episode. Probably the hardest I've ever laughed due to an anime. The sound effects are just perfect.

Not to me! I excused Bakemono's lack of action because of the dialogue. Durarara/lalala isn't doing the same for me. Still, it has more potential for action later on so I'll keep watching.

Bakemonogatori certainly isn't an action show, which is fine, because for the most part the script goes between reasonable and excellent (Aragi/senjougahara). There are also other complaints but I don't what your second complaint is, considering the show doesn't really discuss anything outside of the characers and the oddities I can't see how it could be 'philosophical'. As an example Ghost in Shell containts philosophy (in the form of what is the mind, the soul and how do they relate to having a body). Bakemonogatori just has lots of puns.

I'm loving Durarara! I like how they fit recaps in the OP, it makes it enjoyable rather than "been there, done that".

Also, FMA Brotherhood episode 40 was amazing. Best episode so far for me. I like the story episodes.

I've really enjoyed Durarara!! and Cobra the Animation from this season. The later was a pleasant surprise too, since I didn't know that it was going to start airing this year.

Baka to Test is a surprise hit for me. I expected it to be yet another awful, insipid, bland highschool comedy that hits all the same notes as all the others, but it's surprisingly decent and has the right balance of comedy, light romance, and weirdness to be an enjoyable watch.

Only Durarara and Bako to Test are remaining for me this season. I have to say though that I can see Baka getting awful really quick...

At least there is still FMA and Cross Game.

I'm up to that episode in the show and it's pretty bad. Ignoring Hagu, who is one of the worst characters I've seen in anime, the characters are just awful. It makes all events that are supposed to be emotional or comedic fall flat. So what if Hagu was digging through a field to find a four leaf clover and everyone else joined in? Why did the twister scene need to happen? It's just all so meh. The only characters I liked were the guy with glasses and the guy who sleeps all day. Meh.

Sorry about grammar and spelling; I'm typing on my phone.

I doubt I'll make it to the 3-5 I said I would. *Spoilers
Getting Soma like that during the middle of a confrontation? Too awkward for me.

Sounds more like "I love losing..." but I don't know.

As GAF's upper-crust anime connoisseur, I give Honey and Clover the "Great Rumbler Seal of Approval" thereby placing it above any and all criticism.

It it kind of agonizing that the romantic relationships in the show sort of spin there wheels for episodes on end though.

Dead

well not really...yet
I watched the Uncensored episode 2 of Seikon no Qwaser for shits and giggles

Man, within the first minute you get a girl dreaming about being fondled while in Bondage gear and an other girl who is sucking her own massive tit (not a dream)

I dont know whether to be ashamed or impressed

I guess this will go on until the next big thing hits? Random Bakemono references upcoming?

Man, fuck "School Days". It started pretty awesome (SOme dude getting lucky with almost every girl in school) but the ending was the most disturbing shit I've ever seen in my life in a romance anime. Now I understand why they put the "horror" label on it after all this time thinking, "Why is this shit labeled horror?". I might have nightmares tonight.. :/

You should have seen that coming after he boned all those girls. Guys in anime only get to have happy endings if they spend the entire series suffering and shit.

i'm glad someone finally deconstructed the harem genre and presented a protagonist whom most viewers 'wanted', nice boat :D . If it helps any the endings were all pretty messed up in the original game though there's a couple ova's that are removed from the main story. They don't completely take themselves seriously as the it's 'train wreck the show', the ova's and IP have 4th wall breaking content, there's was a flash game where you have chibi Sekai and Kotonoha fighting with saw/knifes

It was never about a good ending anyway. It was a pr0n game to start with and that had the bloody endings.

Right, I remember reading about that game and people speculating which ending the show would have. I knew it would be bad but I didn't know it was that dark. :lol I liked it though. It was different.

I only watched like 4 episodes but I could tell it wasn't going to be good, I never bothered to finish it, the atmosphere made it pretty obvious in my opinion. Not that I can really finish most harem shows anyways unless they're comedy and there's only one winner in the first place, but I don't know if that counts as a harem.

I'm really liking Bakatest, funny as hit, and you know what I' interested in Sora no Woto, maybe, depends if it goes more serious or not.

WHAT?!

School Days is THE best harem/moe/romance/whatever-anime out there! It was sooo satisfying to see a male lead character FOR ONCE use all his opportunities. Finally!
Oh, and Sekai was a stupid bitch cunt.

Guy has sex with ALL girls, while dating the one girl, Kotonoha. The girl he seeked advice for approaching Kotonoha in the beginning is Sekai, who he also has an affair with. Sekai actually is in love with the guy, but that one wants Kotonoha. In the end, Sekai gets pregnant, but the guy doesnt want to take responsibility. That´s when Sekai enters the room, stabs him several times until he´s dead. She leaves the house. Some time later, the other girl, Kotonoha, enters the guy´s house and finds his corpse. We see how she phones Sekai, to meet on the school´s roof. So the scene skips to that. They talk for a bit. Kotonoha carries a big bag with her. At some point she tells Sekai to look into the bag. As Sekai does so, she finds out that Kotonoha cut off the guy´s head and brought it with her. Inmidst of her shock, Kotonoha stabs Sekai with a huge knife. While lying on the ground, Kotonoha tells Sekai (with a mad look on her face) that she´s going to find out if Sekai really was pregnant...so she cuts open Sekai´s belly. The camera view here is specifically great, ... from the inside of Sekai´s belly you see Kotonoha´s face. Well , that´s it in short :lol

The problem with those is that there needs to be a middle ground where the protagonist grows a pair and settles down with one woman, and then tells the rest off. I'd bet the people rooting for the main character to get with all the girls are the same ones who despise cheaters in real-life relationships.

Like when I was reading Ichigo 100%. He had a bunch of girls lined up, but every time he made head way with one, he'd go and grab another's boobs/kiss/whatever and the other girl would be completely oblivious. Harems are best when they don't have all of the opportunities in the world, IMO.

Did the scene Kotonoha walked in on mind fuck her into oblivion or something?
Because if I walked in on a scene like the one I loved stabbed to death on the floor, my first thought wouldn't be to cut the head off to put it in a duffel bag for a rooftop confrontation.

The TV show's ending is a lot more totally whack though the bloody endings from the game are a lot more bloody overall.

All of the characters in the game are pretty fucked up but Kotonoha is the most screwed up one (aside from Makoto) across the endings.

I guess the aim is to somewhat reflect real people, yet I can see an argument to cut it down somewhat for the purposes of entertainment. At least it's nothing compared to something like Maison Ikkoku which is like 90 episodes of spinning wheels.

Ikkoku has reasons to spin its wheels though and it portrays the entire situation so perfectly.
