Lol, for some reason, that nudge wasn't anywhere near as rewarding as I thought it might be. Regardless, I'm fully aware that it wasn't a direct answer to that/those loaded question(s) of yours.
Serious answer: I enjoyed it. The sap did work with me, to some extent, Secret Base is Secret Base, and while it was a bin of wasted potential atop an already silly premise, I do feel as if it managed to wrap itself up in a manner that left no holes (where?), which is more than could be said for most. It wasn't amazing, by any means, but it wasn't the tripe it's purported to be.
Remember how GITS used to look? Well, imagine how much better it would look if they replaced some of the iconic scenes with orange CGI that looks the first SAC OP.

Highschool DxD 6: Cosmic said it already but yeah westaboo x weeaboo end is best end. Muscle man magical girl was also pretty amusing. Still not up to this standard though.
Daily Lives of Highschool Student Councils 6: Not as totally funny for me as last week overall but the council scenes did it for me. Doing jobs and getting paid whether they wanted to or not. My favourite scene this week was the soccerbro's scene. Hidenori just couldn't let that ball throuugh. At least he's now rugbybro. Also everybody is a bro except Tadakuni.
Another 4-5: So we're finally getting into this whole curse business that made everybody shut up about it. I'm still intrigued as to where this 'another' thing is going to go. Poor
nurse. Getting mushed by an elevator is still a thing that raises hairs if I think about it.
Ano Natsu 5: Yet another bro being a bro despite his own desires. Too bad these efforts don't seem like they'll bear much fruit. Girl C to Girl A is a 0-10 match up. Remon is amusing as usual. Writing troll scripts. I liked the MIB adlib plotline the movie has going. Mio hugging dat teddie bear.
Papa 5: 3 parts pandering 1 part usagi dropping. They're throwing all the usual fanservice tropes in here. There wasn't too much family doings this time around. Sora getting lost, uncle finds her, some flashback of how they met. Pretty standard stuff. At least at the end of the episode it shows them looking for local schools and stuff maybe that will go somewhere less pandering. Also Sako needs to be kept in line. Dude is a little creepy. Not enough Raika : (
Bodacious Pirates 5-6: So we're finally into the pirating portion of the show. I thought the whole yacht club's first expedition and their encounter with an aggressive enemy fairly interesting but I'm glad we're into what the show is titled. I found it pretty funny these rich dudes were all 'fuck yeah we're getting robbed!'. Is getting robbed a new noble pastime that I'm not aware of? If so I should take up this profession. I like Marika's pirate outfit. It looks cool. I guess pirates have to look the part but some of the crew are really living it up.
Persona 4 18: Nanako makes everything better. It felt like they actually handled this quite well unlike previous character dramas (ugh at the Naoto shadow). Hopefully they can continue this when the time comes again. Next episode looks like it'll just be a fun one.

Ep1 - Good action, scenario is not outstanding, character designs suck.
Ep2 - What happened to the good action? Why is the writing even worse? Wow these designs really suck!
Ep3 - Flashback scene was kinda cool, this show is boring.
Ep4 - I forgot what it was about.
Ep5 - I also forgot.
Ep6 - Action's pretty cool, no one gives a fuck about the story or characters anymore, wow the character designs and art direction for this show REALLY sucks!
If you were a fan of the original, I recommend catching GITS 2.0, it's interesting to see some of the minor changes (even outside the CG) and honestly it's still really good.

Wow, that's really bad, especially that first comparison. The awful CG aside, why would they try to make everything orange? For consistency with other GitS material?

GITS 2.0 is artistically much the same as the original, but for the orange hue (which is more noticeable at some times than others) and the CG. I'm not going to even argue that it looks better than a show like Azumanga Daioh because that's frankly stupid.
Looking at those caps it really removes the rough-hewn look of the original which I find a lot more captivating than the more CGish stuff they have now. That said I haven't actually seen GITS 2.0 so whateverrrrrrrr
Except covered in tons of bad gaussian blur and blown out garish digital lighting, along with the color timing completely shifted to from steely blue tones to monotone sepia. In other words it's not really similar at all.

You're talking about coloring, I'm talking about artistically. It's the same movie but with bad colors, is that a better way of putting what I wanted to say?
It's worse than GITS but still not horrendous. I'm not defending 2.0, only objecting to the blatant over-reaction.

I think that the most blatant problem for many aren't the filters itself, but how those cannibalize the detail of the picture present on the original, makes it harder to see that detail. Like there has been no measure applying those, or even like they tried to hide something. Trying to overlay a work not planned to be changed.

I'm totally rooting for Taichi, so it was kinda hard. He's been portrayed as the big loser of the story up til now, I seriously hope they'll cut him some slack later down the road é_è
Which is totally fine and in the end if we are talking about two anime that look like shit then it really doesn't matter to which degree.
GITS 2.0 has the advantage of having the original artwork as it's basis and all the detail that comes with it. First time watchers should always watch GITS, but there's really no harm in checking out 2.0 if you've seen the original ad nauseum. It is somewhat fun to try and find any differences and inconsistencies from the original, but your mileage may vary.
And this is why I much prefer that those obsessed with their own works (or 'by-product' profits) resort to re-making them from the scratch, as long as they leave the original ones alone.
