It gets better as it goes on. Ironically enough, it seems like they mostly use the cgi for whenever the mech is stationary...

I can live with that. I just hate how so many shows, regardless of where they're made, keep replacing hand-drawn mechs/cars/anything metal and geometric with cgi. It's sad. : (

CG is the future, alas.
That said, I actually like the sleek look of the CG in Rinne; it fits well with the mecha designs. And there's more 2D mecha action in the show than most anything else these days.
Don't listen to pizzaroll, he's just a hater. It's a very good series.
Myke told me about Steins;Gate, watched a bunch of eps now. The ending of episode 9, the Akiba thing, was fucking amazing. Didn't expect this show to be this fun
The ending of episode nine was perfect. I still watch it just for the hell of it every once and a while. Dat revelation.
It's safe to say that when you see Pizzaroll and Yuasa in the same post, it's going to be a useless one. Dat salt.

Sakakibara's expression, one of my favorite in the series so far. Pretty nice midway episode clarifying stuff. The preview looked pretty intense. A really minor scene but I loved the backgrounds in the episode, the clouds and the water.

I was going to say. As much as I love Hoshi no Koe, that vector art really isn't doing Shinkai's early character designs any favors.

Facial Expressions was Shinkai's dump stat. He only pumped points into Backgrounds.
Episodes 3 and 4 are one long, tired joke and have the least amount of Remon. You could probably skip them and not miss anything.

I actually semi-dropped AnoNatsu after Episode 4 because I knew I wasn't going to be able to take the drama seriously, but you seem to think that there's sufficient Remon to keep watching so I guess I'd better catch up.

Oh yes, K-On!! clearly had a bigger budget than K-On! Which is funny because K-On! is only 14 episodes whereas K-On!! is 27, so it's more like 4x the budget than 2x or whatever.
This show does some crazy things to people, that's for sure.

I thought it was a pretty good hot bath episode. Nice action in the first half, excellent laughs in the second half, Isanami wasnt even that annoying, and as a team everyone is great. Yuri's emotional turmoil, Saizo (all his comments), and Sasuke made me laugh.
